Saw these guys driving in their company van on the road today and they totally cut me off, we’re driving like crazy people, swerving, looking in their rearview at me! I think that any person stupid enough to drive around in a company vehicle, with the logo, website and phone number on it should be fired– even worse if it was the owners. I wouldn’t want them having any part in my event. Were they running late? Not a good sign. Do they just make a habit of driving the company vehicle like that? Not good either. What if I threw a party and one of my guests was on the road near these people, how embarrassing! Zero stars and I would never recommend to anyone. Talk to your employees, and/​or remind yourselves, the way you conduct yourself in that vehicle says a lot about your business. And if you can’t behave on the road– I suggest you do yourself a favor and take your name and phone number off of your vehicle!

We used QMEP for our wedding and were very pleased. Jason, was our initial contact but our DJ was Jenna. We found the service to be a little scattered as our date drew near, as Jason was busy getting the San Diego business up and running but he responded to our needs in a timely manner. The the music was PERFECT and very well executed the day of our wedding. Thank you and Jenna. Really nice job!

I haven’t even met him or used his services but I have had the pleasure of learning that Jason has a very big heart when it comes to business. He has offered an incredible kindness and I am touched by this…

I found QME through my venue (Brazilian Room-​the most amazing venue for ¹⁄₅ of the price of other venues in the area with less of an atmosphere).
I was very nervous planning everything from Chicago. I have been to weddings where the DJs were bad and it definitely affected the wedding reception negatively, but I pretty much had to put my trust in the Unilocal reviews because I wasn’t planning on making it out in time to test everything.
I cant begin to explain how fantastic Jason was! I realize this sounds cheesy but he knows how to read a room and play the perfect music. People keep commenting on how great the music was. We had a pretty shy group of people and I don’t think that dance floor was empty once the entire night.
He played the perfect mix of today’s hits (I keep having images of my elderly aunts and uncles dancing to Watch Me by Silento) and classic favorites (Shout and the Twist). We heard just about every type of music that night but the song choices were perfect for our group!
I highly recommend QME for DJ. We used them for up lighting as well-​they were cheaper than the other rental company and Jason set it all up. He also played our ceremony music so I wouldn’t have to pay $ 600 for a violinist. Everything was perfect and I couldn’t recommend a more perfect DJ.

I was stupid to post such a rude review! My deepest apologies. I was having a shitty day & just went off! You were actually amazing! I saw nothing wrong, just the family complained to me. I was wrong, & hope you can forgive me! As a wife of a business owner I’m realizing how irritating bad Unilocal reviews can be! Wish I could take it back!

I cannot recommend Jason as a DJ enough. I planned most of my wedding on my own, so my vendors were pretty important.
Things I loved about Jason:
1. He was very relaxed and totally knew what he was doing, esp at the Brazilian Room, the venue where the wedding was. He gave my officiant a lapel mic and set up a mic for readers. He had a wireless mic for speeches.
2. Meeting with him before the wedding was really helpful because he gave me piece of mind about the order of events.
3. He played music that I liked (hip hop) and music that older guests liked too. He did it in a way that everyone felt like they got what they wanted.
4. On the day of, we were sort of a little stressed about the procession, so he helped organize that.
5. He helped with the flow of events by making quick announcements: cake cutting, dancing, dinner, last song, etc. This made guests feel at ease.
6. The market lights looked great.
I got a ton of compliments on Jason’s work and I’d definitely recommend him for Bay Area weddings or other events.

Musical Heart Strings has had the pleasure to work with Jason of QMEP on two occasions. Each time he was professional, courteous, and attentive. He was right on que for the music, and his sound system is wonderful. He was also very vigilant checking the sound system to make sure the speakers were working properly throughout the course of the evening. We have worked with DJ’s where there were complications with the mics during the ceremony. That is not the case with Jason at the helm. He is a true professional.

Jason was the DJ for our wedding. Everything went well and smoothly on the day of. Jason showed up early and did the double set-​up for both the ceremony site and recpetion room. He played the music we requested and cued the whole event nicely. We are very happy with the service on the day of. I took one star off for the unresponsiveness we encountered during the planning process.

