This place has everything. Great selection of beer and liquor especially but if you give them an inch they’ll take a mile. It seems like they try to hustle you and say anything for you to buy the most expensive things. There have been a couple times where I just want to say, shut the fuck up, because it’s annoying. I know my beer and I know what I like I don’t need you hyping me up on a $ 14 four pack of beer just because I like IPA.

This place is off the chain if you’re looking for some great brew. The man who is usually there in the afternoons when I’ve stopped by is SO knowledgable. He knows his stuff! I trust his opinion on beer, it usually works out very well for me. This place may not look like much on the outside, but it’s so convenient it’s almost too easy. Who cares if a beer is 50 cents less somewhere else? I’d rather give that to support a local business than some huge petrol company’s pocket when I have to drive myself all the way to Bevmo or Whole Foods. Get your thirsty ass in here and see what all the fuss is about. You won’t be disappointed.(Unless you’re a sissy.)

You see this place from the street, and you think«how good can it be?» It looks small. Well, the inside is close to 75% shelves of craft beer, packed to the edges. Only two of the many coolers are devoted to everything else, and the liquor and cigarettes are up behind the counter. It’s just so much good beer. Not just California and western breweries, but also quite a few Belgians and other international breweries. I saw an Icelandic porter in there yesterday. I feel lucky to have this place close by to me, because it just blows almost anything else in Monterey County out of the water.

Epic selection of craft beers. I was pretty blown away. Although, they don’t stock Russian River Pliny the Elder, nor did they have the 120 min IPA from Dog Fish Head, I was still impressed. So, why did I rate this place a 4 star? First, although they have an epic selection of craft brews, so does BevMo in Carmel. And, although there were lots of overlap, I did see several beers that either stocked that the other one didn’t. Secondly, the prices. Prices are pretty fair to reasonable, but it’s definitely not better than most places I’ve see. Case in point, the 90 min DFHIPA was 11.99. It’s always on sale at Safeway for $ 10.99. They had the Narwahl stout from Sierra Nevada 4 pk for $ 9.99 – in fact, I just bought this from them. Saw it at Safeway on sale for $ 9.49. I did a price match on several different beers, and if you can find the beer at a large retailer like BevMo in Carmel or Safeway, go there. You will often save a buck or more on a case or large bottle of beer. Also, in my experience, Trader Joes has by far the cheapest beer. It also has a kinda crappy selection of beer, but if you can find it at TJ, it always trumps Safeway or BevMo. Case in point, the Brown Shugga Ale from Lagunitas is on sale at Safeway for $ 9.99. It was $ 9.49 at TJ. It’s $ 10.99 at Roger Food. The Sumpin Sumpin Wild Ale was $ 8.99 at TJ vs $ 9.99 at Safeway. It was $ 10.99 at Roger Food. .So, the general rule of thumb is this for prices: 1) Trader Joes 2) Safeway 3) BevMo 4) Roger Food & Liquor 5) Whole Foods. But, for selection, Roger Food & Liquor and BevMo trumps them all. I think they are both really good for beer selection. Update: In retrospect, my review isn’t so fair. I went to Roger’s again, and I think they have the best craft beer selection on the Peninsula. Bevmo in Carmel and Bottle’s and Bins both tie after that. Prices at Roger’s seem to have come down too. They are priced better now. The one thing I love about Roger’s, though, is that their inventory seems pretty fresh. Bevmo typically has stuff that has been sitting on the shelves for 6+ months. For IPA’s, that no good. Also, forget Post No Bills. Their beers are WAY over priced over there. For example, I think I saw Simtra Triple IPA there for $ 13??? At Roger’s, just under $ 10.

I have been shopping here since Paul reopened the store. Best liquor store around. His beer selection is awesome. He blows Post no bills away. Seriously, bev mo has nothing on his selection of beers. If it is not there he will get it.

I’m all about supporting small business owners, but the cashier was very rude when trying to purchase overpriced beer at this establishment. There is a one dollar difference between using ATM or Credit Card and when using the lesser-costing option, the owner was very condescending and talked to me as if I was stupid. Avoid this place.

Amazing beer selection! I’ve been by this store many times and I thought it was just a regular liquor store, but they have a huge craft beer selection. Some semi-local beers from San Francisco, tons of 6-packs, and a large amount of single pint+ bottles. I will definitely be going back often.

Great place to grab some ice if you are in this neck of the woods and missed a gas station or a market. Quick in and out and you can pick up some booze too… this place is packed with all kinds.
