History

Established in 1994.

Foothills Mobile Veterinary Service was established in 1994 as a mobile, large animal veterinary practice by Dr. Jeffrey Schutz. In June 2013, Dr. Schutz passed the torch on to Dr. Justin Jornigan to continue providing the same personalized, on-​the-​farm veterinary care that he provided for 19 years.

Business Owner

Dr. Jornigan is originally from McDowell County, North Carolina and grew up in the Dysartsville community. His interest in veterinary medicine started as a youth raising chickens, pigs, goats, and horses. As a high school student, he spent his summer vacations working with Dr. Jeffrey Schutz of Foothills Mobile Veterinary Service. Throughout college, Dr. Jornigan worked on various cattle, poultry, and horse farms, gaining valuable practical experience. Dr. Jornigan has an interest in mission work has served with Christian Veterinary Missions to provide veterinary care to pets and livestock in the Navajo Nation, and continues annual work in Belize with First Baptist Church Marion. Dr. Jornigan enjoys spending time with his wife Megan and his family. His other hobbies include horseback riding, hiking, scuba diving, and playing piano.
