Marco Beach Ocean Resort

Looked good from the outside and the lobby but then I got to my room.
The carpets smelled like wet dog and the pillows felt damp.
The bedroom furniture was chipped and dusty.
The bathroom was probably the best part of the room. It’s spacious and has a separate bath and shower.
Probably the most annoying part of this whole trip was that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. What is that about???
All in all I was extremely disappointed with my stay. Only reason for the second star is because the staff was friendly.

I had an easy time booking this room. Look very forward to staying here. The moment I showed up, I got some woman at the counter who wasn’t very friendly, though not blatantly rude. She could use some training in customer service. She kind of set me in a bad mood from the get-​go. I just felt like she was processing me. Told me I had a partial ocean view room when I knew for a fact I had a full ocean view. She did take care of it and gave me the full view room. Stayed here three nights. The room is much smaller than what the online pictures make you think. It was still nice. I was very disappointed that the pool really closes at 7:00 p.m., before it even gets dark. I was like, really??? I don’t blame the hotel for other people’s attitude, but I received about 50% nice reactions and customer service, and about 50% dismissive attitude from other hotel employees, the restaurant Sale A Pepe, and the people staying there in general. As nice a time I had in the next two days, I won’t be coming here ever again.
Oh, the bellhop guy, an older gentleman, don’t recall his name… he was awesome. Very friendly and super nice guy. If everyone was like him, I would give this place a 5-​star rating.

This review is strictly about the Beachfront Bar & Grill. I was completely disappointed in the atmosphere and staff. They were incredibly slow. There was only one other occupied table in the bar and it STILL took 20 minutes to get our drinks and 45 minutes to get our food. The waiters barely acknowledged us. I will admit that the drinks and food were delicious when they arrived but we were too hungry to fully enjoy the experience. It was also a bit expensive for a simple lunch.

I have not a single complaint from the experience booking, checking in, the room etc. It was more than I ever could have imagined. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Rooms were smaller than I expected but I really didn’t mind. We didn’t have a view of any water but we could walk out our patio and get to the pool from our private gate. Beach was beyond gorgeous. Very well maintained. Cabanas and chairs were included (most places charge extra but assuming part of the resort fee). There were plenty of wait staff on the beach getting drinks and food for those around us. I did order a piña colada-​nice spiced rum just how they should be. Rooms were always cleaned, beds turned down and even a forecast for the weather, sunrise and sunset left with chocolates on your pillow. We ate breakfast at the Sale d Pepe which was also very good. Egg white fritata was delicious. We had a kitchenette fully stocked which came in handy for breakfast most other days and keeping healthy beach snacks. I didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend taking Cross Cruises sunset catamaran sail. Amazing views and a relaxing cruise. Great Captain with his family crew. We can’t wait to get back!!!

It’s a big hassle to get service on the beach. Ordered 6 Coors Light for $ 60 but they ran out of iced buckets and stuck it in a plastic sack. That’s fine but getting more ice without the long schlep to the bar myself proved fruitless. Not good for the price per night!

Very classy hotel in the beach of Beautiful Marco Island. Ambience is very classic yet super fancy. The restautant has a big terrace that faces the ocean and they serve great gourmet food. We got pasta and it was amazing. Also the service is very high class!

Great location with friendly people on staff all over. Attended VIPAR event and was a perfect fit for this large event!!!

Das Marco Beach Ocean Resort bieten absoluten hochstehenden Service & Komfort. Keine Wünsche bleiben offen, wir hatten ein Zimmer für umgerechnet 250.-/pro Nacht — viel, aber definitv den Preis wert. Die Hauseigenen Restaurants sind sehr teuer, umliegend finden sich aber sehr gute alternativen. Der Strandservice ist ebenfalls top, Liegen, Badetücher & Sonnenschrim sind inklusive.

Fantastic hotel. Great time. Staff supplies toys and games for fun under the sun… They have the biggest beach ball I’ve ever seen!
The inside is well maintained. Living room is a tad small, but the balconies are spacious. They have odd rules like no more than three guests to a room… But so far this hasn’t become an issue…

Just spent a week here on vacation and had a wonderful time. Can’t imagine a resort being much nicer than this. While not perfect… its pretty darn close. Everything here is first class elegant… employees are extremely nice. especially the parking valet guys. everyone is dying to please. rooms on the upper floors especially (we were on the 10^th) have wonderful views of the beach where we enjoyed beautiful breathtaking sunsets daily. each room has a outside patio… huge bathroom… especially loved the twice a day maid service and the wonderful shampoo’s and bath gels they left daily. had breakfast every day at their outdoor veranda restaurant. beach is wonderful… pool is a little small but very nice. grounds are immaculate. All this comes at a price… but I guess you get what you pay for. One «knock” – they had a large wedding booked at the resort… and these folks ‘tried» to take over the resort… not their fault… there were just a lot of people who knew each other and seemed oblivious that vacationers like us didn’t appreciate their loudness. But overall… this is a top flight spot. we’ll start saving now for our next visit.

