We have been here a half a dozen times and brought the whole family. Seems like each time we have spent between $ 100 — $ 200 on each visit so that may not be much but it is something so it was annoying when my niece asked for a price on a small empty old bottle that she uses to make soap dispensers to give as gifts and she was told by the owner(after she looked on Ebay) that they were selling on Ebay for $ 10.00 so the price was $ 8.00. OK, well… you have a customer right in front of you that is willing to buy and you don’t have to ship it. She would have paid up to $ 5.00 but not $ 8.00 for a small(looked like 7 oz. bottle). We found similar bottles at Sweeten Creek and they had a price on them of $ 3.00. So, needless to say, we have gone to Fiddlestix for the last time. She may not have known we had been there many times before but after it was clear that we have been there she could have adjusted her price but she didn’t. Also, when I go Antiquing, I want to look through antiques not local artist creations.

Directed by an enthusiastic local I went to check out the«antique store in an antique building», as the woman put it: Fiddlestix occupies the big wooden building of the old skating rink, so it is very spacious. It’s been in business for 3 years and it’s a store of «a little bit of everything», as an employee puts it. It started out as antiques and vintage store, but gradually became an outlet for local artists and has displays of pottery and woodworking. It has a little bar counter near the entrance with drinks and unobtrusive music playing. Because of the old building and dim lighting the place overall has an air of antiqueness.