I worked with Jason for my wedding in Sept 2014. I never leave bad reviews but weddings are pretty important and no one should be stressed out with unresponsive and unprofessional vendors. Jason was terrible to work with.
I hired Jason to set up my ceremony and the market string lights for my outdoor wedding. I was planning my CA wedding from NY so all of my communications with him were via email. A month before my wedding he wouldn’t respond to emails or calls. On ⁸⁄₁₉ I emailed him to finalize details and asked him to give me a call so we could discuss. Did not hear back from him until 2 weeks later and he asked me to reschedule. We rescheduled the phone meeting and he missed that too. We decided to finally skip the phone meeting since I was going out of town and it was 2 weeks before my wedding. I told him to confirm details with me via email. Still no response until 1 ½ weeks later. In the end I finally got the contract from him 3 days before my wedding. He had to make some revisions and on ⁹⁄₁₉ I asked him if he would accept paypal or a check since the the event was that weekend. No response. So on the day of the wedding in the middle of me greeting guests during the reception Jason is hounding me for money. He could have politely waited until the end of the event or better yet been more organized and given me the contract a few weeks before the wedding so we could have handled the payment earlier. I tried finding another vendor a few weeks before the wedding (extremely STRESSFUL) since I didn’t know if this guy was legit but at that point most vendors were booked. I would never refer QME to anyone. They are truly the worst vendor I dealt with during the entire wedding planning process.

We booked Jason for our Aug. 2^nd wedding after meeting with him and then realizing that he had also DJed for our friends’ wedding in Berkeley. We really appreciated the detailed packet he had us fill out before the wedding, it was nice to know that he had all of the music details we wanted figured out beforehand. He handled the ceremony music perfectly, and did a great job at the reception picking songs and taking requests (including the surprise hit Getting Jiggy with It). He also helped keep us on our timeline throughout the day, which was a huge help.

Jason DJ’ed my wedding at the Brazilian Room, and did a fantastic job. We actually weren’t sure if we wanted a DJ at all, but after talking to Jason we realized what a DJ really could bring to our wedding.
We were a little concerned about our wedding party because we had quite a few guests come in from China, but Jason had an excellent selection of music that they were happy with too! We changed our schedule about 100 times before the wedding, and Jason was flexible with it as the day went on.
All in all it was great, I feel like the music always matched what we wanted and he did an excellent job of coordinating everyone. Our dance floor music went great, I was actually surprised that we had so many people dancing!

We saw Jason at two different weddings. My husband and I were not engaged yet but we knew when it was time we would want Jason as our DJ. Finally the time came and the first vendor we called was him! We were so happy he was available. Jason provided our ceremony and reception music, our lights, and the photobooth! Jason was very easy to get a hold of by email.
He is very laidback and was helpful when I had no idea how many lights we would need. Jason and his attendee were very professional and helpful on the night of our wedding. We loved dancing with all our guests on the dance floor! We also found out that night that my cousin used him in his wedding 5 years ago! Everything ran smoothly and now my brother is interested in using him for his wedding next year!

QMEP was AMAZING. I got married at Ardenwood Historic Farm in late April. From the get go, customer service was above par. The only downside was they took a little while to take my deposit (as a bride, I’m closely watching every available dollar). But other than that I have no complaints.
When I first met Jason, (he wasn’t the first rep I had dealt with there), he was so friendly, and so happy and willing to make our day wonderful. He automatically made me feel at ease. I had a whole list of questions I had ready to ask him, (I’m a bit of a control freak), but he asked me and got my input before I even got a chance. Some people fake wanting to be helpful, but he honestly made me feel like, he would not want anything else but to make sure this day went without a hitch.
He and his staff were super friendly, engaging, and very patient with us (Even when a few of my friends showed up the rehearsal a bit tipsy). He made notes on EVERYTHING and was well organized.
I am so very happy I chose Ardenwood, and that Ardenwood came with QMEP and Jason. I would recommend their services to any brides out there!

Jason DJ’d our wedding and did such a great job!
Our ceremony was wonderfully mic’d, followed by some fantastic music throughout our reception. We’d forgotten to give him a collection of songs to be played during dinner but he managed to queue them up, seamlessly, without anyone but my wife and I noticing!
After dinner the dance floor was packed with so many of our guests having a fantastic time! Jason’s tunes were a fun mix of new and old with some special requests mixed in. It was so much fun seeing the dance floor suddenly shift into the fandango!
I would highly recommend QMEP and working with Jason agan.

