Coach Cole or Grandinho as he affectionately known in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community earned his Black Belt from Master Carlos David Oliveira in 2014 and is currently one of only two Americans promoted to the rank of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt in the United States by Master Oliveira. Coach Cole has trained extensively in Freestyle and Greco Roman Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, Aikido, and Kickboxing. Coach Cole has been involved in combat sports since the age of 6 years old when he began wrestling with the Boys and Girls club as well as boxing with the New York City Police Athletic League (PAL). Coach Cole is an accomplished wrestler and has trained with World class wrestlers at the legendary New York Athletic Club (NYAC).

Coach Cole is a 3 X Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champ, 3 X Pan Am Champion, 3 X Abu Dhabi Pro Silver medalist as well as countless other championships to his credit. He received his purple and brown belts from 9^th Degree Red Belt Wilson Mattos a student of one of the BJJ founding fathers Oswaldo Fadda. Grandinho began his BJJ training with Renato Tavares a student under legendary Carlson Gracie. He is the founder of the Grandinho Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association and co-​founder of the Champion Factory Fight Team with team locations in South Florida, Plant City, Florida, Bronx, New York, Jamaica, and Dominican Republic.
