I booked last week for a facial and craniosacral treatment. Craniosacral treatment was not done, this review is strictly for the facial/​facialist and the experience.
Facial: 5 stars
And really, it’s the facialst’s technique and massage that were 5 star. I don’t recall her name but she was very sweet, quiet, did a great job. The products used and were not impressive especially if you’re used to really high end products/​spas.
As I mentioned, the craniosacral treatment therapy was not done despite having been there 2 hours. I won’t go into details as I feel uneasy with being negative however I will say this: the other posts about feeling deceived, not enough therapists, owner interactions, location –were all true.

Not the luxurious, relaxing spa-​type environment. No sense of cohesiveness, very scattered and didn’t feel valued as a customer.
I came using a gift certificate my husband had purchased for me for my birthday (who feels terrible because the website make this place seem like a dream) and still have enough left to cover another treatment but I will not be returning. Sometimes just better to just leave the experience as a lesson learned. Sucks because I really was looking forward to this.

Everything that Molly said below is so right! She couldn’t of said it better. If you wanted some fancy superficial hotel spa experience go get it. This experience is for people who know and enjoy Venice Beach. Meaning it’s calming and creative. She built this herself! Sandie was super nice and friendly and she doesn’t demand for money like some people think. She kindly suggests 20% just like any other service would do. Everyone needs to chill out. It’s not dirty and run down. Shame on all those people! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. We paid for 90 minutes and got a 3 hour full spa experience. Not bad a deal.

Overall the massage was good and the sauna. When it came down to paying she was very rude and demanded that we give her 20% tip because of the discount we got on Unilocal.She really pissed me off I just gave her the money back that she supposedly gave us discount for. We will not be going back. Also not very professional.

I’ve never left a bad review on Unilocal because I’ve never had such a bad experience like the one my girlfriends and I had this past weekend at this so called Spa. I usually like to share only my good experiences, but in this case, I feel it’s best to alert the owner and her future customers. Maybe the feedback will help her and the business.
The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and of very low quality, from the service to the infrastructure. The group was unsatisfied and disappointed.
The owner has been in business for long (based on the info we read). However, we didn’t feel at all welcomed and unfortunately she kept going on circles when we inquired about the services we were offered over the phone and via email previous to our visit. It was even «blamed» on us (even though we were told we could choose treatments upon arrival).
The website and reviews misled us, otherwise we wouldn’t have picked this place for our Bachelorette party — the group spent almost 2 grand and sadly we were let down. We are currently disputing the charges.
It’s unfortunate, but has to be shared so the owner upgrades the place, reviews the prices and learns about customer service.
The place is run down, dirty, noisy, the towels are old & falling apart –just like the shower and other amenities. There are not enough therapists for a group, and they are not trained for the treatments that are offered/​advertised — it’s all very confusing and uncomfortable (and it’s not really the therapists’ responsibility). We were cramped-​up in a room and the music was blasted to compete w the noise. Also, our therapists were interrupted with questions during the treatments. I heard the same feedback from other women in the group.
The whole communication was unclear; the services and experience are definitely not worth your money’s value. It’s for sure overpriced, but the real issue is the quality and that we were deceived. The place is not up to code and it’s not on the beach — there’s no view either.
At the moment, we had to laugh it off and took some pictures for memories.
The owner could see the disappointment on our faces so she offered each of us a 10% discount if we ever come back, but no one will return, sorry.

My honey and I kept saying we felt as though we had left LA and were on vacation! I spent my birthday here at CCS and it was the best choice I have ever made. It was so private, we literally didn’t see anyone else there during our stay. Both of our therapist were professional and talented (I would know I’m an MT myself). And the owner and staff not only helped us, but guided us step by step from parking to leaving. This was the escape I needed for my bday!

I had a really excellent massage. location is perfect, chill atmosphere. arrive early for parking. prices are wonderful!

5 stars for my massage therapist, Meomi (sp!?) I was suffering with low back pain and she gave me an excellent massage. I booked the 7:30pm appointment aft 5 this evening, so was really thrilled that it was a good experience. I can see what some other reviewers are saying on a few points, it’s not a fancy spa, more of a Venice beach style place, but all the necessities for a great experience… nice heated massage table with very soft comfortable bedding, great smelling massage oil and great massage therapist. I only got to see the one room that I was in and the bathroom, so can’t comment on anything else.

