Matt Sergott Fitness

I’m just updating this review as a hindsight matter, in part because I really think Matt is probably one of the best trainers on the Westside. I haven’t yet met another trainer who works as closely with his clients, corrects and improves their technique, creates really useful workarounds for injuries, and develops good overall eating/​fitness plans to help them meet their goals. Plus, he is really pleasant, upbeat, and caring. He’s also good at pushing you just enough to get you to go the extra mile without letting you get discouraged or frustrated.

I love training with Matt! I’ve been seeing Matt for 3 – 4 months and have seen amazing results with my body. This is the first time I’ve seen a trainer and was unsure if the value was there. Now that I’ve done this I understand what a big difference it makes. Matt is really good about coming prepared with workouts that target your body type and you’re focus areas. I always leave sore (which is a good thing!) and have seen my muscles really tone up.

I started training with Matt after I saw how in shape my sister and mom got through training with him. After my first session with Matt, I was totally hooked! Through his encouragement, Matt really makes you feel like anything is possible. Though I have only been training with him for about two months, I have already come such a long way from my first workout. I can totally notice a difference in my energy level and have never been more determined to take care of myself. I highly recommend Matt to anyone looking to get in shape, and to have fun doing it!

A year ago, I was in desperate need of change. I had been so focused on my career that I neglected me. I let myself go and was in an unhealthy place personally; physically, mentally, and emotionally. I was living at Fountain Park in Playa Vista at the time and had always kept up my fitness club membership. I knew I needed a trainer to «kick start» my change. I went to several club locations to observe and find the perfect trainer for me. This is what I discovered:
* Most trainers were out of shape. They did not embody the fitness lifestyle
* Those who did look the part were so self-​centered and disinterested in their clients. The majority of the time they would scan the room to gawk at people or see who is looking at them.
* There was little to no privacy
Luckily, I came across a posting at my apartment complex and found Matt. Matt talks the talk and walks the walk. He has been supportive and attentive from the beginning: consultation and all training sessions. The training facility is clean and just the right size for the little privacy I needed. Matt is engaged and vested in my physical transformation and lifestyle change. He makes every session fun and enjoyable.
I have felt and seen a world of difference since training with Matt. I have since moved to the North Hollywood area and still train with Matt to this day. I highly recommend Matt to anyone who is looking for a great personal trainer.

I started training with Matt the summer after my first year of college. I was ten pounds heavier than my target weight. I was a little hesitant at first to start training with a personal trainer because I was not sure I was up to the commitment. My first training session with Matt completely changed my mind. He motivated me to get in shape and I continued to train with him for the whole summer until I went back to school. I ended up losing almost 13 pounds with him in the span of two months!
Matt is an amazing trainer, he really knows what he is talking about. The first time we met, he helped me figure out what types of food my body type did not handle well. I eliminated those foods out of my diet, but it did not feel like a sacrifice. Matt is realistic with the advice he gives. He helped me develop healthy habits, taking into account my crazy academic schedule.
After a week of training with Matt, I noticed my stamina and energy had already improved greatly. Matt is completely dedicated to me during our sessions, not letting any distractions get in the way. He makes sure every area is worked, alternating between cardio exercises and strength training (weight, push ups, etc.). The areas I wanted to target specifically were my stomach and my upper thighs. I told Matt this during our first session and he made sure to include several exercises that targeted these areas.
By the end of the summer, my self esteem had improved greatly and I was in the best shape of my life. This was all due to Matt. He has an amazing attitude during out work outs and is really easy to connect with. But, he is also firm enough to the extent that he never lets me give up and continuously pushes me harder each time I see him. It’s the best of both worlds.
I give Matt my upmost recommendation!!! I could not be happier with the results. In fact, I am training again with him this summer. He is an amazing trainer and I urge anyone looking to get in shape to contact Matt right away!!!

I came to Matt in a really difficult transition period in my life. I had really poor self esteem, I was emotionally eating, and transitioning out of a long term relationship. At midnight on a night I couldn’t sleep I UnilocalED! «Personal Trainers» nearby and Matt Sergott Fitness popped up. I went on his website and a testimonial from a past client about how Matt tailored her workouts to suit her body really struck me as genius. So I emailed Matt at 12:45AM. That day Matt emailed me back with info, rates, and his schedule.
From the very first meeting I felt that Matt had a true dedication and knowledge to what he was doing. He explained and taught me about the 3 different body types and their natural tendencies. After establishing which body type I fit into — he explained what workout/​training my body would ideally respond to the best. I told him I get bored and lose focus and never in the 3 months that I have been working out with him have I ever done the same exercise twice in the same session. He has a great balance in his personality — he’s friendly but means business as well.
I started with Matt in July at 142lbs and now I’m 127lbs and training for a triathlon. I have more energy — I bought a whole new wardrobe, people are noticing, I have a lightness in energy and am excited to see Matt to work out every week. I’ve tried other trainers in the past and I am certain its because of his well balanced personality, knowledge, and dedication that I am able to be successful in my fitness goals!
Don’t wait — this guy is the real deal and works wonders!!!

Every now and then in life you encounter an individual who makes a profound and positive impact on your life. Matt Sergott has been an inspirational motivator and trustworthy example for me these last three months. In the past I have never been too successful in achieving alone my desired health and fitness results. After much searching, I came across Matt’s website. I could tell after our first telephone conversation that Matt was dedicated and sincere. Under his guidance I have learned to eat properly, reduce body fat, build muscle, exercise safely, and increase self-​confidence. Reaching my fitness goals has always seemed just as important to him as to me. His understanding of differing body types allows him to design personalized fitness plans that achieve the results you want. In order to have the privilege of working out with Matt, I drive over seventy miles. His program is that important to me! I especially appreciate that Matt holds me accountable to what he has taught me. Each week I look forward to being challenged physically and encouraged mentally. With absolute assurance, I can say that Matt Sergott is the personification of the ideal health and fitness mentor.

I would recommend Matt to anyone looking for a trainer for weight loss. I have lost over 70 lbs with his help. He designed workouts to fit this specific goal and provided nutritional guidance and tips while keeping me accountable with weigh-​ins. The workouts included a wide variety of exercises from cardio and weights to boxing and bosu ball stuff, keeping things interesting and constantly evolving. Not only am I happy with the changes in my body but I am now able to do exercises I never thought I’d be able to do. Matt pushes me out of my comfort zone in a way I was never able to when I worked out by myself. And for anyone who’s been intimidated about going to a trainer, Matt’s the guy for you. From day 1, I felt at ease with his positive style, friendly nature, and enthusiasm.

I’ve only been going to Matt for a week, but I can already tell he’s going to be the best trainer ever. I’ve already lost 5lbs. thanks to the workout he designed for and the nutrition advice he’s given me. He’s a really excellent motivator, and pushes me just far enough so that I feel that I can do the exercises, but not so far that I think I’m going to pass out. Plus, he’s so much fun to work with! I would definitely highly recommend him to anyone who’s thinking about starting to work out, whether they’re in shape already or not.
