Mona Mokarram, DDS

I really can’t say enough about Dr. Mokarram and her staff! They all are exceptional friendly, accommodating, outgoing and kind. Dr. Mokarram is patient, professional, explains everything clearly and genuinely seems to care about how you are doing. I would recommend her to everyone.
I’ve had some really rough experiences with dentists and doctors in the past and it is so comforting to have found a neighborhood dentist that is so phenomenal.
If I could give Dr. Mokarram’s office 6 stars for bedside manor I would.

Dr. Mokarram is personable, mindful of the costs to her patients and explains every procedure before and during. Both of us feel a sense of confidence and a connection from her.

Dr. Mona Mokarram cares her patients pretty well, very professional, she and her staffs are always nice to people in various ways. There was a time my appointment had to be rescheduled due to a family emergency of Dr. Mokarram, I was given a $ 10 gift card as an apology and gas reimbursement. Both my kids love this place and never complain anything about them. I would recommend this office to my friends and neighbors.

I am very sad to have to write this negative review where I was originally going to give a review full of praise for Dr. Mokarram and her office staff.
I was looking for a dentist for my two young children, ages three and five. I wanted to find somewhere local to make my children’s «dental home». Our previous dentist, which both my children saw regularly for cleaning since they were 12 months old, was 40 minutes away. Though I loved them it was just too far of a drive with our busy schedules. I quickly found that my insurance did not cover any dentists nearby I was comfortable with, I am very picky. My children have excellent teeth and have had regular cleanings so I figured I would still look close by and pay out-​of-​pocket cash for their cleanings every six months and any fillings they may need down the road. I found Mona Mokarram’s office, a five minute walk from my house!
It all started wonderfully. Since my children already had insurance I was providing them, I wanted to call local dentists that did not accept their insurance and see if I could get a discounted rate for cleanings if I pay cash up front. I thought it was a little bit ridiculous to pay almost $ 200 per child for a 10 minute cleaning, that insurance companies only pay out 50 – 100 dollars for. I called and inquired about my situation and if she would consider accepting a discounted price (similar to what would be paid out by insurance). I explained that it was important to me to find permanent quality dental care locally for my children and that I expected them only to need cleanings twice a year because we take very good care of their teeth. I had found another dentist a little bit further away in my city that said she would do the cleanings for a discounted price. Dr. Mokarram offered to meet her price so that we could make her our children’s life dentist. It was very important to me that they not change dentists often, I wanted stability. I was very happy and looked forward to their first visit for cleanings.
I was so impressed at her willingness and felt she was more interested in patient connection than money. I felt that I could really trust her. This is what made me want to bring my children to her rather than then the other dentist that offered me a discount.
My children’s first visit was great (though I expected her to take x-​rays which she told me we would do next time). Her office staff were friendly and helpful, as I had three children ranging from five to a-​month-​old with me. I did vow that next time I would just bring one at a time! Dr. Mokarram took excellent care with my children and made them feel very comfortable. We were coming from a specialized pediatric dentist environment geared specifically for kids but she made up for this in being kind and friendly towards them and even gave them little treats after their cleaning. I left happy and looking forward to the next visit in six months. When the time came to call to make the appointment however, things changed.
Maybe she forgot our agreement, maybe she just didn’t want to take a discounted price anymore, I’m not sure. But I was told that the discounted price I was given was just an introductory offer for new patients. Which is definitely not what we talked about and agreed upon. I was to pay the discounted price cash for the cleanings every six months, and if they ever needed any other dental care in the future we would discuss that when the time came. When I tried to mention our agreement I was met with less than friendly inflexible treatment.
So I let the receptionist know to tell the doctor that she just lost a patient that thought that she was better than that. And that I would be posting my experiences on Unilocal.I also mentioned that I did not need to hear back from the dentist and I wasn’t expecting her to change her mind. She had already disappointed me and lost my trust. I was very sad at the whole exchange, to say the least. I had very high hopes.
Dr. Mokarram did call me, what she was going to say I’m not sure but I needed to move on to find my children another dentist to call home. I am very sad as this is exactly what I wanted to avoid, moving my children around to find a home dentist.
I gave two stars to be fair because she, as well as her staff, were very kind to my children and me on the first visit and she did give me a discounted price that one time.

