Mary Ann S.
Business Owner
As a child in the 1970’s, she practiced yoga and was interested in nutrition. She was influenced by her mother who listened to radio and TV broadcasts of noted nutritionist, Dr. Carlton Fredericks. Her family doctor was an osteopathic physician, so it was only natural that she chose that career path. As an osteopathic physician, she was taught that the body, mind and spirit are connected. The body has an inherent way of self regulation designed to restore balance. After finishing residency, she began to realize that patients with chronic disease were kept alive with western medicine, but always coming back with more health issues. She wanted to not just stave of disease, but be more preventative. In 1996, she attended her first functional medicine seminar and began a life long learning process which led to the physician she is today.
