Specialties

We specialize in providing a relaxing, clean, laid back atmosphere, outstanding food and amazing cocktails !! Step thru our door and you’ll find yourself at a little tiki bar in Key West. Order a 52 oz Rum Runner and get in that vacation spirit !! All our food is fresh, never frozen and homemade right here, not bought at some big box store and kept in the freezer until you order it. Our best selling menu items are the Steak sandwich served tender and juicy on a toasted roll with butter sautéed onions/mushrooms and melted provolone; Garlic Cheese Fries (named Crack Fries by the regular crowd, who just can’t get enough) crispy fresh cut, cooked to order fries spread with homemade garlic cheese spread, topped with bacon, popped under the broiler and served with sour cream; the ¾ pound Blue Moon burger stuffed with blue cheese topped with more blue cheese and crispy bacon or our Teri Yaki Chicken sandwich that features almost a half pound of charbroiled chicken tenderloin topped with melted Swiss, our awesome Teri Yaki sauce crispy bacon and grilled pineapple on a butter toasted roll. These and many more fresh, homemade items will keep you coming back for more. On Saturdays and Sundays we offer our Marvelous Mary !! She’s got 3 ounces of Absolute Vodka, Chilled Marinated Shrimp, a German smoked Landjager sausage stick, marinated asparagus and mushrooms, pepperoncini, pickles, olives, celery, green onion and a cup of our garlic cheese with pretzel sticks on the side

History

Established in 2011.

This historic little building has been home to numerous bars and restaurants since the early 40’s. In 2011, frustrated by the fact that moving to Florida didn’t seem to be in the cards for us (too many grandchildren in the area !) we decided to bring the Keys here. We brought in different elements from some of our favorite little bars in Florida. The wine bottles from Parrotdice Bar on Little Torch Key became hanging lights, the bamboo wrapped around the bar and the paintings on the walls mimic those found at the Caribbean Club in Islamorada and the bar top is just like the one at the outdoor bar on Duval in Key West. It all pulled together to become a place where everyone seems to feel as laid back as a day in a hammock in the sun. Mission Accomplished !

Meet the Business Owner

Mary and MoonDog J.

Business Owner

I have always loved cooking, a tradition shared with love with by all the women in my family and MoonDog has always liked to drink and that is pretty much why we’re here ! In all honesty, we wanted a place that we, as slightly older folks (!) felt comfortable without being stodgy. A place were hospitality was key, the food was phenomenal and the beer was cold. I was an accountant and MoonDog was a trucker and we both just wanted a change, and so the Full Moon was born. Full Moon was my CB handle when I drove truck many years ago. MoonDog has been MoonDog forever, so the Full Moon Saloon seemed to be just the right name to call this labor of love.