I agree that the resort is beautiful but guest room maintenance is poor, Upon arrival I discovered the latch on the sliding door to the patio was broken. Call #1 to the front desk. We asked for the sofa bed to be made up. It was but no pillows or blankets. Call # 2 to the front desk. The resort supplies shower robes. A nice touch and I left mine on the floor hoping to receive a clean one for the next day. It was not replaced. The remote for the tv in the living area never worked and the one in the bedroom worked sporadically. At $ 250 a night I expect better.

As we wrap up our 5 day vacation at Marco Beach Ocean Resort, I’m honored to give this resort 4 stars. This resort resides on a great piece of property with one of the best beaches I’ve had the pleasure to be on. The staff and service were great, the rooms were clean and the onsite amenities were great. From what I can tell, most rooms over the 7^th floor had some sort of water view. We were on the 6^th floor and still can’t complain with our garden/​pool view. The layout was a bit odd and different from most resorts whose pool normally overlooks the ocean/​gulf. It is true, you do have to go thru a garage to get to the beach. My only complaint is the valet parking (and no self-​park option). While I know that most resorts charge a daily parking fee, the $ 18/​day valet is more expensive than the other surrounding resorts, plus you feel obligated to tip on top of that daily fee. The parking garage didn’t feel full even though the resort was sold out. Seems reasonable to have a self-​park option.
Some things I wish I knew before the last day:
1. The drinking water provided at the ocean/​pool was icy cold and had lemons in it. This beats a beach cocktail any day — honest.
2. The sunset at the Italian restaurant should not be missed any night you are on the resort. Head up to the deck if you’re not dining. Simply breathtaking.
3. Get over the trip thru the garage to get to the beach. Don’t let anything take away from the great experience.
4. The pool is nice and the water is warm. Get in there!
5. Stock your fridge with water, soda, juice boxes and any other snacks. Save a few dollars.
I hope that if you choose this resort you will enjoy it as much as me, my husband and 2 year old son did.

Only deduction and I will just blame myself. Apparently when you only have 4 people your buying drinks for the 20% tip is automatically added to the bill. Service was good, drinks were good, so I tipped 20%. Was sitting at the airport closely reviewing my checks I saw the bartender enjoyed a 40% gratuity!!!
Being candid one would think he would have informed me as he took the completed bill about 10 minutes before we even departed the bar, however he did not.
Again, shame on me. Next time review.

Twice a day room maintenance, turn down service with an inspirational quote & chocolates on the pillow. Comfy beds. Marco is so beautiful that there’s not much reason to be in the room… But if you are, it’s very comfortable! Free wifi if you need it.
Beach was clean, and we really appreciated the Smoke Free policy at the resort! Especially on the beach– nothing worse than trying to enjoy the great outdoors, and being suffocated by smoke!
Fabulous experience. 5 stars all the way!

I stayed from June 02, 2012, to June 5, 2012. I had a 1 bedroom full Gulf view. I do agree to the some of the previous post that this hotel is the perfect place if you don’t want to be bothered with kids screaming, or the partying type of folk. It was quiet, and very relaxing. The staff was above exceptional! Paulie who assisted me and my best friend for the most part of our stay was both informative, and very friendly, and made us feel very welcomed. Check-​in was a breeze as well as check-​out. I do feel if you are paying for a hotel of this price, Wi-​Fi should be free of charge, but when you’re staying in paradise, you shouldn’t really need it. The sunsets are magnificent to say the least. Truly breathtaking! My best friend and I loved it so much; we decided to make this our yearly girls’ weekend get-​a-​way. This time we are bringing two more friends, and renting a two bedroom full ocean view. I think Marco Beach Ocean Resort is the classiest hotel on Marco Island.
The only bad thing I found with this place is the fact that the living room and kitchen area in the one-​bedroom ocean views were very small, and unpractical, but I guess if it is just for two people it’s cramped, but bearable.

Way too pricey, and annoying that you have to pay for parking, and valet. Rooms are very small for the price of $ 210/​night. View was not great, and pool was quite small and crowded. Definitely not worth the price.

We were here the weekend of Father’s Day. Had a ball, the view from our room looking at the Gulf is Amazing! We did have a little mishap with the shower door but we enjoyed our stay and I’m already looking into going back next year. — We didn’t use the room service, the 18% gratuity was a bit much. There are plenty of places nearby.

This hotel reminds me of a miniature version of a Ritz Carlton. It is very European decorated and has spectacular service. The rooms are fantastic. They are new with the best beds. The whole hotel always seems clean and very classy. I definitely recommend this hotel for a very classy, upscale stay.

We are fans of the resort and will revisit it soon.
We did a family trip. There are no «kids» in our family, so have an adult get away was what we were looking for. It was my wife, her parents and her sister. We just all wanted to slip away from the every day. Marco Beach Resort gave us that escape. In the past I have stayed at Marriott Resort next door… which is filled with scream kids, families galore, and a very expected family type environment.
Marco Beach Resort rooms were great. Every one of them look out at the ocean, which can’t be said for other rooms. The living room was a little small, but it is a sacrifice for a kitchen and balcony. The beds were comfortable, the rooms great, and beach out of this world.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights there and wish we could do more! We will go back.