Please read my review if you have seen the bad reviews and are wondering if you should go to this place. It’s long, but at least skim through.
My boyfriend surprised me and took me here for our anniversary. I think he paid somewhere around $ 300 dollars. Please note this is what it included:
Couples hour long massage
Sauna
Private Jacuzzi
Vitamin C shower
Dinner and dessert by the fire
Additionally, she threw in a free bottle of wine for us.
After reading all of these reviews, I went online to LAs top 10 Spas. «ONE the Spa» is 180 $ for a ONE HOUR MASSAGE. Do the math, couples massage is $ 360 and you are not getting any of the other amenities.
Okay so first refute to all the complainers out there, you get what you pay for. I 100% can say that my experience at Chakra Spa was well worth the money spent. But for all the materialistic superficial people out there, if you wanted a high end spa, then you will need to pay more than $ 300 dollars. This spa was created by ONE person, and it is a small business. She decorated everything herself, it’s not a corporate facility, or at a hotel of some sort.
Secondly, I went through all of the pictures that were posted on this website since so many people were complaining about how they «weren’t real.» They actually all are correct. The spa is mixed in with an apartment complex, very private and secluded. It is not even one block from the beach. My boyfriend and I walked down to the beach after our experience to enjoy the rest of the night. There are a lot of different rooms, as expected when looking at the building structure. It allows for more privacy and seclusion. Never did I once feel uncomfortable. She did a good job securing our privacy.
NOTHING was dirty, and trust me when I say, I am very picky about that. Sometime you have to take these Unilocal reviews with a grain of salt. Someone is always going to have something nasty to say. If there ever is a question about if the massage is really on the beach or not, you should use your head and look it up on the map. Then call if there are any discrepancies and ask before you book your appointment. If you are expecting some immaculate experience then go somewhere else. If you are looking for a romantic relaxing time, I would definitely recommend going to Chakra.
We had a lovely night. I was greeted in the parking lot and shown where to park. We were put in a «calming mood» room to change. We had robes, shoes, and place to put our things. It really got us into the mindset of relaxation. Everyone was calm and quiet when speaking to us, there was music playing and candles lite. Keep in mind again, all of this was designed by the owner herself. Was it the most fanciest thing you will ever be apart of? No, but it was relaxing and romantic enough.
We then had wonderful one hour massages, our therapists accommodated to exactly how we wanted our massages. The massages were done in a cabana outside on the patio by a fire side. It was slightly chilly outside, so I am glad the cabana was not set up at the beach, and we had heated blankets that were were laying on.
Afterwards we took Vitamin C showers to rinse off the oils from the massage. That was awesome because no one likes to be oily. We sat in the sauna for a while. Then they guided us to the jacuzzi and left us alone to relax. Yes it was a smaller jacuzzi, but we both relaxed in it without any discomfort. Afterwards we cuddled by the fire and was served dinner, dessert, and the owner gave us a free bottle of wine.
Lastly to note, we were late to our appointment. They closed at 9:00pm. We stayed there until 10:30pm. They never rushed us out or made us feel a burden.
It was definitely more of a homey type place. No your 5 star Spa, but you get what you pay for and we had a wonderful experience.

We left feeling very deceived. Do not believe the Unilocal pictures. It gives the illusion this is a professional spa place, but in reality it’s someone’s converted apartment!!!
I brought my boyfriend in for the couples massage. Online, it said we were going to have the beach cabana space and have a nice massage on the beach. Sounded fantastic. Instead, we got a massage in a crowded cabana on their backyard patio!!!
When we arrived, here’s what happened:
1) We got there on time. No one was at the reception. After waiting 10 min, two ladies showed up. On top of that, this was a converted apartment turned into a business! It’s like going into someone’s condo.
2) one lady told the other one to put some chocolate chips in the chocolate fondue fountain. She put them in and then I SAW her EAT some with her hands and then lick her fingers! WTF. How do you serve that to customers?
3) we were led into another room to get dressed. Really awkward place to get dressed… They had us change in an open area, and it seemed like people were walking in and out. Wow very uncomfortable.
4) we were then taken outside to our «beach Cabana». It was a small tent/​Home Depot cabana set up in the corner of her apartment patio!!! Totally not the beach experience that was advertised! She told me that it was because it was cold, which is why we were setup in her patio? Makes no sense to me.
5) the massage itself was okay, not bad. The whole time we heard cars driving by… NOT the waves or the ocean. I guess you can pretend those are the sound of waves. So much for a «beach cabana» massage.
6) after the massage, we felt very greasy. Not sure what they rubbed all over our bodies. We were then brought to the sauna. I was in there for a couple minutes then left to use the bathroom. Upon my return, they came to me and said it was over. Um… Ok thanks for the few minutes in there.
7) the owner took us to the same large room where we were supposed to be changing. There were two ladies in there, which the owner then told them to get out. We were about it to change and right when I was undressing the owner walked in and asked how we were doing. Are u kidding me??? How can I feel comfortable when I’m told to change and then the owner comes in 2 minutes later.
8) we were given champagne and two strawberries with chocolate at the end. There was hair on my plate.
Overall, it was not a good experience. I feel very lied to. I asked on the phone before I booked it and was told it was beach massage. LIES. If u want a massage NEAR the water and on a patio, then this is the place for you.
Also, so overpriced!!! And so below expectations. It was such an awkward place. I was so embarrassed taking my boyfriend here. At this price, I expected a professional spa, not a lady’s apartment turned into a spa.

