A Classy Flea

I came in one day out of curiosity. I was pleased to find a wall of tin signs. I came back every so often to check out the new ones, they will even order ones they don’t have.

This store was nice to look at yet the staff was aloof about the «all sales final»
I purchased a couple pieces of distressed wood to see if they would fit in a design. $ 22 investment. They did not work in my space.
When I returned to the store to return the items one clerk shrugged her Shoulders the other in a very condescending tone said «sorry… All sales are final»
I asked where as I hadn’t realized that she posted to a ⁸⁄₁₁ piece of paper on the wall that was not visible from the counter unless I moved around to purchase the items at a different part of their L shaped check out area. In an unconcerned tone she added. «It also printed on your receipt.
I guess if I had lifted the white receipt they stapled over the yellow ticket. It may have been clear.
Not impressed. Their are many other wonderful stores that will get our $ going forward.

I love the classy flea, I have shopped here for years and have never been disappointed in the price or quality. If you are looking for something to fit into a certain spot in your house they have it and 4 others to choose from.

Look, I love the flea, okay? It is your typical vendor set up, but they don’t allow certain things. You won’t find vinyl here (said, I know.) No purses everywhere. No garbage (you know what I mean) The prices are FAR lower than most Marietta antique stores. It’s cleaner than the others. It doesn’t have that smell. You know the one. The staff is super nice– Especially Santa! I have gotten some BARGAINS here, too. The pricing is superb, the quality is fantastic. I got two mechanical light up reindeer from the flea last Christmas– the 4 foot ones that go in the front yard– for $ 20 each. The coolest book– Dr. Seuss’ WWII cartoons– $ 8. Numerous knickknacks, trunks, chairs, serving platters, frames, candles, etc. All well priced, all beautiful. It’s truly a great place– I rarely strike out with a visit to the Flea!

I think this place is alright. There’s plenty of parking, since it shares a parking lot with several other stores (including a Goodwill, hinthint), and its medium size means you can get in and out fairly quickly. But, honestly, I didn’t really see anything that interested me. I’ve been antiquing and thrifting at enough places by now, that I can generally tell within about 30 minutes if I’ll be able to find anything that strikes my fancy. I left here empty handed.
There’s a constantly rotating array of items as evidenced by the HUGE display of Christmas things when I came here. I went to a few other antique/​thirifting places and they all seem to have a lot of that unnecessary Christmas crap. (i.e. animation Santas, outdoor reindeer directions, etc.) I also get that feeling I get in certain places, where the people that own a shop are sort of watching me and following me around because they think I’ll end up stealing from them… That’s a feeling I hate, especially since I make a darn good living wage.
PROS:
Smallish/​medium size makes it easy to navigate.
NEUTRAL:
If you’re looking for knick knacks and small items, this seems to have a lot of those things.
CONS:
No vintage clothes, books, or records. The closest things I saw were vintage-​styled aprons.
No greeting, though the people that came in directly behind me got one.
Tons of Christmas… Well, crap.
Fairly pricey. There were similar items to the Goodwill in the same lot, at about three times the price.
I got the sense that I was being followed and watched, because they feared I might steal things. Sigh. I haven’t felt like that in a while.
THE VERDICT:
I wouldn’t make a special trip out here, and I’m honestly a little disappointed in the selections after reading such glowing reviews. I saw very little vintage artifacts, and it looked to be mostly flea market type kitsch with a few things that were marketed as vintage, but definitely weren’t. It’s not the type of place you’d go to get lost a few hours… More like the type of place you’d go to find small gifts or local artistic endeavors for gifts.

They genuinely were concerned about this review and they made it right. Thank you A Classy Flea.

I was NOT impressed. Everything is really overpriced. This is an antique shop pretending to be a flea market. While they had a nice Halloween display for the season, I had no interest in anything else. There was an antique market right nearby that was much, much better as far as prices and selection.

Love this cute store! My family recently moved to GA and my mom shops here… … a lot. When I flew out to visit, my mom brought me to The Classy Flea and we spents HOURS looking around. Very good customer service, but could do without the political smack down. Otherwise, LOVE this store! Reasonable prices and a lot of antique items. Could really find a ruby in the sand here! Oh! And a great arrangement of jewelry! Gorgeous!

I went to A Classy Flea looking for a small dresser. Other vintage/​thrift stores maybe had one available, but the selection here was great. I was able to find a great dresser at a good price. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a guy to load the piece into my car.
The only downside was when I got it home and discovered some spiders underneath the dresser along with really dirty inner drawers. I understand that it’s secondhand, but I do think the booth renters should clean the items better than this one was.

