Years ago I would occasionally come to this location of Jerusalem Bakery, though I tended to go to the Alpharetta location more often. I have no idea what I stopped coming here because the food is delicious. The first few revisits, I tried a few different menu items but lately have been ordering the same thing, the Chicken Shwarma combo with Hummus and a drink. The sandwich is so filling and my toddler eats a fair amount of the hummus, leaving me with just enough to eat without over indulging. The only slight fault I have seen, and it is so minor that I do not knock a star off, is that the television seems to always be frozen. Once it was frozen with a man pointing a gun, something my toddler commented on. The other times it has been frozen on things I can not even remember. I wish they would just turn the TVs off if they do not work.

Quick and super tasty. Also, the best falafel I’ve had in years. I’ve gotten to go orders from here a few times for my company and they all love it. The Beef Shwarma is a masterpiece and the sides are great as well.

Nom nom nom. So I’ve been to the Jerusalem bakery in alpharetta and now I find this one. They are owned by the same family, both locations are phenomenal but have their subtle differences. The main difference i notice are in the sandwich/wraps. To start, the one in marietta is not as round, however, it was longer and served a lot warmer, the one in alpharetta was more like a wrap and this one is a delicious Mediterranean burrito The filling is also different, not diced. Also, their fresh baked pitas are thicker/fluffier and you get TWO:) it seems that you get a lot more food here, which i don’t mind at all.

Shawarma wrap was delicious, one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Shawarma plate was large with plenty of food. Falafel were small but priced very affordable for 6 or 12 pieces, the salads are large portioned as well. They have a wide range of fresh baklava and baked breads. Very tasty place and friendly as well! Thank you!

My friend wanted to look at some homes at Cobb area so we went to check out a few places. By the time we were done, we were so hungry. Given today is a New Year’s Eve, many places were closed. He said I should try Jerusalem Bakery especially it has a 4.5 stars on Unilocal.I said to call ahead to make sure it was opened. He came back and said the place would be opened till 9pm tonight. Great! Like Ameer’s, this is another place of not much ambience. I guess I am beginning to expect places which serve such Mediterranean food not offer much ambience to the patrons. I decided to order the very predictable chicken kabob. The staffs seemed friendly but the wait was long. There were no one at the restaurant waiting for food so I wonder what took the food so long. My friend said perhaps they made the kabobs from scratch. Sure sure! By this time, I was famished. I kept smelling food but no food for us. After like eons and luckily I had not yet pass out, the food came out for us. I took one kabob skewer and started wolfing down the chicken. I was so hungry, eating while telling my friend«The chicken kabob at Ameer’s is better». He said«Really? But the Arabs like this place better.» I replied, «But I am not Arab!» He said, «Yeah, the chicken overdone, kind of dry.» When we finished our food, we tried to clear the plates. I ended making a mess since there is no open thrash bin to throw the leftover food but the usual trash can with a flap. This caused a bit of mess when I tried to clean the leftover into the thrash before placing the ceramic plate on top of it. This 3 stars solely on the restaurant. I didn’t buy any bread from there but saw my friend piling those breads up for his mom who planned to freeze them.

First of all, let me say this: these guys are good at what they do. The food is very solid, and their service is on-point. In fact, I come here at least once every 2 – 3 weeks for lunch since I work nearby. So far, I’ve had their shawermas(beef and chicken), falafel, hummus, tabouleh, bean salad, various pies(spinach, meat, cheese), baklava, and the honey cake. They were all good in terms of freshness. More often than not, however, they lack punch when it comes to flavor. Here’s what I ultimately base my ratings on: *4-stars = I will drive out of my way to come eat here with friends on weekends. *3-stars = I like the place and will continue eating here, but only if I’m in the area. If I lived in Cobb, this place would probably be a regular spot in the rotation(and technically, it already is). The thing is that I don’t live in Cobb, and if craving Middle Eastern on weekends, I would rather drive to Roswell/Sandy Springs(several great options there) or head towards Ameer’s near Emory. These are the 4-star spots, due to the excellence of their food. Jerusalem Bakery = Mediterranean Grill. A good lunch diner, if in the area.

The bakery is good but the staff at the restaurant side are very rude and talk about customers in their face not knowing the some may understand them. This made the experience very distasteful and they should try to keep every customer since there was not many to begin with. Also the staff seem very unethical and I will advise avoid this place. Not worth the time since the food very nothing special. Also got sick after eating there too.