Bummed that I spent over $ 300 on couples massages at what I thought was a luxury place. The woman I spoke with on the phone was so lovely, but unfortunately this place was awkward, and was not what I expected for the price. I surprised my boyfriend with a couples massage, with a session in their sauna. When we arrived, the space looks like someone converted their backyard into a make shift massage parlour, with awkward curtains, bamboo decorations, and a small sauna– which you have to walk through a dark and dirty outdoor hallway to get to. When I signed up for the couples $ 270 massage, I was told we could customize it– and requested that the massuse do a very deep tissue but even though I told her over 5 times I needed it to be stronger, it felt like she was simply rubbing oil on my back, not doing massage. My boyfriend’s massage therapist did a good job though! At the end of the appointment, the two massage therapists stood next to us and asked us to fill out surveys, which was very awkward. Also, they talked about the price of the service outloud in front of my boyfriend, which I thought was unprofessional and additionally awkward. If this service had been half the price, I’d be okay with it, but at the end of the day I’m disappointed that the cost was so high for something not very amazing.

When i entered to the spa, the expectation of pricing was an affordable price. Very dirty, not organized, dirty towels, Jacuzzi looks like a improvised bath tub in the back of the building behind the massage tent, covered with some sun umbrellas and cheap bamboo fans, surrounded by tall buildings where everyone could see us .
The pictures in the website are are not the real ones from the place, they are misleading and for me. this is fraud.
The owner kept on pushing us to hurry up and not take too long, in the end when we were supposed to have the «organic meal» that was included in the package, nothing came, so we asked for it, the owner replied that once she was giving us a discount price she was not going to serve the food but she demanded to pay $ 25 dollars tip for each massage therapist just to get back the $ 50 DOLLARS OFF from the supposedly discount she made over the price !!!
Unbelievable treatment, the massage was ok but the place is an awful spa and a horrific owner… the demanded on a certain price on tipping was very very rude, the service, the bad organization, the cheap and low class materials used for decorations, the spa supplies like very old and dirty towel and everything else on that spa is not even close to the price they charged us which was $ 350 dollars for the couple plus everything she did to us … Our 4 year anniversary was a disaster thanks to Creative chakras spa!!!

It was a little disorganized when I checked in — but I don’t think that is the norm. I asked for a deep tissue massage and boy was it deep! Erin was my therapist — she is incredibly strong — as it went on I cd to appreciate how much she knows her stuff.
I’d highly reco this neighborhood gem, best part for me is its two blocks away!

After writing the previous review, which I felt was accurate and my honest experience, I received several phone calls from the owner where she left agitated messages on my voice mail concerned that my review would make her business look bad.
I would have liked to call her back, though I could tell by her demeanor and reading the reviews here that it would be confrontational and mostly defensive on her part. If she were open to feedback there could be a productive conversation and information exchange around how her business could be strengthened and her customers experience elevated.
If you like converted condo’s with nailed curtains and sheets on the wall with one open bedroom with two massage tables on it, disorganized masseuses, fuzzy fabric on the toilet seat cover and at the base, dusty old glass display cases, towels on the floor and a balcony view of the neighbors with a hot tub on it with no beach view in sight– this place is for you.
I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism and cannot recommend this establishment.

I was at Venice beach for my bachelorette party. We planned fun in the sun but the weather had a different idea. We were able to get (four) same day massage appointments.
This place is real and relaxing. We were greeted with a friendly hello and set up with tea on the front patio that had an ocean view. That is the only one I saw.
Most importantly this was the best massage I have ever had. The staff was warm and inviting and very attentive. When I go back to visit Venice, I will be back. All of the facilities are clean and the patio area was a nice touch. The sauna and spa really enhance the massage and overall health benefits.
This spa is like Venice beach to me. If you are cool and flexible you will love this. If not you may want to try another place that is more rigid.

