I just can’t in good conscious recommend this gym! In its current state, it is dirty, dated, lacks gym etiquette, and most importantly management investment.
The silver sneaker program seems strong for sure!
Treadmills, tanning beds, weights, equipment all purchased ²⁰⁄₃₀ years ago. Every treadmill or elliptical has at least a million miles! Expect an out of order sign! They’d save paper on what works!
I was a member for 14 years! Mostly because it was cheap! But they are not competitive in the current environment! And are way to proud!
Staff is super friendly and under staffed! Nobody cleans up, trainers included.
All said, I quit! Went to LA fitness. I’d give it 1 star, but it seems there is a new commitment from recent management. They’re to late for me, but my wife continues as a member. Thus star 2.
Will check in later, but it needs work!

Disgusting place, terrible management. If you want to catch a disease, a visit to their wet area might provide the opportunity you’re looking for. If there is a problem, expect the manager, Rob, to blow you off.
I’ve been having issues with one of their members who likes to steam their private parts in the steam room and then uses a brush to brush her disgusting dead skin off her body, all over the steam room. I’ve reported the problem four times an then finally reached out to Rob. He didn’t return either message I left, but I was finally able to get him on the phone. He was very interested in getting me off the phone, basically saying «Sorry you have a problem, but without the member’s name, I can’t help you.» He wasn’t interested in hearing about the problem. I asked if he wanted to chat about it on the phone or read about it on the internet. He voted discussion. So we discussed it. He said he’d call the owners and see how they wanted to handle the disgusting woman, and then called me back saying that the owners said he didn’t have to do anything… unless I provided him with a name, but even then «what she was doing wasn’t wrong.» I’m sorry, but if you’re crouching over the steam vent with your privates inches from it and THEN you brush your dead, disgusting skin all over the steam room, THAT IS WRONG!
And BTW, EVERYONE who works there knows who the offender is, because when I call and ask if she’s there (because if she is, I won’t go), everyone knows who I’m talking about.
I thought I was getting a great deal at $ 12/​month for life, but I feel like my life will be cut short by whatever diseases the disgusting woman is spreading. I hate to give up the membership to a gym so close to my house, but if they don’t care about the health of their members, what’s the point in paying to catch a disease? Disgusted. I hope the owners run out of money, fire Rob and sell the gym to a company who DOES care about public health.

Alright: If you’re making a serious decision on a gym locally, then this review is for you. Broken down for your ease.
Location: Very convenient, near the intersection of Piedmont and Sandy Plains. Parking is plentiful except during peak hours where you my find yourself a couple shops over. ⁴⁄₅ stars. This shouldn’t bother you much because, well, you need the exercise.
Staff: One of the best parts. Very friendly staff. Been here for almost 5 months and I know most of them by name. They don’t bother you during workouts and try to ensure everyone is happy. ⁵⁄₅
Equipment: Alright, this is not even close to an LA fitness. The machines are older, some are worn and make squeeks. I personally enjoy a more ‘industrial’ style environment because it motivates me. However there not many squat racks, during busy times the flat benches get taken up quick, the weights area is a lot smaller than LA fitness. ³⁄₅
Cleanliness: This is an older shopping center. The building has had some leaks, floors and walls are a little worn. The bathrooms are pretty well kept. Showers are sometimes a little ‘eehhh’ toward the end of the day. Occasional manly chest hair may be near the drain. Rarely run into a situation where I am waiting on bathroom or shower. Pool area looks terrible in my opinion, looks like sea algae in the pool. ³⁄₅
Music: Sucks (generic gym hits), unless you are there at night and they opt to put some hard rock. ²⁄₅
Security: They have cameras in the gym but none in the locker room. Had instances where some nice shoes were stolen out of an open locker. If you come, don’t bring valuables. Bring a lock for your locker unless its just a towel and spare generic clothes. ²⁄₅
Price: I paid for a full year membership up front, cost came out to a little over $ 20 a month. Awesome deal in my opinion. It has the equipment I needed for cardio and strength training. They also have muscle/​recovery shakes near the desk. They are WAY overpriced. I wouldn’t buy one unless you are about to pass out. Typically 50% more expensive than in Kroger or Walmart. ⁴⁄₅
Overall: If you are dead set on getting the nicest gym, go to LA fitness. If you want a more mom-​and-​pop feel and can handle a hit in quality for a great cost savings, then come to Cosmos. It not going to ‘wow’ you but it will let you take care of your fitness needs.
