The items are a little pricey, but the food itself wasn’t half bad. I ordered the pulled pork basket and got a lot of pork. The kids had fun walking around looking at all the little trinkets. The bathrooms were decent, not as bad as I was expecting from previous reveiws. Overall a nice place to stop before the long haul home.

It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve been here, but I’m getting my revenge. My parents and I stopped off at this place on the road to Myrtle Beach. There was an old lady in the ice cream part of this place. it’s still at the side of the building where it was back then as well. White customer after white customer came in, and she served them. We tried to get service and she did nothing but ignore us. I’d never seen anything like it. I never forgot the name of this dump and tell everyone that drives to South Carolina to avoid this place.

As far as the actual store its a tourist dream. If f you collect stuff from your travels this is the place to go. Some prices are high some are reasonable, depends on what you get. As for the bathrooms the ones up front were closed when we stopped but the ones in the firework area was open. They were cleaned OK. Not nasty at all but not perfect either. The one toilet I use however was broken and did not flush. We have never eaten here but did get ice cream once and it was fine. The pecans we bought were wonderful, pricey but they are anyway. Warning! I’m not sure what happened of it was on purpose of just a computer glitch but we have two exact same charges twice. So of you but here keep an eye out on your account or use cash. At this time I am not saying they have done anything wrong. I will update when all is said and done.

Wow! This place has an enormous load of crap. The food is sub-par and the prices are set for tourists. Nice selection of shells priced fairly. If you’ve never been, go so you can check it off the list and never return. Avoid the restrooms. They might have been clean when the billboards went up.

LOVEIT! I’ve been going to and from the beach for 30+ years as a kid and adult; this is the first time I stopped at Sparky’s and I LOVE it. It is a bit pricey compared to stores similar to this; however, it is the last tourist type stop out of beach area.

Great place with literally everything under one roof. Great road trip stop. I liked the pecan selection and the mountain sweet’s licorice. People are nice and have that southern hospitality kindness.

Prices are outrageous for their merchandise. If you’re in a rush, don’t bother ordering food. We ordered a BLT, hot dog, and a scrambled egg and it took over 35 minutes to receive. People who ordered after us received their food well before us. The store is dirty and the eating areas are unkept. It is a tourist trap for certain.

This is the worst tourist trap I’ve ever been to in my life. EVERYTHING is over priced, and not just a little… We are talking 700−1000% markups from other locations! Shark tooth necklaces, $ 11, which are $ 0.99 down the road. Cups are $ 10, little photo books are $ 20. The prices are to the point that it should be illegal!

Sparky’s has everything from gas to local jellies and everything in between. Fireworks check shells and crabs you bet it is the beach after all. Restaurant serving bar b q yep its the south clean restrooms. Sparky’s is a must stop every year when leaving the beach. So on youre way out stop by sparky’s for a fill up a bite to eat road trip snacks and of course souvenirs.

We stopped for lunch and I’m glad we did. It’s a giant treasure trove for tourists. The food was very good especially the hot dogs, pulled pork and corn dogs. Simple fare at a great price. The ice cream was delicious too and many flavors to choose from. The store sells fireworks, shells(great prices), and kitschy souvenirs. They also have a nice selection of flavored pecans. We’re fans!

They have everything you could possibly imagine, but the store is dirty and expensive. Bathrooms are cramped and beyond disgusting. It makes South of the Border seem like a luxury resort in comparison. I would not recommend stopping here except out of idle curiosity and with a large bottle of hand sanitizer waiting in the car.

You can’t miss Sparky’s. There’s about 50 signs for it on both sides of the highway for miles. It’s main appeal is the fireworks, as there’s a giant room full of them, but the complex is huge and is great for the tourist who forgot to get souvenirs for their friends and family, or needs to stock up on saltwater taffy to appease their coworkers. Mostly everything on their signs is accurate. The restrooms are clean-ish but they smell terrible. I don’t think there’s a lot you can do about that since there’s gotta be hundreds of people going through there every day. Food is way overpriced and not really that great, so don’t plan on stopping there for lunch, you’d be better off hitting a fast food joint somewhere.

A decent little stop on the road to(or from) Myrtle Beach. Situated on Highway 501, the main road to or from the Myrtle Beach area, Sparkys is a relic of another era. It feels like a roadside attraction from 50 years ago. It’s a combination gas station, diner, and very elaborate gift shop(fireworks stand, local foods vendor, various touristy souvenirs like T-shirts and knives and magnets and mugs and such. You can’t miss it. The building is bright yellow, and there are signs for miles in each direction. The food at the diner is adequate, it’s total greasy spoon chow. Rather authentic to being rural South Carolina. They indeed have a very nice display of fireworks, if you want to load up on things that go boom, you can definitely do it there. Gas prices are okay, no complaints about their fuel service. They’ve got a decent display of souvenirs and tourist items beyond that. Local items like boiled peanuts and fudge, to lots of T-shirts, knives, magnets, mugs, basically a really well stocked gift shop. If you are leaving Myrtle Beach and didn’t pick up enough tchochkes on the way out, this is your chance to grab some on the way out as the last stop. However, they know they are the last stop and don’t have a lot of competition, so expect to pay a little more than you’d pay at just about any other place around the area.

One constant about road trips is the need for gas stations. Sparky’s is that and so much more. They have that, but so much more. There is a café(of sorts — not sure I’d eat there, but it is an option if you need it), fireworks, plenty of touristy options if you forgot to stock up before you left the beach, and even plenty of food treats too. Perhaps some of the best are way at the back of the building, where you can find lots of chocolate-covered pecans. They aren’t necessarily cheap, but they are awfully tasty. I imagine they put them back there because you have to walk through all the other stuff to get there — some people probably give up finding them when they see the sign out front advertising the pecans and don’t find them in the first three buildings(we have done so before), but keep going and you’ll get there eventually. Staff is generally friendly, and gas isn’t badly priced either — though like most places in South Carolina, you’ll pay more if you use a card vs. cash. Just something to look out for. Wish they would change that one of these days.

A HUGE roadside souvenir/gas stop. They have everything from boots to fudge and boiled peanuts to Myrtle Beach magnets. A little on the pricey side for a lot of their stuff, but what shop like this isn’t? Worth a stop if nearby.

I feel like I hit the Jackpot by stopping here. Now let me say that this and the other location featured on Unilocal,I think is the same spot, but my phone would not allow me to check in at the other one, so I tried this one and it worked! Harley Davidson boots for under $ 100. WTF! Really. Somebody please pinch a sistah because I must be in a sweet dream! We both so much stuff that we had to repack the trunk and one of us didn’t want the man riding with us to know she bought some shoes, so she threw her old shoes in my purse and wore her HD Boots home… My kind of girl! This place has some of everything for everyone. Food, Clothes, Souvenirs and Shoes. I both a little of everything and Terry even both us all ice cream cones to the drive. My cone was a little too old for me, but the ice cream brought back good old memories. I should mention that we kept seeing signs that told us this place has CLEANBATHROOMS. Now, honestly I wanted to stop because I saw a sign that said CHOCOLATECOVEREDPECANS. But since I posted pictures, I feel the need to tell you that the bathrooms were very clean. BUT they stank like hell! :)

My husband and I usually stop at Sparky’s on our way out of Myrtle Beach. It’s best for getting gas, fireworks, and fudge. It has a big parking lot and is pretty easy to access right off the highway. The bathrooms are a little on the scary side. We also got some peaches from the produce stand outside and they were good!