I am only giving this place a 2 stars because the staff is very polite & they were probably scammed by the owner to work for her. But I am definitely giving the owner a ZERO and I have valid reasons. Where should I begin…
First of all, the names to the spa packages are a false advertisement. There’s NO fireside, NO beach view. Second of all, what’s MORE deceiving are the photos on Unilocal and their website!
I should of listened to other Unilocal reviewers that gave this place a 1 star. (Please read what others wrote). But I just had to experience this for myself! She responded to other Unilocal reviews by saying things like «over 20,000 satisfied clients return and love this unique place… etc. People from America’s Next Top Model, Rock of Love and other TV shows come here… etc. Our spa is the closest landmark to the beach… etc.»
Yes Sandie, even though your spa is the closest landmark to the beach. Please don’t advertise your packages have beach views. Because there was no beach view in sight. Also, your jacuzzi delight was no where near that! It literally was the size of my bath tub and it probably cost you about $ 400 to buy. I do have to say your infrared sauna was decent. Your spa is definitely not a retreat-​like spa. If you would like an example of a zen, clean, organized spa, I can provide you with some real examples of spas I’ve been to.
Anyway, the biggest reason why I am most upset is your customer service. I booked your spa package as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend TWO months ago. From that time to the day of my appointment I received no phone call from you to confirm my appointment. So I called you THE DAY of the appointment just in case. Boy am I glad I did! And why you may all ask?
Turned out the package that I wanted which included the mud bath was out of service. You also asked me to come two hours later than my scheduled appointment time. If you had great enough customer service or if you cared enough for your customers you would of called to tell me those things. I also tried to cancel the appointment but you convinced me to keep it because the jacuzzi had all sorts of «amazing minerals» and there would be additional add-​ons for me. On the phone you said this new package you created would be $ 275. BUT when the staff tried to ring me up, he tried to charge me $ 315! Thank goodness I said something about this and he was nice enough to correct the price for me.
You are taking advantage of all your new clients. In time, your Unilocal ratings and your past customers’ word of mouth will reveal.
Moral of this experience for other Unilocalers: if you want a semi-​inexpensive decent massage for yourself. Sure come here. If you are trying to plan a nice birthday gift, celebration of any kind, or even propose to your significant other, please do not come here. It’s smelly, not very clean, the owner is very unorganized and it is not a romantic venue by any means.
I practice yoga on a constant basis and I know it’s ruining my zen writing this review the way I did. But it’s the honest truth and it’s the only way to get you new Unilocalers who haven’t gone here to NOT go. Believe me, not worth it!

Service was excellent greeted by Sandi the owner. Had a grouping and she was right on point with the promo. This was my first time at a spa will definitely return.

I have used this spa several times over the last year.
The interior is comfortable and relaxing. The owner is knowledgeable and offers many services.
I take advantage of the infrared sauna. It is an energizing detox.
The spa offers classes and workshops as well as treatments.
It’s so good even celebrities are known to use it!
If you want to treat yourself this is the place.
The owner is kind and will be open to your wishes.

I had great experience with Creative Chakra spa. I don’t go out there very often, but it’s a nice way to relax at the beach after the spa experience. A nice relaxing massage and tea is the best. Me personally I love private Yoga lessons. What can be better: Yoga and the Ocean!!!
Overall I’m very satisfied with my experience at the spa. They have a very nice sauna, which is very beneficial for women’s health.
I had several massages there and facials as well. Alla was my favourite.

I just had a fabulous chakra massage with hot stones. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The location on the Marina peninsula is like a hidden oasis. The décor along with private outdoor patio sets the tone for rest and relaxation. The staff are great and I loved the chakra oils which are for sale. I had the owner make special blends for me which will be Christmas gifts I know my friends will love.
I guess there is a reason why this secluded SOA has been in business for over 12 years. This gem is one you need to experience.

After writing the previous review, which I felt was largely positive, very detailed and accurate to my honest experience, I received a phone call from the owner the day before Thanksgiving where she told me my review made her company look bad and she felt I did her an injustice by not speaking to her directly about things that would have made her warrant less than a perfect score.
When I explained that negatives in my review were far outweighed by positive compliments, like «best massages in LA» and that the things I found to be unfavorable to me were either out of her control, like the barricades blocking the beach front view, or inconsistencies from the groupon description, which she admitted to being aware of and being unresolved, or where taste based, like her earthy boheme décor (I prefer super modern.), she continued to defend her place even stating that groupon customers have been an issue and she plans to not do it again as she does not desire those clients. She continued on for about 25 minutes in a circle until I abruptly ended the call recommending she reread the review with a clear mind.
I was startled by the lack of professionalism in her response. I left feeling berated and harassed for leaving an accurate review that would lead people who would enjoy her business to her business and would direct others away. It appears that she was only interested in receiving a 5 star review. While I still must attest to her mom and pop approach as being very friendly (while in the spa) and the massages being top notch, I would not longer visit this establishment again as I had planned to and cannot recommend this facility.
