Being going to the new Esthetician Emperial! She is wonderful with my brows and facials! One thing I like about how she does my brows is, she fills them in!
Was having some trouble with my skin and since she is a woman of color, she was able to address my pigmentation and now I’m on my way to healthy skin!

I got a gift certificate for a Swedish massage… They book up fast so making an appointment was the first challenge… I actually got in right away and it was amazing.
Great massage and it was a nice convenient location that was clean and cozy…

Excellent and professional service! Clean, the team there is very friendly, and all the services from facials, to manicure, to brows, to waxing, and massage no one is better. I enjoy my pampering here and can’t imagine going anywhere else. Oh, and I have been going here for over 15 years.

David Girard did a FABULOUS job on my hair! Full highlights and terrific cut. The color is gorgeous and my hair hasn’t looked this good in years! And he’s fast. If you are looking for a REALLY GOOD hairstylist and colorist, David is the guy! And his prices are awesome. I’ve paid close to $ 300 for cut and color elsewhere that wasn’t even half as good.
Jenny is the go-​to gal for manicures and pedicures. She is absolutely the BEST. And Tran is good if you can’t get in to see Jenny.
Irena or Marina for your skin care and waxing. Both are exceptionally good.

I’ve been going to Christine Valmy for over 15 years. I absolutely love Maria and everyone at the salon is super friendly and professional. I also just did semi-​permanent makeup on my eyebrows with a technique called mircroblading by Louisa. I love love love my eyebrows now. The microblading technique shows actual real eyebrows I can’t tell my real eyebrows from the strokes. I used to have over plucked super thin eyebrows and now i just wake up to ready to go eyebrows. Louisa is a perfectionist and made the process easy and painless. She also offers amazing pricing! Everyone should do this!

Since moving to LA in 2011, I have been constantly looking for a great esthetician to do my eyebrows. A friend referred me to Irena and as long as I live in LA, I will not be going to anyone else! Irena is professional, meticulous and delivers 5 star brows every time.
I’m very cautious with who touches my brows since I like them to be fuller, and I’ve definitely been victim to sloppy wax jobs in the past. Since going to Irena, my brows have filled out in spots that I’ve had issues growing back and I’ve received several compliments on them.
The salon itself is nice, with friendly employees and front desk workers. If you book your next appt. at the end of your appt. and keep it, you get 10% off your service. Convenient to schedule your next appt. on the spot anyway, and who doesn’t love a discount. :)

This place is great! It’s located in a great little shopping plaza with a bunch a great places! Parking is free in the lot.
I go here to get my eyebrows done with Irena and she is amazing!!! I also have had a facial with her and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!! The eyebrow waxing is a decent price around $ 20 and if you book and keep your next appointment for wax or facial, you get 10% off of the next visit. Irena is great, she is very detailed and just a very nice person. She lets me know where I need to grow out certain areas of my eyebrows, etc.
As far as the facial, what a relaxing and enjoyable experience!!! She is great. She takes her time and really does a thorough job and is very gentle. You will come out feeling amazing. As a new customer, they have a one-​time special for 20% off of a facial and a free brow wax — it’s a great way to try it out… and trust me, you will be hooked. She will recommend any products to help you with any issues. Again, make sure to book your next one while you are there so you can get your 10% discount.

I have been here two times for a facial, each time with Irena and she is wonderful. She makes it a very relaxing experience, and is very thorough. I suppose there are different techniques, the only reason for four out of five stars is the place I used to go also massaged arms, feet, and lower legs. She massages the neck and that’s all, but she is does a great job! At the end, she does offer any products you might want to purchase that are available in the salon. The staff is also very helpful in the front of the beauty salon. Be aware of the parking rules, they do mark and ticket cars that are parked too long, Christine Valmy does offer to validate if you will be in the salon in a separate part of the parking lot.

5 stars are for Jenny. This place is not fancy, not pretty, not luxurious but you will not find a better manicurist in Los Angeles than Jenny. Her manicures are impeciable and only $ 13. I would take away one star because this place does arcyrlic nails and the smell is hidious its like you can feel the cancer in your body developing. However, Jenny is that good and I try and go at off times when not busy and the smell is not that bad, This salon would benefit from going organic and healthy. There is a need for an organic salon in the neighborhood. I would say not good for kids because they should not be inhaling the toxic fumes of arcylic nails.

