They make it nearly impossible to make it in for an appointment. I’ve called over 10 times, left messages, and none of my attempts have been answered.

Had a Groupon and got a great massage! Had a rocky start making the appointment. Called and got no answer then got a return call from a different number to make the appt. Would go back but need to check their non-​Groupon prices.

RUN, SCAM, FRAUD, RUNNNNN… I am planning a trip for my Birthday to come to California and to start off my trip, I wanted a full spa treatment. I found this place online, but I did not do a full research, mistake on my part. I gave (Patty) my credit card via phone and they charged my credit card twice of 201; totaling 402.00. I called (Patty) the owner and she has the worst customer service ever. Patty was to reimburse one of the charges and she would gave me the run around. So I gave them a week to finalize and I tried calling to follow up and I could not get ahold of her. She was dodging my calls. I called my bank and they called and she picked up right away, which lets me know she was screening my calls. I wish I could give no stars. This place is a scam. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION over the phone to this place; as a matter of fact AVOID this place. SCAM SCAM SCAM… please read reviews below. There were a few other experiences like mine.

Love their massages! It’s one place I know I can go and feel like I am on a mini vacation. Everyone is so friendly and they make an extra effort to make your experience enjoyable. You always get your full hr massage compared to most places that only give 50−55mins so it’s definitely worth your time and money. We people ask for a good spa to go to I always refer them to BUA! I can be guaranteed to leave feeling rejuvenated!

Bought my gf a massage for this place over a year ago. Gave my credit card info over the phone to pay. Everything was fine until low and behold on Friday, one year later, they randomly decided to fraudulently charge my card without my authorization for almost 100 dollars
Good thing I checked my statements and caught it in time. My credit card will reimburse me but still what type of unethical practice is this?

I scheduled a couple’s massage over a week in advance. Day of, I get a call 2 hours before that they have to cancel. There aren’t enough people there to do massages for both of us and they are «very busy». I tried not to be upset and found another date my fiancé and I could both do it– 2 weeks later on a Monday. Both the lady on the phone and I repeated the day of the week, date, and time and put into the good olé calendar as we spoke. When Monday came around, we walked up to the front door to find it locked. Breathing slowly and deeply, we walked to the side entrance to find it locked as well! Maybe they are finishing up with a client and lock the doors in-​between? NOPE. I called the main number and the lady told me they are closed on Mondays to clean the whole spa!!! When I started to get upset about her first cancellation of our appt and now this, she interrupted saying she had to go b/​c she was talking to lawyers and hung up! WOW. Needless to say, she never called me back and I didn’t really care. NEVER NEVER will I try them again!

No Bua-​no. Horrible customer service. Left after 20 minutes BC woman (Sandy) was standing on me, driving my knee caps into the table. I was counting my blessings that the whole thing didn’t collapse. My request for her to dismount me got me nowhere, considering no-​English. Though, come to think of it when I asked for oil– Ya know, to alleviate the skin pulling, I got, «$ 10 more!» So, US currency she understood fine.
I was done. I expressed my bummer-​ness to the owner, Patty, at the front desk, after she was done applying her eye makeup. And she expressed her, I-don’t-give-a-sh*tness and then proceeded to stick her hand out for payment. My credit card really pissed her off– «No CASH?!» Uh… I was speechless. «$ 2 MORE !»
So…$ 32. For 20 minutes. Really, owner!!! She explained if i had gotten off the table at 15 minutes she wouldn’t have charged me. I guess that was supposed to prove her fantastic customer service. Need I go on… BC I’m never going back.

Terrible experience so far, second time I have attempted to use my groupon. First time they sent home the technician and had to find another place. Today on the exp date of the groupon arrived 30 min early for my appt door to the store was locked and when they finally opened the door the technician said she took the previous customer late and so she wants me to reschedule, reluctantly had me come 1 hr after my scheduled appt. Why didn’t the late customer have to reschedule or come back later? Unbelievable I haven’t even had my tx and already upset

Another victim of the Groupon scam. Bought it and I have attempted to redeem numerous times but told that there is no availability. As I found out they sold literally 100’s of Groupons YET HAVE ONLY ONE NAIL TECHNICIAN THAT WORKS THERE so it looks like I just flushed a handful of greenbacks into the sewer. Maybe I’ll find them surfing off of Hyperion.

This place is unethical. BEWARE! I purchased a groupon for my wife and the lady redeemed the groupon before they gave her any service. When she showed up for service the lady canceled on her but took the money and failed to notify her she already redeemed it… I have yet to receive a refund. This isn’t a way you runs business.

This place is a joke. Worst customer service ever. I attempted 3 times to use a groupon I received as a gift.
The first time I showed up and the lady said I must make an appointment… However, there were no customers ever there and 3 people were sitting around doing nothing. Made no sense to me.
The second time the lady called to cancel my appointment and forgot she had a «6:30»
The third attempt the lady said she had «appointments» and was unable to help me.
She told me to have groupon refund me… Why even have a groupon of you don’t want people using them? Suck a scam

Worse costumer service ever! Patty was not nice the moment I walked in that door. So I decided to just leave and maybe give my groupon to someone else but then I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience this so either I’m going to try to get it refunded or just let it go to waste! I’m not surprised why this place was so empty !

The nail salon is horrible! They are incredibly slow and they do not do a good job. They also do not honor appointment time. I made a 3 pm appointment for my daughter and I and they were running 30 min late and only had one person to do manicures and pedicures for both of us. After two hours we left and I did not even get a manicure due to lack of time. I will most definitely not be going back here. There are too many nail places in LA to put up with this terrible service.

