We are a full service bookstore: we special-​order books, can have them shipped directly anywhere in the world, and offer a wide selection of fiction and non-​fiction books, including the natural and cultural history of Mariposa County, Yosemite National Park, the Sierra Nevada, and Mother Lode. We have a children’s book section. We are co-​located with the Pony Expresso Coffee Shop.

History

Established in 2007.

Upon retiring after working in Yosemite National Park since 1980, Gary & Reva Colliver decided to open a bookstore in Mariposa. Originally located on Highway 140 (main street), as of January 2012 we relocated upstairs at the Pony Expresso Coffee Shop.

Business Owner

Gary and Reva met in Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, in 1962 while working and climbing there there during college. In 1965 they were married in the Yosemite Chapel. After working in biological research and as a mountaineering instructor and guide (Gary) and as a waitress (Reva) during the 1960s and 70s, they returned to Yosemite National Park (Gary as a Ranger and then Planner for the National Park Service; Reva as a Waitress at the Ahwahnee Hotel). Gary & Reva both retired in 2007.