I absolutely love these guys always get my facials waxing and whatever I need done here they are little busy sometimes but that’s a good thing sometimes its worth waiting a few days and if you go you better ask for Lena and get the wonderful motherly feel with your facial I highly recommend

I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now, and I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else for a facial. Lena is simply the best. Let me repeat, Lena is the BEST. Hands down. (Note: I’ve never had her do my brows, but I hear she’s «the best» at that, too.) I never feel rushed, and she never tires to upsell me on products. That’s huge in my book. I’m already paying enough for the service, why should I pay even more for products? One reviewer said the rooms were small. This is true, but you’re on your back with your eyes closed, so who cares? Parking has never been an issue for me (and it’s free, people… FREE parking!) The only con might be price, but frankly, for LA, the prices don’t strike me as all that high. And remember, you get what you pay for. Bonus: If you book your next appointment in advance you get 10% off!

I had been going to Christine Valmy for several years until I moved and continue to whenever I come to visit. I only have the most positive things to say. I book my mani/​pedi around getting my hair cut and colored so I use whoever can accomodate my schedule to fit in with my hair appt. I have seen several of the girls and have always been more than satisfied. I think their work is very good. I also see Lena and have always been happy with her waxing whether it’s my brows or bikini.
I then see David for my haircut and color. He use to work at another salon so when he went to Chrstine Valmy I went with him. (He is the only hair person there and has his own room). He does THE best color I have ever had. He was recommended to me by a friend who drives up from San Diego to have her hair cut and colored by him. When she moved to San Diego and tried another stylist, she really screwed up her hair and particularly her color. She said she was quoted $ 200+ to correct the color but there was no guarantee it would not cost more or that she may have to come back another time to get it right. She decided to make the drive to see David again and he got her hair color back to what she had. She said driving back and forth was worth it just to have piece of mind and to know she will be happy with her haircut and color until she’s due for her next appointment. (I have known her a long time and she really is not a neurotic person). While my color issues have not been as extreme, David somehow tweaks my color to perfection and make it fabulous, natural looking and shiny instead of being either too reddish or too ash. He is a master haircolorist and really knows what he’s doing. He also uses Goldwell haircolor which I know is much more expensive than what most salons use. I only wish I could see him more frequently except I’m too far away to do that now, but I go in for my «tuneups». Another thing I love about him is he is very confident and fast and he doesn’t stop working on me when he talks to you. It drives me crazy when a stylist stops coloring or cutting my hair when they talk. (Grrrr. I want to tell them to just shut up and do my hair. I really don’t want to hear about your boyfriend problems because I’m here to get my hair done, not be your therapist.) He’s the best hairstylist I’ve ever been to. My hair cuts are always perfect too. Not too short or left too long where I feel like I need another haircut in 2 weeks. I don’t get regular facials but again I have always been happy at Christine Valmay. They are all very professional in my opinion and alot of other people must think so because they always seem to be pretty busy.

Five solid starsies!
After looking at myself in the mirror this morning and realizing first of all, I have a date tonight and secondly, that my eyebrow (s) freakishly resemble Bert’s, I panicked. I immediately opened Unilocal on my phone and found searched for eyebrow waxing establishments. I am picky. I am picky because I need to be. I’ve got the Jewish in me. Sure, that’s afforded me the pleasures of Jdate and sodium laden lox but that’s where the buck stops. Several of the «better» places nearby were not able to take me on such short notice so by the time I got on the phone with the ladaaayyz at Christine Valmy I was feeling DESPERATE. «would I look better if I threw a Birkin bag or a Bottega bag over my head tonight on this date?» I pondered to myself as I hurriedly shoved pinkberry in my mouth and thumbed through Unilocal.
From the moment I picked up the phone, I received A+ service. After a panicky call, the nice lady on the other line (thanks baby girl!) assured me that I could come in immediately for a walk-​in. I bolted from nearby home to the AWFUL parking lot that the shop is situated in (sad face) and was to a room within… 1 minute of arriving? So, I regret to inform you I have absolutely no knowledge of the magazine selection on hand. I know this is important and I am sorry I have failed you.
Nava, the genius who I owe my life to, came to greet me and welcomed me back to her lair where she immediately began to get to work on me. We briefly discussed how I liked my brows before and she diligently worked with me to get my brows in tip top condition. Nava was quick, careful and best of all, she showered me with compliments about my appearance and let my show her pictures of my mom and my cat from my phone. She was great with wax and also very skilled with tweezers. I only mention this because, um THESE ARE IMPORTANT THINGS. I walked out of Nava’s wax den feeling like a million bucks and swatting away swarms of imaginary men that I was now under the impression would be chasing after me at every corner.
The prices were decent. I don’t remember exactly how much I spent but including tip I walked out less than thirty (maybe thirty five. oy) bucks out. Despite the price, the money I dropped was well-​spent and I will be returning again regardless of the millions of men who will now be chasing after me because of my perfect eye brows.

