I love the doctors here. I have been going here since 2012 and delivered my daughter with this group. My main issue is with Michelle and her supervisor Marilyn. Pregnancy can be such a stressful time especially the $$ side. You try and call and get them to work with you and all they tell you is ‘apply for Medicaid’ repeatedly. My income is too high so I don’t qualify which I told them but it goes in one ear and out the other or it takes 2 weeks for them to return a phone call. I really don’t mind paying the money I owe… just wanted an extension and they weren’t able to accommodate that and have been extremely rude about the entire situation. If you have all kinds of extra $$ I would recommend Marietta obgyn, otherwise, RUN!
Oh and then they will chase you to the elevator to collect money if you have a balance due. Can’t wait to deliver my daughter and be done with this group. Doctors are fine. Office staff is absolutely horrible.

I called the office to make my first appointment. Already I was greeted with a rude person telling me what I couldn’t do. This is my second child and it has been some years but I thought your first visit was all about lab work and finding out how far along you were. Well i was mistaken she directed me to another doctors office for my ultra sound and I was told I couldn’t make an appointment until then. Not deterred I called another doctor from my list and encountered a completely different situation. The lady on the phone was pleasant and patient. I was booked for an appointment to get all my lab work and ultrasound done in house.

I just went through my first pregnancy with this group and I can’t say enough good things. From front desk to check out to doctors all very professional and truly care. I must say Dr. Sims delivered me and she was so comforting and helped me through one of the scariest experiences of my life. Dr. Sims is the best!!!

This experience was so very disappointing — and it just keeps on giving. So I initially went because of an issue I was having — they were nice and saw me even though I was a new patient. They worked me in — no real problem. I was a little late because no one gave me any direction on where they were, where to park, etc. Then, they had 800 forms for me to fill out when I got there (which they also did not tell me on the phone). The ladies at the front desk are not at all nice to you — poor form.
But, I saw the doctor — random one I was assigned — Stacey Sims. She was nice enough and we chatted quite a bit. I knew I was do for my annual appointment, but had a falling out with my last lady doc and had been looking for good recommendations. I had gotten this one from a Unilocaler friend — but she had recommended Dr. Tag. Dr. Tag couldn’t see me for this issue. But now, since I saw Dr. Sims, I was stuck with Dr. Sims.
Anyway — I scheduled my appointment for my annual for 2 weeks later. Now, please note that through ALL of this, not a single person told me that the practice OR the doctor were out of my network. What?! So by the time I went back for my annual, I had not received my EOB… but then after my annual — the double whammy came. HOLY MOLEY. Broke my bank!
But let’s go back to the annual — never in all my years has this happened. The most unfun part of the exam — the pap smear. Not a fun subject, I know. But it was relatively painless… considering. The issues came after. A week later, I get a call — a rather disturbing message that I needed to call ASAP. Okay, that’s not at all concerning (please not sarcasm). I finally get back to the nurse. Oh, nothing BIG. Just that the test results are inconclusive because — wait for it — they did not gather enough cells… So I need to come back for a repap (yes, they have a name for it) in 6 months.
So look, they effed up. And I get to pay for it — in time, discomfort and money. Oh yay. Fast forward 6 months later and I have received one phone call reminding me of the need for the appointment and today — in the mail — a letter trying to scare me into a repap or I could die. Thanks. You just sealed the deal that I will never come back.
So glad you care more about avoiding potential malpractice versus patient care.

Awful, inconsiderate, condescending, bitchy staff. You call in for an appointment and you’re treated like they’re doing you a favor. Trust me, princess, this isn’t an appointment to a spa. You’re about to mash my breasts like pancakes and use freezing metal instruments in precious, warm areas!
I’ve had debilitating migraines since age 11. After seeing countless specialists, I was told my headaches were hormone based so I discussed the possibility of getting a hysterectomy. This may seem extreme to some but for those that suffer from 10 – 15 migraines a month, you’d do anything to live headache free.
I mentioned I was doing my research about the possibility of a hysterectomy and the doctor flipped out on me. I am in my early 30’s and have no kids and while I’m confident with this decision the doctor shamed me. She asked me why I didn’t want kids at least ten times. Her mouth remained open in shock during our entire conversation. She suggested I go see a psychologist, talk to a counselor, get at least 15 professional opinions, and pray about it. Listen, if I thought prayer helped my headaches I’d dedicate my life to Jesus Christ and become a nun but come on lady, you «practice» medicine, let’s think logically. If my female family history shows migraines up to menopause, you do the math.
After literally talking the doctor of a ledge, I left angry and defeated. Don’t shove your beliefs down my throat just because I don’t want kids. I wouldn’t be debating such a serious decision if I didn’t do my homework.
Shame on you, Marietta OBGYN. Go force your opinions up someone else’s vagina!