Jason did an awesome job as the DJ for our wedding recently. QMEP’s website was informative and the contract Jason sends is very thorough and easy to follow. Jason did a great job playing the crowd and made the evening really fun. Our guests all said he did a great job. From working with Jason via email to working with him in person, he was professional and friendly, and he made the whole process painless. I would highly recommend QMEP and Jason.

Jason and his crew were seriously epic at our wedding. I was absolutely shocked to see some of the negative reviews, and they are so opposite of our wonderful experience with Jason. He was energetic, fun and treated everyone extremely well. A true pro! He helped make the event wonderful. Our friends commented on how much fun the music was, how awesome he was with requests and how he really made it great.

I want to start by saying I do not leave many bad reviews on Unilocal but felt compelled to because of what happened on our special day and because you only get one wedding day.
We wanted to have our wedding at Ardenwood Historic Farms and were told to contact Jason at QEMP regarding the venue. Jason started off very professional and responsive up until our wedding day. That is where the 1 star rating comes from as I describe below in detail how bad QEMP is, in particular Jason.
* Bride and I gave Jason a detailed 2 page word doc with whole ceremony and reception outlined but it was evident he did not review the doc after discussing in detail on numerous occasions. He started music to early during ceremony, was given specific direction of 2 songs to be played for intro of bride and groom with music provided and did not mix them properly and had awkward pause in front of guests, played songs we asked not to play, lined wedding party up in order to be announced then announced us backwards, you get the point…
* It is mentioned in other Unilocal reviews Jason has a temper, which was apparent. He yelled at our wedding coordinator/​friend, out loud in her face, threatening her before the ceremony all in front of the bride and had the coordinator in tears and shaking. It was because she was telling Jason’s staff what to do with reception setup because wedding started in 45 minutes and no tables were even setup. Very unprofessional and had bride all concerned.
* Jason and I were also involved in a verbal altercation during reception in front of the bride and her parents. Bartenders told me they were not serving drinks after 9:30pm and we had property to 12am, drinks to 11pm. Our dinner was also an hour late because preferred caterer’s ovens broke and had to drive to get backups. When I asked Jason regarding matter, he told me the venue changed rules week before due to drunk driving incident the prior weekend on property from another QEMP wedding. I said that I was not informed and not in contract. He then yelled, «if you want to go by the contract, I’ll shut your wedding down now.» This is where the altercation occurred back and forth. Again very unprofessional and upset the bride and brides father. Almost ruined night if it was not for great friends.
* Preferred hotels both did not have arranged discounts with QEMP. We booked our wedding at the W Hotel, now Aloft hotel, the hotel shut down 4 months prior to wedding without notice while changing their name and guests could not book rooms until 30 days prior. I had to inform Jason as he had no clue and negotiate my own group room discounts.
* Was told on numerous occasions we would have access to Paterson house for wedding party to get ready and take pictures. Less than week before wedding it changed and we only had house for an hour, now only just for picture. Jason had bad relationship with venue after incident past weekend where drunk driver caused property damage. I spoke to Ardenwood managers to get story and work out compromise. Nothing on Jason’s end.
* Complete lack of professionalism during reception. Had 5 – 6 off duty employees hanging out behind DJ booth on dance floor??? Kept playing music we requested not to play.
I maturely called to get both sides of the story before I made any judgments and did not accuse Jason of anything until I heard his side of the story before I wrote this review. On the call, he yelled and swore at me on the phone and I eventually hung up.
Jason did go out of his way to hang up lights over the reception area that the bride loved, he did provide dance floor lights for no fee and he dressed very professional but too little to late for me.
I will also state his assistant and property coordinator, who we really liked and saved our day, has since quit.

I recently hired QMEP for a wedding in San Francisco and was very pleased with how everything turned out. We used Kit Shires as a day of coordinator and Jason Shires as the DJ.
Kit Shires:
Kit is amazing! Keep in mind that Jason and Kit are extremely busy, so if you need a lot of attention, they may not be for you.
Kit is outstanding. She managed to pull everything together day of. During the planning phase, we chatted over the phone a handful of times and we even met in person.
Kit was very accommodating. She really made me feel like it was my special day and that if i asked, she could help me out with anything. If you are a bride that knows what you want, Kit is great at execution. She stays calm and friendly with everyone. She will make great suggestions but will not tell you how to do things.
Kit organized the wedding party, gave everyone their que’s for announcements, helped organize the speeches, etc. She went above and beyond what I expected and was even helping serve champagne to our guests. She is very attentive via phone and in person really helped day of. She puts out fires and makes it look easy.
Jason Shires:
Jason is a very busy DJ. Jason is good if you want to hire someone with wedding experience. Again, if you are high maintenance Jason may not be the DJ for you as he is very busy.
Jason managed to play all the requested songs at the right times and kept everyone dancing. He also was good with figuring out pronunciation of everyone’s name and did announcements without a flaw.
We did have a video to be played and there were a couple hiccups. The video began playing at a really low volume so not everyone could hear and it was not played in full screen, but those are minor complaints and did not affect the night in a huge way.

