So I won these super sexy, foxy-lady-magnet wingtip boots on eBay, only to find that the heels were worn all the way to the wood block. Bummer. I called around to get some quotes, and as soon as the guy from Heel Sew Quick picked up the phone, I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld. First the guy yelled at me for not asking my question fast enough. Then he lectured me for asking for the price of resoling instead of the price of reheeling. When I got there and asked if it’d be worth getting them resoled while I was there, he looked at me like I had something stuck in my teeth and dismissed me with a wave of his hand. And when my boots were done, he got all fussy when I took more than a microsecond to find my ticket number. Really, it was hilarious. He was like the lovable, belligerent uncle I never had. The service was cheap and quick enough to do justice to the business’s name. I only had time to visit H&M, the watch store and a bathroom before my boots were good to go, upgraded with Goodyear soles and housed in a crinkled plastic bag. So far, I’ve only gotten compliments on my boots from dudes, but I’d go back to Heel So Quick in a heartbeat.

this is my spot for repairing my busted heels thanks to Atlanta streets. I usually drop off a bag of shoes for repair which usually takes a day or 2 to complete because of the amount I am giving them to repair. I once had a pair of boots(gasp! man-made) that were scuffed up at the toe. One of the guys said that he couldn’t get shoe polish to match the color or get the scruff out. The owner took a look at my boot and said that he would be able to fix it. He was able to match up a polish and after several applications the scuff was out. He didn’t quote me a price, he simply stated just tip what I feel is sufficient. Of course, i tipped very well and I am a very loyal customer to this day.

recommend this place for shining and putting new soles on. however, i had issues with a pair of «worn in» looking shoes(bought that way). when i was asking questions about the repair/putting new soles on, the guy raised his voice at me and asked if i have ever been to a shoe store before– kinda shut me up. I am no princess, but not really the best way to treat a customer who is gonna drop $ 45 on getting new soles. he asked me later what color polish– i recommended neutral– he kept saying he thought he saw black in the leather — so i go with his thoughts– black. i picked them up and they looked totally different– like black army shoes. it sucks because the original look of the shoe was totally lost. i dont know what to do with my shoes– that is why i take them to a shoe place– this guy disappointed me because i felt like he lacked the expertise to deal with my shoes. I took them down the street to another guy who was friendly, took the time to chat with me and explain what needed to be done, and he understood how the shoe should look — the worn in/vintage look. he stripped the polish and put neutral on it WITHOUT a high shine because that is not the look of the phone. he even replaced the sole(he said the other one was too thick for my shoe) without charging me. plus he was friendly. heel sew quick is good for polishing simple black shoes, but based on this experience cant say i will be going back.