Great customer service at either office, Marietta or West Cobb. Dr. Tag and her staff will make you feel extremely comfortable whether you are a new or returning patient, no matter what you are being seen for. She also does not overbook. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen.

I called the office with a concern, and Dr Tag was not available due to her popularity. I saw Cathy, NP, instead, in a hurry. Her nurse took my weight and I later learned she apparently didn’t record it. No big deal but what is the point?
In short, Cathy was fairly efficient but not overly friendly or sweet. Without much detail or explanation, she essentially helped but meh. The front desk and scheduling desk are okay. The amount of kindness, personableness, and professionalism by Dr Tag is why I won’t waste my time going to anyone else unless there’s a total emergency. She is definitely a diamond in the lady rough.

My experience with Marietta OB/​Gyn was awful, pretty much from the get-​go. I came to the practice a week before I found out I was pregnant with my second child. It’s a rotating practice, so every appointment is with a different provider, however they definitely steer you towards doctors instead of midwives. My first appointment with Dr. Carlos Alarcon was promising, he assured me that if I wanted to VBAC, it was an option with their practice. However, subsequent visits were not as good. I had recently been put on medication by an Endocrinologist (per my request) for a normally enlarged thyroid (goiter). I did NOT have hypothyroidism nor did I ever state I did. They continued to make assumptions every single visit I made, despite having my records faxed over and stating in every single follow up visit that I had a normal thyroid and I had been put on this medicine per my request to see if it would help with my weight and PCOS. I stopped taking the medication early into my pregnancy due to morning sickness. Each visit I met a new provider — each visit the providers pretended like they hadn’t seen me in a while. I kept having to say no, I’m new here it’s nice to meet you. It was so obviously fake and RUSHED every single appointment. It was as if they expected me NOT to want to see a doctor for my monthly OB visit and just get my routine blood work or whatever else they had scheduled for me. During my first «Official» OB visit, they sat me down with this completely incompetent woman named Michelle who runs their insurance program/​payment plans. They require you to prepay your deductible by like your 6^th month of pregnancy or they will dismiss you from the practice. This woman tried to get me to get on Medicaid first, I told her that was not an option that I needed my son to have health insurance and that I was not going to drop my current plan. They had charged me 3 co-​pays while I had already been seen, and so I asked Michelle to call my insurance while I was in there with her to confirm that my plan covered prenatal care at 100%. She called and confirmed. However, she kept telling me that it would all be settled at the end after I deliver and she wouldn’t be clear on whether or not I would owe them $ 1000 for 2013 and $ 1000 for when I deliver in Feb of 2014. She couldn’t answer any of my questions, I had to resort to calling my insurance who would then call her back. It was a nightmare. After seeing Dr. Elizabeth Tagechian for a f/​up visit, I was complaining of headaches that seemed to last about 3 – 4 days w/​o avail from acetaminophen. She told me to go see a neurologist, I said I didn’t need to see a specialist about headaches and she responded with «Of course you do, what if you have a tumor?» That is not ok with me, at all. I’m not going to be scared or bullied or pushed into that type of care. We pay doctors too much for them not to listen and push the responsibility of care onto someone else. After a subsequently awful follow up visit with Dr. Vonda Klein, I decided to leave the practice. In an effort to get a refund on the prepaid portion of my deductible, I followed the procedures necessary to do so — transferred my records to a new practice, and wait for them to file w/​my insurance and reconcile my account. However, when they filed my claims for the 4 – 5 prenatal visits to my insurance they filed them as OFFICE VISITS and not PRENATAL visits, meaning they would be collecting copays for all of those visits. When I called to follow up and find out why they improperly filed my insurance claims, they said that my care was considered office visits since I did not deliver with them. That’s total bullshit, I will not be punished for deciding to leave the practice. I have filed numerous complaints and I am currently pursuing collection of prepaid deductible. Do not go to this practice all they want is your money. They don’t care about their patients, they rush them out, they don’t listen, and they are obviously not all aligned with a cohesive practice philosophy. I expect if a practice supports a VBAC option, that all providers support it, not just one.
