I LOVETHISPLACE! All you can eat is always good in my book combine it with sushi and double win! That Tako is amazing and the Chef Roll is superb… service is a little off putting at times but the sushi is what I come for.

We eat here often. It’s a great place for inexpensive sushi. You do have to order from their menu, but the rolls are huge! It takes a little getting used to their way of ordering, order two rolls per person for the first round then 1 roll each round after. I would like to see an expanded menu and faster service, but the atmosphere is nice.

I would give this place a 4 star rating for the food but i gave it a 2 and heres why. On the hikuni side is great. The chefs are awesome. There is an waitress there that is their every time we come in and she is soo rude. Never smiles. Acts like we should serve her. When we were eating she wouldn’t even say excuse me and reach over my plate. I have a baby and when she brought our soups and did it right over him… She really upset me and I told her and she didnt care one bit…

Used to be a great place to eat rating is based on service 3 months ago I’d come in and get my food right away. Now I am done with my first roll we are waiting 15 mins for our next, very disappointing. New employees every time I go in which is often. Food is delish, cheap and decent for an all you can eat sushi, although I must say I hate it when they put lettuce on my rolls, seriously?!? So that’s my thought

This is not a specialty sushi bar, therefore it wasn’t very good. Somebody needs to learn how to roll them sushi bc they were loose and ginormous – unless they wanna call them sushi burritos?! :T

I went here again and they have really improved! I did not venture towards any tuna rolls this time, but the service was much better, and the rolls were fast and tasty. All of these improvements with the place still being busier than usual.

Service sucks. My food is always cold when I get them. Take them longer to make a tempura roll than cooking a hibachi. By the time I was almost done with my food… they finally gave me hot sauces. I only go bc my friends likes their food. Sooo it’s more of a social area for me than a place to dine

This place scared me. My husband and I tried to go in last weekend when the weather was about 106 outside… the restaurant inside was just about the same temp. The air was stagnant in here and it smelt musty. What scared me the most though was the fact that it was so hot inside and they are serving raw fish. We left without ordering, it was a shame because we were so excited to try this place. I don’t think I would ever go back and give it another shot… not when it comes to sushi.

Excellent fix on the way. Chinese run sushi bar with grill well done. If you want to sit at the grill, they have several. At the sushi bar all you can eat under$ 10 for lunch and $ 14 for dinner. Basic rolls and sushi but fresh.

Not bad at all for being in a deserted strip mall. The restaurant is really big with a nice bar and a lounge area in the back as well. We came for the all-you-can-eat sushi at lunchtime on Sunday and it wasn’t crowded at all. FYI, it’s dinner pricing and dinner options for the AYCE sushi on weekends. Yay because nigiri is only served for dinner! The rolls were quite large so I couldn’t eat as much because I got full fast, especially on the tempura rolls. I recommend the Ocean Lover because the fish was still raw even though the roll was deep fried. That one was tasty. The salmon was fresh but the albacore was weird. I got the maki albacore roll and it looked like the fish was cooked before being rolled up. Unfortunately the cooked parts tasted rubbery. I’m going to have to come back again and take advantage of the nigiri though and not mess with that albacore.

The service was exceptionally good. The Miso could have used some more tofu, leeks and seaweed, but it had good flavor. We didn’t care for the sweet sauce on some of the rolls. The Tuna lovers sashimi tasted wonderful. I was delighted with the low price.

Don’t go here! Service is terrible! They’ve also perfected their scam in the all you can eat sushi with giving you one roll and then ignore you the rest of your stay. If they serve you at all(which is what I experienced tonight). When I asked where my food was(wife and kids were served already), the waitperson says«The sushi chef forgot.» I almost went ballistic! Again, DONOTGOHERE!!! NOTWORTHTHEBSHEADACHE!!!

