History

Established in 2002.

Early in 2002, Timmerman was informed that local engineers and marine contractors had determined that the seawall at his Marco Island home was irreparable. While receiving costly and time consuming estimates and gathering information for the repairs, Timmerman began to consider if there might be a better way to repair his seawall. Timmerman did not like the idea of having his yard torn up, or his dock torn down and rebuilt after the seawall was repaired, with all aspects of the process being both costly and invasive.

With the help of a local engineering company, his knowledge as a salvor in the Merchant Marines, and over three years of research and development, Timmerman invented what is now known as the Dynamic Seawall Maintenance System™ (DSMS). In November of 2004 he formed Dynamic Seawall Maintenance System, Inc.

The system has been installed in many residential and commercial properties in Florida, Texas and is exploring new locations.

Business Owner

James Timmerman is the founder and owner of Dynamic Seawall Maintenance System, Inc. and the inventor of the patented system used to repair and maintain seawalls.

Timmerman has extensive experience in the maritime industry, as a salvor, having served in the Merchant Marines. Timmerman also holds current United States Coast Guard licensure.