Looks like I had a similar experience to other reviewers… I had a travelzoo voucher for a mani/​pedi/​facial and made an appt for a friday at 3p– when I came for my appt-​they didn’t have my name in the book and told me the nail person wasn’t there that day-​so I had to come back the following week. Ok. Went back for my new appt at 2p the following week and got started with a mani/​pedi at 2:20p (even though no other patrons were there). The lady who did my manicure was really nice-​but I don’t think she knew what she was doing. She didn’t file my nails straight, half of my fingers had rough edges (and the paint was put on uneven and in ‘globs.’ At this point it was 3:30p and she hadn’t even started my pedicure yet-​so I cut my losses and figured I could fix it when I got home. 30 minutes into my pedicure and she was still working on taking my toe nail polish off! My only conclusion is that she didn’t know what she was doing (which was frustrating and so opposite of relaxing). The manager came in at that point and said ‘by the way’ my facial couldn’t happen because the steam machine was broken and could I come back another time? I didn’t want to step foot in this place ever again-​so I accepted an hour massage instead. She dried off my feet and said ‘we’ll finish the pedicure after your massage.’ Whatever. The massage was ok-​the lady was way too rough-​kept asking her to ‘go lighter’-which she would then go back to digging in. When my massage was up-​I went back to the nail salon part of the shop and the manager says, «wait here-she’ll be back in 10 minutes.» By now I’ve been at this place for 3.5 hours and all I have to show for it is crappy nails, toenail polish removed and a crappy massage. I was done. I wasn’t up for another 2 hour nail experience with someone who didn’t know what they were doing. Such a waste of time! I told her don’t worry about it-​I need to go now. I just needed to get out of this place to a happier (more relaxing) space-​so I dragged my butt to Belagio Nails and had them redo the mani and DO the pedi in an hour. I will never go back here. EVER.

I came here to use a Groupon for their nail service. I had a new technician, and while she was good, she was slow. I was in the salon after they closed, so another technician finished my manicure so they could go home, and she was quick.

I got a Group On to get a mani/​pedi at this place. This was less than a week ago, and my nail polish has completely peeled off both my fingers and toe nails! They obviously use old polish. The two people who did my nails were nice and tried their best to make the experience pleasant. There was one other lady there who had gotten her nails done just before me and she was telling the owner that the person who did her pedicure had accidentally cut one of her toes. Overhearing this made me nervous before even sitting down!
I wanted to get my brows waxed and that took about a half an hour. When they were finally finished, it had been an hour and a half. I looked in my car mirror, and not only had the lady missed a few areas on my face, but there was wax in my hair and shreds of the cloth all over my face! I couldn’t drive away from that place fast enough! Yuck!

Went there for some TLC that boss had arranged for the girls in our office. There were 5 of us.
She gets a private room and the rest of us have to go two to a room! Very awkward and unexpected.
Not sure if this was a staffing issue or what but made me too tense to really enjoy the treatment.

I came here for a manicure & pedicure. I would’ve never known that this place offered nail services but found a good groupon deal, so decided to try it.
The facility was clean, front desk lady was nice and professional. I think they only book by appointments. I had an appointment at 2:30 but the lady didn’t get started until 3:00. My feet was in hot water for a LONG time. The receptionist offered bottled water or wine to guests.
Anyway, the 2 ladies working seemed very disgruntled. The lady apologized for taking so long. She said that the receptionist booked so many appointments and she was so backed up that she didn’t even have a chance to eat lunch. I really started to feel for the lady because I was starving too, and I was just sitting there. What more if I was the one working and having to deal with customers getting antsy and picky about their nails. I could tell she was rushing through my mani and pedi. I didn’t get my feet scrubbed but that shit tickles anyway.
3 stars for this place. Service was great, but if management can’t properly book appointments and give the workers enough time for them to take a break and eat, then of course the quality of work will be affected. I didn’t stiff them on the tip because it wasn’t really her fault she was being overworked.
Oh and btw, they had a very limited selection of nail polish colors. :(

This business has cancelled two appointments I had without notice — when I showed up at the agreed upon day/​time, I was sent home. Twice.
More details: first, I called to make an appointment for last Sunday (⁴⁄₂₇). When I arrived for my appointment, the spa didn’t appear to be open — after knocking on the door, the manager told me that their nail technician had a health issue and they had to cancel all appointments for the day. I asked why they never called me to cancel, and confirmed that they had my correct phone number. The manager apologized for the error and offered to throw in a free 30 min massage when I was able to have my appointment. Okay, I get it, these things happen, and it seemed like they were handling it well.
So, I agreed to reschedule the appointment for this Sunday (⁵⁄₄). Surprise surprise — when I showed up, I was informed that the appointment was cancelled again. This time there was no record of my appointment in the appointment book, and I was told that the nail technician didn’t even work on Sundays. There were completely different people working in the spa (or not working? Literally no one was there, again it seemed that they weren’t open) and they had no idea what I was talking about.
I will not be going back, as I cannot trust this business to make and maintain an appointment. Based on the other review on this page, it seems that many other people have had issues with the management at this spa — stay away!

Haven’t had many bad massages in my life but this place sucked. My girlfriend was uncomfortable and had to keep telling the girl to go lighter. My lady felt anxious or something and kept moving all over my body super fast. It was weird. It was unlike any other massage and was not comfortable at all. I regularly get massages about once a week and there is always a technique that the masseuses use that is similar wherever I go. This was uncomfortable and not fun. OH! And the music! Was like terrible elevator music. When we told the guy at the desk that we were not comfortable he argued with us and told us we were wrong. Um, ok, I was just relating my experience. But I guess my experience is wrong?
I hate giving bad reviews but I feel like if we aren’t honest here on Unilocal then you will never find the good stuff. Needless to say, I won’t be going back…
