Ricki and The Flash Dinner Cruise w/ Rick Springfield

I had the great privilege to attend the «Ricki and the Flash» Hornblower Dinner Cruise featuring music by the movie’s star (besides Meryl Streep, of course), Rick Springfield! The event was held on the Hornblower’s ship, Entertainer. Rick Springfield’s concert played to our delight on the top level. I’ve read Rick’s books, which he has a new one, Magnificent Vibration: A Novel, recently come out. However, other than Jessie’s Girl, I wasn’t familiar with his other songs. This would be a perfect opportunity for me to admire his work as a musician.
An elaborate spread of hors d’oeuvres were laid out for our picking on the second level–
Salmon Wellington
Flaky deliciousness with tender salmon inside
Vegetarian pizza
Spicy chicken spring rolls
These were the least appealing. The wrappers weren’t crunchy, which is the absolute best part.
Bacon wrapped dates
Sweet & savory, these were the piece de resistance. I could’ve snacked on these all night. Good thing these provided the sweetness, as no dessert was provided. C’est la vie

An absolute great time, feasting on appetizers, enjoying the cool Marina Del Rey breeze and rocking out to Rick Springfield. What more could you ask for? A fun, entertaining way to spend the afternoon/​evening, I’m currently youtubing all his old music, as I’m now even more a fan. Thanks to Rick & all who were involved in making this event happen.