Dr Mona is the best dentist I have ever had. She is very kind and explains things well. I have been going to her for over 5 years. My children also like her very much. We are lucky to have such quality dental care in our little town.

Lucky for me, I’ve only ever had to do the prevention part! I LOVE Dr. Mona Mokarram, DDS and everyone in the office! I have been going now for over 3 years. I was going to another office in the area and just always felt like a number to them. This team is like family! From walking in the door, to some polishing to Dr. Mokarram herself everyone is just amazing and I adore them! In fact, I’m not the only one. There are over 10+ people and their families that go to this office! They are ALWAYS so accommodating and always offer wonderful PREVENTIVE measures to insure that I never have to be drilled.
I’m one who likes going to the dentist because my teeth don’t have a ton of problems, but even if you do, I have seen nothing but care and kind hearts take care of those who may not have had the best experiences in the past!

I went to get my tooth filled at Dr. Mokarram’s office today. The experience was great as usual and I’m really glad she filled my tooth instead of placing a crown. I highly recommend her.

I went to Dr. Mokarram for a regular check up and teeth cleaning and have never had such a pleasant experience at a dental office before i came here. Her and her dental assistants were very friendly and the office was clean. They have late appointments on certain days which works out for my schedule which is the reason i decided to try it out. I went in they handled my teeth and i was in and out promptly. I am scheduled to go again for more work soon thanks Dr. Mokarram and staff for your professionalism and courteous dentistry!

Dr. Mokarram is the best dentist i have been to! She calms me down and eases my anxiety before perfroming any work on me. She is extremely professional and always is pleasant to visit! I hate going to the dentist but she makes it easy and my teeth have never been in such great shape! I always get compliments on my smile — thanks to Dr. Mokarram!

Beware!
I saw Dr Mokarram recently as a first time patient. At this appointment her very kind assistant made good quality x-​rays. After examining the x-​rays and my teeth, Dr Mokarram told me I would need to have 5 — 8 cavities drilled and filled. As a thirty-​something who has previously had only one confirmed cavity… and a patient who has encountered and fled a ‘drill happy’ dentist before… I was skeptical. I left my appointment with Dr Mokarram determined to get a second opinion.
Today, I got a second opinion from a dentist who came highly recommended by a co-​worker. The second opinion was informed by a visual exam, cold test, and the history of symptoms I provided. The diagnosis: The pain I’ve been feeling while eating cold foods is caused by gum recession exposing the roots of some teeth — NOT cavities. Using the quality x-​rays made by Dr Mokarram’s very kind assistant, he pointed out two teeth with areas of low density. He recommended that these two teeth be carefully watched in future exams. He did not recommend ANY fillings.
*If you have not already become a patient of Dr Mokarram’s, I recommend that you look elsewhere. If you are already a patient of Dr Mokarram’s, I recommend that you get a second opinion from a trustworthy dentist before agreeing to receive any invasive care.*

Dr. Mokarram is very personable and affable. She has kind words always and very empathetic to her patient. I am one of those with dental chair anxiety now and she is always sensitive about it. Her staff is very respectful and thoughtful as well. They give you reminder calls and do not mind getting calls for follow-​up inquiry. Street parking. If I run out of quarters, the dental staff comes in to save me as well! Highly recommended!

To be perfectly honest I am one of those people that are scared to go to the dentist and I went there for the first time today and this is by far the best dental office I have ever been to! The Dr. is very thorough and explains everything very well. She is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met and her staff is the same! She came highly recommended by a friend and I would recommend them to everyone I know. They are gentle and thorough. I love my new dentist!

Dr. Mokarram is honest, friendly and professional. The staff are very welcoming when you walk in. She makes the experience of going to the dentist a pleasant one. She is very knowledgeable and will always make suggestions that would best fit your needs and priorities.
