Visited for the first time today — TOTALLY worth the trip OTP. They have a *great* selection of yarns, were as friendly as could be, and always around to assist when needed. Their prices are comparable to the ranges that were at Knitch(generally the $ 10-$ 15/skein range), however in my view being able to feel & see yarn in person –especially with how picky I am about color– makes it worth it. Couldn’t tear myself out of there — I’ll definitely be back!

Tucked DEEP into one of those labyrinthian mini-strip malls is this lovely little store greeting you with a yarn-bombed bike and tree trunk — so festive! Abby the shih tzu(so sorry if I got the breed wrong) greeted me and my daughters VERY happily — they totally forgot about asking for the Wifi password for their technology(their main means of staying entertained while I browsed). Staff was very comfortable with my well behaved children, which is always a plus. The selection was nicely varied, but prices were slightly more elevated than online stores. I was very pleased that a crocheting expert was on-hand to engage me with a very quick 5-minute«hey, let me open up a whole new world of thought for you so you don’t have to feel like crocheting is so inferior to knitting» conversation.(I’m primarily a crocheter and always feel looked down upon in «fancy» yarn stores.) One thing that I found lacking in the store was seating. It didn’t really see like the kind of place where you could go in with some of your work, take a chair, and ask questions about it or take classes or just visit with friends for a bit. It wasn’t the very best yarn store that I’ve been in, but it was superior to almost all the others. I’ll be back!

The women in there were extremely helpful. The owner and the other sales associate were friendly and they had a beautiful selection. I asked them about a yarn I was interested in. They didn’t carry it but the owner went and looked it up to see if they carried something comparable. So nice!

I accidentally ended up here one day when my boyfriend and I were looking for Fleet Feet Sports. We stopped in front of this place, I noticed it was a yarn shop, and he convinced me that we couldn’t leave without popping in. He’s a keeper! The shop is cute and cozy, they have a GREAT selection of yarns(including some that I haven’t had easy access to since Knitch closed), and the staff was super friendly. I don’t know how I hadn’t heard of this shop before! Now that I see they’re technically in Marietta, I wonder if maybe I just ignored it because it seemed too far away. I will most definitely be back in when I have a project in mind! I wish I lived closer and could pop in for their open knitting groups.

This place is wonderful! Yesterday was the second time I visited this place and the staff here is AWESOME! Your greeted right off the bat by friendly staff but they are not over bearing. They are always willing to help when you need something. The books, yarn, patterns and needles are all organized really well and everything is easy to find. The only downside is they are a little more expensive than other yarn shops around town but after the way I was treated(see my review for cast on cottage) and other yarn stores around Atlanta I would gladly go here over anywhere else.

The friendliest knitting shop I’ve been to in the Atlanta area(out of four shops). They were so helpful and friendly that I signed up for a class. Lots of beautiful yarn and accessories. This is my new go-to shop. I don’t understand why the other shops in this area are so unfriendly. It’s weird. You’d think they would encourage customers to feel welcome and spend money.

What a wonderful store. Friendly, lots of beautiful yarn, every thing that you would want… but a little pricy. Yarn and books are the normal price but patterns are $ 2-$ 3 more than normal and what you can get them from Ravelry for. Hay… they do have to maintain a store front, and they do have samples so it’s not un reasonable but it did irk me to pay $ 9.85 for a $ 6 pattern. Other than that it is highly recommended that said, I would definately go back.

Killing time in Atlanta, trying to work off the amazing fried cheese grits from OK Café, a friend and I dropped by Lovin’Knit yarn Shop. I am a beginner knitter — but boy — if you like color? and sparkle? and texture? — sign me up!!! As soon as I stepped into the shop I was in a fabric daze. My poor friend had to go sit on one of the comfy chairs and wait while I decided really how much yarn could possibly stuff into my already full up weekend bag!!! The ladies there were all so sweet, so helpful — they even tried to teach my friend to knit!!! I bought some yarn that came with a pattern and they made sure I understood how the pattern was worked and even showed me some of the more difficult stitches. I will definitely go back there again when I am in Atlanta!!! A great place to go and just hang out, learn some new stitches or take a class — what a gem of a store!!!

A wonderful find! I have frequented several Atlanta area knit shops in the past 6 months and have found even the most visually appealing and best stocked to be positively chilly when I’ve asked for help, even when I was obviously making a purchase. One wonders if the staff really likes or even wants customers. All changed the moment I walked into Lovin’ Knit. The staff and owner embraced me as a friend, guided me through making choices, delighted in showing me the wide selection of yarns, colors and patterns, and willingly answered easy and difficult questions. I have since returned as often as once a week and observed the warm welcome, helpful assistance and wide selections of yarns and patterns to be hallmarks of this jewel of a yarn shop. Quite a few customers gather as new-found friends on Tuesday mornings or evenings for Knit Night(or morning). Who could ask for anything more?

Went in this afternoon looking for some help on a crochet afghan that I just started. I am definitely a novice and do not yet even know how to knit… one thing at a time. At first the store was a little overwhelming since(as I later found out) the entire staff was there helping switch out winter inventory for spring/summer lines. However, all of the ladies were super friendly and in no time made me feel at-ease. I purchased a new crochet needle and some variegated wool and am happy to say that they are much easier than what I have been using! Many thanks to Stacy who recognized a newcomer immediately and was open and friendly with her introductions and Janet who was very patient and inviting with her instruction and recommendations. The store front itself is fantastic and if they don’t have it, they will order it for you. Not just yarns, but needles, bags, information(books and mags) and a multitude of accessories. Lovin’Knit is fabulous one-stop shop for all of your knitting /crocheting needs. Couple of things: — The store is in the Paper Mill Village and is toward the back of the village, more off the road with lots of parking available. — They have a great website and offer classes, which I am considering joining, but they also have an «open knit» time where you can just go and hang out, get questions answered, etc.

I’ve visited pretty much every knitting/yarn shop in the Atlanta area and this one, by far, is my favorite! I’m a beginning knitter, I’ve completed a few scarves, but that’s about it– so I can use any guidance anyone has to offer! I loved how helpful the staff was here! I picked up a pattern off of the internet and they were more than willing to guide me around the store and show me which yarn would work best and what other materials I may be in need of. The options were plentiful and I ended up going with a bulky brown/red/celery/black yarn that’s baby alpaca– LOVE! Later on that day I returned to the shop frustrated and confused, having never knit with a circular needle. The women sat me down at the table and took a look at my progress and were so super helpful. I’m considering attending their weekly open knit night just to get some pointers and spend some time knitting with zero interferences. If you need pretty yarn and wonderful help, come here!

Over the past year since I renewed my interest in knitting, I have visited a number of yarn shops in the area like Knitch, The Whole Nine Yards, Needle Nook, and Cast-on-Cottage. Although each shop has its own ambiance, they have one thing in common – the staff is unfriendly. In fact, they can be quite rude at times. My experience at Lovin’Knit is just the opposite. From the first time I walked into their studio, I felt welcomed – like they were thrilled that I found them. When I needed help, the owner, Pat, and staff Stacy and Cindy immediately stopped what they were doing to help me(this happened even when they were busy). I feel special when I walk in their shop even though I’m dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. I appreciate the warm and caring way in which Pat, Stacy, and Cindy have welcomed me as part of their knitting family. I will be a loyal customer and I hope, a new friend.