I called at 9:00 when they opened. The phone was answered nicely. I needed the quickest appointment for my eyebrows. I was in the chair 30 minutes later!

I’ve been meaning to post this update for a long time.
To the salons credit:
After reading my review on Unilocal the Manager contacted me, apologized profusely and offered to have me come back to see Tran free of charge.
BUT, now this is a HUGE BUT:
I told my Mother about the experience. She used to be a regular here and is the one who took me here for the first time. The last time she went in she contracted a FOOT FUNGUS!
So, I told the Manager, I’m sorry I won’t be returning as I’ve learned my Mother has a foot fungus for the first time in her life after her last appointment in your salon.
Again, to their credit they promptly sent me a check for a FULL refund including tip.
I will say the Manager’s handling of this situation was quite professional and courteous, but I still won’t be returning.

I like this place! I can only comment in regards to eyebrow waxing as that’s the only service I’ve tried and love. Nava is great! She takes her time and has been able to fix my brows to the point that the boyfriend has noticed and is impressed.
One star off because it is pricy!

Great haircut!
David cut my hair today and I love what he did… and how it smells.:-) He and I first discussed options and what I wanted and didn’t want and after that he made a few suggestions. I am so happy I listened to him because my hair looks exactly how I like it. Thank you David!

Pro: Excellent Staff, Above Average Facial, Groupon Deals, plenty of parking
Con: Equipment is old, Facial rooms are small
The equipment needs to be replaced, and their facial rooms need to be remodeled but the service and staff was amazingly helpful and kind.
I bought a groupon for a facial ($ 50 for 88) called them and was able to book an appt for the same day. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and helped me pick the best facial: the biogenic facial.
Now: When it comes to facials don’t underestimate me because I am a guy. With a mother who taught me the importance of spf 15 and a sister who was really into skincare I had a great source for interest in up keeping my skin care. I have been searching far and wide for the best spa for the best price. As far as my neighborhood goes this place is the best option.
i walked in and the front of the place looked great, clean and big. There is a huge area where women were getting their nails done, apparently that is the speciality of this place.
The back where I got my facial was another story:
The spa room was extremely small, I felt bad for my esthetician because i felt claustrophobic from the hour I spent there. The machines all looked worn out and the ceiling tile light was missing the cover. They need to buy new equipment you can’t have a yellowing steamer and charge me 78 bucks for a facial, I want to feel comfortable and clean «spa-​like» please.
As far as the person who helped me, Liliana, she represents what a Spa experience should be like. She asked me about my skin care routine, recommended services but was not pushy at all. She was extremely calming and professional, made me see that my money was going towards a trained person who knew about skin.
My facial was actually pretty great, I had a mask to start out, cleaning, and the dreaded extractions. To all the ladies that do this on a regular basis, my respect go out to you for the pain you have to go through in order to look beautiful. FML the extractions where painful, she would ask me every minute or so if i was ok and to let her know-​I was not about to complain to a sweet lady, I «manned it out». Later at home I saw why it had been so painful, she pretty much cleaned my nose and made it shiny and new, she also took out those nasty white pimples that nothing else on this earth can get out. Overall the facial and her service was more than worthwhile.
Would come back to get another facial, but would hope for new equipment in the back and perhaps a better layout to give them the remaining stars.