Jerusalem bakery restaurant and grill is truly a place to try, very delicious the staff was friendly and very informative. The atmosphere inside wasn’t busy the interior had a Jerusalem feel to it with some I believe hand painting on the walls the place has nice long booths to sit in and next door was a bakery where u can look around before your meal or after for desserts So I asked for a run down of what they offered and I got a clear picture and very tasty options to choose from. The lady offered a combo special they had it consisted of a shawarma either beef or chicken a side(fires, hummus, or their salad) and a drink for $ 8.89 I order the beef shawarma with everything(mixed veggie and tahini sauce) with a side of hummus and a drink Food took about 8 – 10 min give or take a few but came out fresh and prompt. The meat was very tasty I would have preferred a bit more meat in the shawarma for the price when I saw it I compared it to Willies burritos for 8 bucks they add a lot of chicken or beef. That’s probably the only thing I had wrong food wise and that really wasn’t all that bad of a thing. Other then the minor problems above I would highly recommend it to other. I will definitely be back soon to try more food on their menu

Awesome place!!! My family and I usually get our baked goods from here and they never disappoint! Came in and needed about 30 of their speciality pies and they insisted on making me fresh ones! He said«it’s ok you sit for 20 minutes I make you fresh ones!» And 20 minutes we sat! Super nice people and our baked goods were even better!!! Haven’t had their sandwiches but it’s on my list!

I was here with a bunch of my friends and was able to try quite a few dishes. I would have given 5* if they can replace their tiles for some good grip floor. It was a trip hazard for all my friends who moved slow and cautious during our lunch. 1. Falafel wrap was good but not great compared to other Mediterranean restaurants. 2. Veg platter was also good, it would have been great if the hummus was made with right consistency. 3. Lamb Shank was awesome falling of the bone and i happened to suck the bone narrow of it as well. 4. Jerusalem Platter: we opted for chicken and lamb kabobs they turned out pretty falvorfull, cooked well. 5. Chicken Shish Tawook: is awesome juicy chicken with well cooked rice. 6. Chicken Schawrma: after trying all the above dishes this one did not impress me well. Finally bakhlaws: they were great as well especially pistachio filled one.

I am in love with their chicken shawarma. People are super nice at this location. Price is actually expensive for a sandwich but it is definitely a delicious sandwich. Beef shawarma is bad. Don’t know where to start but it doesn’t taste like beef at all.

Jerusalem Bakery is a good restaurant, and I really enjoy eating their food. The food is authentic, generally delicious, and a joy to eat. My favorite dish when I went was the beef shawarma sandwich, and I learned to love the tabolli salad. And one day I will try their pizza, which I’m sure is great and fresh, but I haven’t been back to enjoy the Israeli cooking since getting sick twice in a row.

Jerusalem bakery is pretty great! We walked in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic. The chicken shawarma sandwich which comes as a wrap was better than I expected. They pressed the wrap so it was really easy to eat with very little mess. The baba ganoush was delicious as well. The smoked eggplant flavor was on point and the hummus was smooth which went well with my sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the chicken shawarma entrée and he enjoyed his menu choice. He actually had plenty of hummus leftover which made for a great evening snack later that night. Being a huge fan of red cabbage and pickles, it was a nice touch to see both in my sandwich and the amount of sauce they added was just enough to make it tasty. There is outdoor seating which overlooks the parking lot and some tables and booths inside. You’re expected to place your order upfront and then wait for your number to be called. The food came out quick and was fresh/hot. We both agreed that this is definitely a place we’ll add on our roster of «weekend eats» because the chicken shawarma meat was so tender and juicy. That alone won us over. Looking forward to future visits here for lunch or a light dinner.

So got a bit turned around when I tried to get to this spot. If you are coming from S. Marietta Pkwy, you want to turn where there is the no U-turn sign. But you can’t do a U-turn! You can, however, do a U-turn at the next break in the median. It looks like you can drive into that lot and that it connects to where Jerusalem Bakery is but it DOESN’T. D’oh. But I wasn’t the only one that made that mistake. :-) The guy right in front of me did the exact same thing. Amazing timing. There are two entrances. The one to the left is the bakery. The one to the right is the restaurant. They are connected though so you can enter either way. Ordering is a breeze. Put in your order and sit down. I don’t know why some folks were just standing by the register. Just chill a minute. Food is ready super fast. Went to the bathroom and my food was ready about 1 min later. Wow. They will call your number so hold on to your receipt. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich(no pickles) with fries on the side. They only gave me two ketchup packets for my fries. Really? I ended up going back for more later. The cashier gave me a bunch then! The fries were very bland. Thank God for ketchup. The sandwich was huge! I knew there was no way I was going to finish it. And I did end up taking a bit home. The sandwich came with cabbage, tomato, sauce, and perhaps something else. Great choices. Upon first bite, I wasn’t a fan of the sandwich. But I got to get a bit more flavor as I got further into it. It seemed that a lot of the sauce just drained to the bottom. Overall, I found the chicken to be bland and the flavor instead came from the toppings and sauce. I also ordered a baklava to go. Unfortunately, I dropped my to-go container coming into the house and it kinda fell apart. But I was able to put most of it back together. It was OK, but I wished it was juicier and sweeter. I think Jerusalem Bakery is an OK choice to dine. But I wouldn’t make a special trip out for it.

This Marietta Location: 4 Stars The Alpharetta Location: 2 Stars UPDATE9÷26÷2015− Still LOVE this place! Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was so flavorful and the Baba Ganoush smokey and delicious. 6÷23÷2015− I really like this casual little place. I’ve been multiple times and have never been disappointed. I like their Hummus, Chicken Shawarma and Falafel. Layers and layers of delicious flavors. I wandered into their bakery area and was amazed at all the pita bread racks. They must supply pita for every restaurant and shop in Cobb County. I also love their desserts and always get al tray of their Baklava Finger rolls. Delicious!