Found QMEP through searches for a DJ that can play English, Chinese and Indian music. We did experience some confusion with Jason when scheduling our first meeting. We did not receive a re-​confirmation of the meeting and I did call/​email him a few times the day before and day of and didn’t hear back.
Decided to give it another go because his email apology was sincere and subsequent email responses were quick. After meeting Jason, my fiancé and I liked his vibe, music selection (in all 3 languages) and that he was able to show us lighting and equipment samples all set up at their Martinez office. Jason came out to San Francisco for a venue walk through, offered suggestions on how to make the multi-​room space work within how much equipment we wanted.
Day of the wedding, Jason and his assistant showed up on time and well dressed =) We had abit of mic issue during the ceremony but figured it out, not a big issue. Jason played the music we wanted and got people dancing as much as they would (it was a Sunday wedding with people having to work the next day!). All in all, a great experience.

I am planing my wedding and was told about this DJ company and I have regretted ever since. 1) Jason was unable to send a contract to me, even though he already took my $ 200.00 deposit. He claims that he sent it in the mail but I never received it. We verified the address with him so that was not the issue. 2– he canceled appointments very very last minute. 3– cannot return calls in a timely fashion. I have been in customer service all my life and I know how easy it is to send a quick email letting the client know whats going on. I don’t like the fact that he took the deposit and just cut off all contact. I called him again today to try to figure out what was going on and we texted back and forth until I called him. The conversation was not nice. I could not get a word in edge wise and he just yelled at me. I had to raise my voice to be heard. I have never been treated like this and I will make sure that everyone knows how quantum music does business via all social media. Jason needs to learn how to speak to clients.
I expect the money to be refunded to the credit card.
I would like to give it no stars but I am unable to.

We met Jason while looking for a wedding venue. The venue ended up not being exactly what I wanted but I knew right from the start that I wanted Jason to be our DJ. He was so nice during our venue walk through and was so down to earth!
He was so nice to agree to come to our venue which ended up being 2 hours away from the area, he was on time, very professional, and helped out wherever possible. He made sure our guests had fun on the dance floor and played all the songs we wanted!!! I would definately recommend him to anyone!!!

I appreciate the company trying to justify their actions or provide an explanation for their bad review (s). But, when it’s sincere, I think it’s safe to say that people can recognize that. In this case it looks like they are just trying to cover their own butt.
Just an fyi, I did provide the company with my name, e-​mail, address, and phone number. Not only that, the guy on the phone repeated all of that back to me. I would not have hung up and then expect all that without providing them my contact information. I’ve read previous posts by people that have received poor «pre-​service» and if you’re reading this, you should too. Do your research. Who knows, maybe it was too last minute? But the guy said they were available for the job… Maybe it was just a random thing and I got forgotten about. I tend to have that kind of luck.

What?! I haven’t written a review about these guys yet? Back in November, I got to work with QMEP for the Unilocal Helps event.
These folks came through big time. They took so much of the stress off my shoulders and helped me find the best deals for tables, linens, disposables and even a red carpet. Kit and Jason rolled up their sleeves at the event too. While I was busy running around, directing vendors to their tables, Jason and Kit took it upon themselves to get lighting, sound and tables set up. To work with direction is one thing, but to instinctively know what goes where and how to piece the puzzle together is another.
Before the event, Jason and Kit replied to emails in rapid speed and nearly every phone call had them on the other line. I’ve worked with a number of event companies and what I appreciate most about Jason and Kit is their easy breezy nature. Always cool and calm, these two make event planning look like a breeze.
Jason and Kit seamlessly shifted between working with a high sense of urgency to making it completely stress and hassle free for me. It ain’t a Unilocal party unless, QMEP is in the mix. Even if they’re not DJing, they’re always helpful with lighting, sound, photo and even event rentals. They’re downright indispensable at this point.