My mini-sushi loving daughter and I decided to try this place out at a recent mommy/daughter date-night. To sum the whole experience in one sentence: It’s like we fell into a sushi rabbit hole. Location: This place is kind of tucked away in Marysville. It’s a combination Hibachi/all-you-can-eat Sushi place and this place is HUGE. The interior seemed clean enough with some cool architectural touches… my daughter thought the mini Golden Gate was cool. They basically have sections, Hibachi and the Sushi area. Experience: Upon walking in we were guided to a table and given two pens and two pieces of paper. The paper had a list of sushi choices and each person could order 2 rolls at a time. We ordered the basic spicy tuna roll, a fried(tempura’d) spicy tuna roll, a fried(tempura’d) salmon roll, and(yet another) tempura’d roll that had some imitation crab/cream cheese filling. What lesson did I learn? Not everything tempura’d is delicious… or edible. Why, you ask? Well, it seems the chef made the roll and then the cook in the back battered it HEAVILY in tempura and pretty much cooked the filling inside. So, instead of raw fish you get regular cooked tuna/salmon. I don’t mind it cooked, but if I order sushi I want raw fish. I’ve been to other places and even tempura’d items are LIGHTLY battered and briefly dropped in and still remain uncooked. I dunno, seemed like someone got a little carried away at the fryer. We ended up only eating half of our order because we couldn’t stomach it. Afterwards, I felt sick, which is not normal for me(unless I eat some really questionable stuff). Side note: The Hibachi area seemed alive/fun, but I don’t know if I’d go back even for that. Also, the wait staff seemed friendly enough, but everything seemed really slow. They were confusing orders left and right. Price: Price was cheap. $ 12.95 for the all-you-can-eat deal and our bill came out to $ 25+tip, which is still good for 4 rolls. Overall, the experience was very odd. Despite the deal, the food didn’t make the experience worthwhile. I was not impressed and will likely not go back. It just didn’t give me the warm/fuzzy.

So… this place is a little strange. I came here for the Thai food and realized this place is actually HUGE but always empty even during dinner time. which is strange because I usually go during the weekend. It’s divided into two restaurants, a Japanese all you can eat sushi place and a Thai place. I’ve never had their Japanese food but I always get their Basil Chicken fried rice and Pad Thai with tofu and I think they’re both pretty good and not to mention, big portions! I’ve had their tom yum soup and it was alright. But I always have left overs and when I bring it home, it tastes just as good as it did when we first got it.

Upon walking in, the hostess asked us if we wanted sushi, Hibachi or Asian food. Not really knowing what were being asked, we replied sushi and were told about the 12.95 all you care to eat sushi deal. We agreed and were shown to a corner table in the tepan side of the restaurant. Honestly, it might be worth your time to say you’re still deciding and look at the menu on the hostess’ desk — there’s Thai, Tepan(Habachi), Chinese and Japanese food available. The Hibachi tables were in full swing even at the early hour, but we were the only sushi customers to start with. The Marysville rolls were delicious, but honestly, the salmon lover and the chef’s seafood choice were the hits of the table. A little heavy on the sauces, but they were balanced and complimented the Maki rolls brilliantly. Definitely recommend starting with the miso soup, the gyozu(potstickers, fried though, not steamed), fried rice and tempura with at least three rolls going in to the sushi station as well. Better to have to try to hurry through the miso with beautiful rolls awaiting you on the table than to go hungry as other diners have reported. We had no service difficulties, and even paused to pet the koi before leaving, with everyone well stuffed. Will certainly be back!

Okay this place is not all that great. They are such ripe off … If ur going for the sushi buffet think twice– they have a menu of rolls that u can only order from and if you want the raw stuff such as sashimi they charge $ 1.00 per piece WTF?!? it’s suppose to be a ‘Buffet’ right?!? O ya no ouster either! The waiter n waitress there have no kind of manners or customer services At ALL! Me and a few friends went out there for dinner and spent a lil over $ 200 but mainly for drinks because we did the sushi buffet. They charged us 18% gratuity because our check was over $ 150 when really they shouldn’t even charge us that because their policy was 5+ ppls & also because most of it was from drinks. So next time of you guys decide to go out there to eat & drink, pay for your ‘buffet” first then open a tap for your drinks that way they won’t charge you for 18% gratuity. I will NEVER go her again! They don’t deserve a single star from but since that’s the only way I can post this review I’m just ginna give them the 1 star that they dint deserve!

I have been to this place so many times the waiter recognizes me. I love the sushi here, I have cravings all the time, and for the price, it is truly unbeatable. Most of the time, the service was OK, a bit of a wait but OK. But, it only takes one bad experience to ruin it all. I would have given them a 5 star and prolly went tonight, but my last visit was just awful. For a place where the waiters know me, I still walked out after waiting 45 minutes and still didn’t get a single sushi roll, or miso soup, or ANYTHING to eat! I was starving! After waiting, we just stood up, paid for our drinks and walked out. I aint coming back for a long time, I’ll give Kenzo a try.

