Carlos Shoe Repair

Always friendly and speedy. I needed a few things done to my work boots before I went back on shift and he got it done! He does a great spit shine too.

Dropped off my wife’s dress shoes on a Friday 12÷18÷15 for a simple (super glue) fix as a surprise for Christmas. Was told it would be $ 18 and ready on Tuesday 12÷23÷15. Showed up and Carlos, the owner was gone and the shoes were not ready. Told the assistant this was for a surprise and I needed them the next morning and to call when they were ready. Didn’t hear anything back so I called and LM. Still no reply.
Tuesday, 1÷5÷16 I call and are told they are ready. When I asked what happened, no explanation, only hostile attitude. What? Why am I getting a hostile attitude for asking why the shoes weren’t ready when promised and why I never got a call back. Stopped in the shop same day and picked them up. Spoke to Carlos and he asked if I wanted him to lie to me and I said no, duh. I want to know why they weren’t ready when promised, why no returned call and why the hostile attitude. I will say in his favor he did hear me out and did offer to refund my $ 18 (which I didn’t take) but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for me to ever go back to his shop.
From now on I’ll visit Eric at Hi-​Tech Shoe Service in Concord who has a 5 Star reputation. So sorry I was in a hurry and didn’t consult Unilocal first.

Dropped my boots on Wednesday, he say’s $ 35 for both shoes even though the left boot was the only that needed attention. I ask how soon, assuming 30 min. Since it only needs glue. He advises me takes 24hrs to dry so Friday would be the best day to pick; agreed and I left.
Returned on Friday; today, his assistant could not locate them, now the owner comes out, can’t locate, then goes under the counter and tells me, «I said to pick up Saturday…» I replied, «No» and he see’s his own notes and replies, «Oh, I did say Friday, give 30 min.» I have my 8 month old son with me hungry assuming I was just going to pick up and leave; 5 minutes all together, but no. I wait for 10 min, still has not started working on shoes. I told him I don’t have time for this and that I have my son, he ignores me. I raise my voice and advised him to turn the marine off so he can hear me. Instead, he goes to his iPad and slams my boots on the counter in front of me like it was my fault that my shoes are not done. He also replies that the day is not over. That made my ears hot? Knowing I have my son, I stayed cool as we exchange words, then he snatches my card off my hands like I was unconvincing him… What a douche!!!
So he refunds me, but doesn’t give me a receipt of the refund. I asked for it, then I enter my email to receive. I leave I drive away, I check my emailed receipt, he only credits me $ 10. I drove back furious. I enter, I say why did you short me $ 25? What is our deal? Then he replies, I refunded $ 35. I show him receipt, he tried to hustle me like I wasn’t going to check the emailed receipt. Ten he tries fixing it, but doesn’t know how cuz he competed an incorrect transaction. He takes his wallet and say’s FU here’s cash, only gives $ 20 is cash, I reply your still shorting me $ 5 then he insisted that I was an A-hole…whatn a arrogant prick.
I told him that Unilocal was right. And I should’ve never came. Only reason was that he was 5 min away from my home. Not worth it!!! DONT GO HERE!!! He is unorganized, pompous, non-​customer service having piece of cow poo!!! F his practice of not doing what he is suppose to do and charging up front and shoes not being done.

Tried to pick-​up a pair of shoes that were being repaired the day after they were ready. Got to store at 9am and waited until 9:40am and still not open so I left. The hours posted on their door and on their message when you call the business both state the store opens at 9am. Stopped by the next day (Saturday) and was told by the woman working that: she could not find the shoes but that Carlos would be there at 10:30am. I called about 7 times from 10:30 until they closed at 2pm and all I ever got was Carlos’ voice mail, which BTW-​the mailbox was full so i couldn’t even leave a message. Monday 9am I start trying to call the shoe repair to find out if they found the shoes and to see if they were actually open. I called every 15 minutes to no avail and his mailbox was still full, could not even leave a message. At 10am I drove over, the store was still closed. Got home kept trying to call off then drove back over at 11am and the store was just opening. The woman working said she still had no idea where the shoes were and that Carlos would need to find them. I said «When will Carlos be here?» She said she had no idea. I asked if there was any way she could get a hold of him and she said no. I went back home and tried calling Carlos, no answer/​full mailbox. As of now, not sure if we’ll ever get the shoes or what but this place is a huge joke and clearly ran by someone who has no clue of how to run a business properly!!!

I stopped in on a sat morning & told the owner that the pet rescue i volunteer for was having a «shoe drive» fund raiser. He offered to donate 50 prs of shoes! Thank you so much! Its great to know that people like him give back to their community!

I brought my favorite boots in a couple weeks ago which were making s weird clicking noise when i walked and he fixed them perfectly and gave them a good polish! They were done in two days!

This business is very unprofessional and did not provide the service for which I paid. I brought my suitcase to him for repair. I brought it in on a Saturday and he promised it to me by Tuesday. When I went to pick it up, he hadn’t even repaired it it. Then told me to come back in a half hour. Charged me $ 20 for a quick fix. Took the bag on my next trip and the bag broke again. He told me to bring it back. Another quick repair, another break. When I called him again, he hung up the phone on me. Basically it was $ 20 down the drain as I still had a broken suitcase. He did not put the time or effort into fixing the problem.
Very unprofessional, work is sloppy, and I was treated very disrespectfully. My first review was removed from Unilocal because apparently it didn’t meet the posting guidelines. I guess the freedom of speech is gone these days to report bad business owners. I would highly recommend finding another shop to fix your shoes, luggage, purses. This business doesn’t even deserve one star, but there are no negative stars to report.

DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY! It’s been almost 4 weeks since I dropped off two pairs of shoes.
$ 38.00 paid in full. when I arrived a week later to pick up my shoes I was handed a pair that were not mine. I say these are not my shoes he begins to look for my Charles David shoes he says hes sorry but cant find them and his assistant must have misplaced them, In my rush on my lunch hour I leave with just one pair, btw the pair I left with were not polished or cleaned in any way shape of form when I addressed this he said they dont make the touch up color «Camel» Really? he didn’t even wipe them down of try to shine them. So instead of receiving a call from Carlos am calling him leaving messages to get some info on my shoes finally he answers his phone and proceeds to tell me that he found my shoes they were accidentally given to the wrong customer Yay super excited, UNTIL I called to make sure the shop was open during my lunch time… he answers and tells me the shoes that the customer returned are nine west shoes not my shoes, so now after 3 weeks almost 4 weeks he goes on to say they might be in a box in the back where the shoes that are left behind for a long period of time. So by now you can only imagine how pissed off I am but I ask him what happens if you don’t find my shoes? His answers well am not going to pay you for a brand new pair since yours were already worn. I then ask him how much more time does he need to conclude this issue according to him he plans on calling me Monday August 3^rd with his final word. His customer service is horrible and the fact that he has not even attempted to make right of a situation that is going on a month is beyond comprehension. In fact I believe that right thing to do is to reimburse me for the loss of my Charles David shoes and the $ 38.00 I paid in advance for a service that I did not get. I will continue to Unilocal on this matter keep everyone updated for as long as it takes. I will not let him get away with this. DAVID money doesn’t grow on trees and you have an obligation to provide good customer service and keep in mind I will never be able to replace my shoes… Think this through very carefully before you call me on Monday and you don’t have my shoes.
FYI …now a days you cant find a pair of shoes for less then $ 40 bucks not even at payless shoes.