This is a little gem of a place, and a stand out in the East Cobb/Marietta area. Food: pretty much every time I come here, I get the beef schwarma combo with a side of pita and hummus. The hummus is OUTOFTHISWORLD good! Never even cared for hummus(home made or store bought) until I had this stuff. The schwarma itself is also fantastic. Lots of meat, you can customize it how you wish too. Flavor is well rounded and hearty. If you walk over to the bakery, the baklava is also some of the best I’ve had. Basically, this placed turned me into a fan of food that I had previously written off. Service is pretty good, the guys working there are friendly. It seems like there are a lot of regulars. Price is pretty fair, you can get the combo for under $ 10. Décor is a bit dated though, and could probably use a good scrub. Parking shouldn’t ever be a problem. Location is kinda tucked away, so you have to specifically go looking for the Jerusalem Bakery.

Ummm — I recently just discovered this place. Safe to say, I’ll be coming here weekly or every 2 weeks. I never knew Shawarma could be so good till now. I mean, I’ve had my fair share of it(maybe like 4 restaurants), but Jerusalem Bakery wins in this food category. It’s the bomb dot com. What’s also awesome about it: the combo + drink(I get the Chicken Shawarma + hummus) is SO much food for a great price($ 8.50ish). Seriously, I can eat half my meal and save it for dinner or next day… or if I’m really hungry at the time, I’ll just eat everything and be in a happy food coma. NOTE: it gets slammed during lunch, I highly recommend going early or coming in for a later lunch. Parking — they have a huge lot. Even during busy times, you’ll find one. No worries. Seating — So… this is where you’ll get in a pickle. They have indoor and outdoor seating. But if it’s not a pretty day outside, you’ll probably want to sit indoors. They have a few booths and I think 2 long tables, but… not enough during lunch rush. So busy! But eh, that’s a good thing. People tend to eat quickly and leave. Service — The line can get long, but they move quickly. You can also see the kitchen from the register. It’s pretty cool! Once the food is done, they’ll call your # out. May have to wait like 10 mins to get your food during a busy hour, not bad. People here are also really nice. BTW — get the garlic sauce when you order. Nomnom. I usually use it with the sriracha sauce they have at each table. It’s awesome! Food — Chicken Shawarma Sandwich comes out piping hot. The meat is very well cooked & all their additional ingredients go so well with the sandwich. The bread that’s used is very fresh & I can tell they go the extra mile to make sure it holds when eating the sandwich. Did I mention it’s big?! Definitely can cut it into 2 pieces if needed. Side — Hummus & Pita Bread. To be honest, if I ever crave these 2 items, I’ll drive up from the city and get them from here now. One of the best Hummus I’ve had. The Pita Bread always comes out HOT! They give you 2 slices, which is VERY generous. If at the end of your meal you want to take the Hummus & Bread home, you can. Jerusalem has specific containers. I think I’ve seen a lot of people order the Hummus as their side. Popular item. Can’t wait to try other items!!!

Why has it taken me so long to eat at Jerusalem Bakery?!? I met Jang C. here for lunch one day while I was working from home. This could be a dangerous new addiction. I ordered the chicken shawarma lunch combo with hummus as my side item. I loved my shawarma! The garlic sauce that they put on the sandwich is crazy good. The hummus and huge piece of pita bread I got were awesome as well. I imagine that I will be eating here often from here on out now that I’ve finally seen the light. Thanks, Jang, for the introduction!

Yum-O! Jerusalem Bakery was exactly what I needed on a cold and cloudy afternoon. This trip was my first time ever trying shawarma(gasp! I know!) and I was really excited to get my hands on it. I love gyros so I figured this couldn’t be too far from it. The shawarma was out of this world! I chose to get the lunch combo with chicken, a side of freshly made hummus and pita for dipping, and a drink. The total was $ 9 and change after tax which wasn’t a bad deal considering how much food you got. The sandwich itself is enormous and they give you two large pita halves to dunk in your hummus. Plenty of carb love here! The shawarma was filled with crispy, caramelized meat, veggies, and sauce which all melded into one perfect bite. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now! The restaurant itself is pretty small with Formica style tables and chairs for dining. A large number of people came in for pick-up orders or placed take-out orders while I was there though. The guys behind the counter have it down to a science and were able to handle the traffic extremely well. The bakery cases are sizable and have lots of delectable bites for after lunch. They also have a huge wall filled with homemade baked breads and pitas to take home with you! Made daily in-house, they are super affordable too. Four pitas the size of my face for $ 2?! Yes, please. The only negative during my last visit was that they were chopping onions while our party was eating. My eyes instantly began to water and stayed irritated for most of the meal. I love that they keep all their ingredients fresh and have the assembly line in view, but if they could move some of the prep to the back it would make it much more pleasant.