If I could… I would redecorate my whole home from A Classy Flea. If this shabby chic vintage look is your style, the prices and selections cannot be beat. It’s a rather large store and has a very good layout. The vendors bring in new items often so you can go fairly regularly and spot some great new finds! Also if you pay in cash, you get a 10% discount. :)

one of the best flea markets in my area. they have everything — jewelry, furniture, cookware, clothing… I found a long, black wool coat for $ 35 dollars this winter (great find!)
The store has several levels/​rooms and is pretty big so when you go make sure you have time to browse so you don’t miss anything, It’s not the type of store you can walk through quickly. The ladies at the cashier counter are pretty knowledgeable about current inventory so if you’re looking for something specific, please ask them and they just may be able to lead you straight to it-​and much more.
it’s not a flea market in the typical «another man’s junk…» sense of the word — there are quality items, some brand new and some used, for very reasonable prices.
The classy flea is a great place to shop for anything you may need around the house or for gifts.

This place is my home away from home. I’ve bought several items here (a dining set, some Bombay furniture and little things) and have never been disappointed with any of it.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the vendors change out their stock often. You could go there every weekend and see something different. They change the front area a lot so you can see some of the bigger pieces but overall, the place is easy to walk through and a bargain-​hunters treasure trove.
Did I mention I love this place?

One week in to living back in Atlanta and I have found thrifting nirvana.
I wandered in here on a Monday morning. Holy heck. This place is awesome. Such great stuff. Bigger items like desks, tables and a wide variety of chairs. Random nick nacks and frames. All very reasonably priced. I went in looking for a specific size of table and did not find it, but not worries. I left with a small apothercary jar, an adorable little deocrative box and a framed wine print. All for 20 bucks. It will take a lot of restraint not to return immediately. The furniture selection was amazing. If you need an accent chair for a room, go here. They have some realy great unique pieces.
The staff was also super helpful. When my hands were full, a woman took my stuff to the front. While checking out, we struck up a nice conversation. Then a male employee held the door open for me as I left. Service and selection like that will make a repeat customer of me. Time and time again.

Last time I visited, I got a Shel Silverstein book (A Light in the Attic) and THOUGHT about buying an awesome dresser. Nuff said? Okay definitely not’nuff.
The Classy Flea is a pretty accurate name. It is a flea market but with some really nice, neat items for sale.
The store is huge, which I feel is a requirement of any antique store, so you can wander inside for days. I personally don’t find small antique shops very appealing — I think it is because, I usually go in having no idea what I’m looking for (if anything) so I want there to be a greater chance of finding SOMEthing that I’m into.
The prices are reasonable (less expensive than Dupre’s on the Square, I’d say) and it’s in a cool enough area that if you’re just meandering or window shopping you can find a couple other places to stroll into afterward.

I have been back here several times, and let me tell you: This place rocks!
I think they may have switched some dealers and lowered their prices.
As far as antiques/​furniture goes– this place is awesome. So much to see and chose from! You will definitely find something worthy of a purchase.
I am so sorry I mis-​judged A classy flea in the beginning.
I am making an effort to repair the relationship ;) just ask my living-​room/​kitchen/​bedroom/​dining room which is all filled with «knick-​knacks» from this place!
I highly recommend going here on a Sat morning– their sidewalk sales are pretty decent!

A Classy Flea outfitted a large part of my first place in Atlanta, and for good reason. They’ve got interesting stuff: a nice mix of true vintage and just general second-​hand finds. Prices aren’t Goodwill low but they are certainly low enough, and it’s all presented in a much-​nicer-​than-​Goodwill way.
It can be hit or miss, so I wouldn’t go there expecting to trick out your whole pad, but if you’re in the area it’s certainly worth a stop: you never know what you may find.

I love this place! it is so easy to get lost in here on a Sunday afternoon. There is a great assortment of art, furniture, décor and jewelry… and at a wide range of prices.
I generally antique for the «those» pieces… the ones that you cannot live without, make a statement and take forever to find. Several of my collection have come from A Classy Flea. It’s a great place to take a girl friend and if you can’t find anything… you can go thrifting at Goodwill, Value Village and a few others down the road.

I came here for the first time last weekend and I was expecting your typical thrift store however, I was very pleasantly surprised by all of the antiques, treasures, and ecclectic items there were.
I love, love, love thrift stores. I love going, even if I don’t come out with anything. I thought a Classy Flea would be mostly clothing items and maybe a few household things, like most thrift stores I’ve gone to but that was definitely not the case here. They have old pictures that look like they came from estate sales. You know, the old ones that are even more black and white than the black and white pictures of the 50s. These pics are from when boys wore gowns and it was considered typical. The women have the stern faces of folks who wake up at 4am and work all day to clean the house and raise seven kids. It’s really awesome.
I came away lucky from my first visit. I found a set of four bowls that exactly match a saucer and plate that my mom gave me that was my grandma’s and my great-grandma’s. How great is that? And the set was only $ 9.99. I brought them home and promptly washed them and added them to my collection. I still get the warm fuzzies when I look at them.