(Note: Review based on the sushi menu… we didn’t try their Thai, Chinese, or Hibachi menu) When I left Hikuni, here’s the adage that came to mind: «You get what you pay for.» We walked in not having any previous knowledge of the place, only following the coupon that came in our local flyer. The hostess told us the options, and we were stoked: $ 12.95 per person for all you can eat sushi sounds pretty damn good, right? I was filled with hope. Could this be it? An amazing sushi place in Marysville, super close to me… AND a sweet, all you can eat deal? Alas. If I was making my rating on food alone, I would go with 3 stars. The sushi selection for the all you can eat is decent — maybe 20 to 25 varieties? Most are pretty basic, but there is the occasional interesting selection; for example, The Hikuni Special Roll has crab, avo, tuna, and salmon, deep fried and topped with tobiko. The joint closes at 9pm, and we got there at about 7:45pm. We were sat quickly, ordered drinks and rolls, and waited for our order. And waited. And waited We didn’t get our first roll until 8:20pm. Bear in mind: there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant, of about 4 each.(Side note, they sat us RIGHT next to another table, when there were at least 4 other tables that would have worked. Felt a little awkward.) Also, we got our rolls one at a time, with probably 5 – 7 minutes between each one. The rolls were okay, not sensational: fresh, but kinda skimpy on the ingredients, just sort of blah. Disappointing. We snagged our waitress(who we RARELY saw, except to give me another watered-down diet pepsi) to order more the minute she brought the second roll. About 20 minutes later(8:45 at this point?) the sushi chef dinged a bell to let our waitress know our order was up… and I knew it was ours, because we were the only ones left who were ordering. No one came for the ding. The chef dinged and dinged,(to the point of being a bit annoying), but to be fair to him, he looked irritated that no one was coming. We kept making eye-contact, and he looked at me apologetically as if to say, «This is your roll.» And I optically responded, «Yes, yes I know.» Server: no where in sight. I wondered if she had ever really been there in the first place? We’d been there so long… I began to doubt her existence, MY existence… and all I had wanted was my sushi. Brutal. I finally stood up and began to walk over to the bar MYSELF, but he gestured for me to stay sitting and brought us the roll himself. And, after all that, it turned out that is wasn’t the right roll; it was a duplicate of a roll we had ordered before. More disappointment. The service definitely gets 1 star. That, paired with the existential crisis that I experienced, drops the overall rating to 2 stars. Some random notes about the actual space: it’s huge. It has two separate rooms: one being a larger dining side, the other being the sushi/hibachi side. There are silly peacocks painted on the tables, a giant crystal boat hanging above your head. The sushi side has a huge fountain in the middle of the room, complete with koi and big-ass dolphins spouting water. I might have been charmed by all the silliness… if I hadn’t been so damn hungry. Verdict: I’ll say it again: you get what you pay for. Are you cool with paying $ 13 for«all you can eat» sushi that’s so-so AND possibly have terrible service? Go for it. But we will be driving the extra 12 minutes to Yuba City, to go to Chikara. Better sushi, MUCH better service. It’s worth nothing, however, I am fairly certain we’ll try Hikuni again. The possibility of having a decent thai or chinese food place so near us is too tempting to not give one more chance. Maybe the service will redeem itself? Or maybe the food will be so incredible I can ignore it’s other flaws? I’ll update when we go.

This place is very new, and I’m glad I’m able to be one of the first to experience it! Having few sushi options in the Marysville/Yuba City area, this place is a gold mine and will surely be very successful. My boyfriend, our friend and I all took advantage of the all you can eat sushi dinner special tonight($ 12.95 each), and it was well worth it. We had all the items from the maki/temaki menu to choose from, plus about 5 or 6 special rolls to choose from, as well as some dinner items such as edamame, gyoza, steamed rice, etc. Between the 3 of us, we each tried the Rainbow Roll, Tuna Lover roll(absolutely delicious), Las Vegas Roll, Marysville Roll, BBQ Chicken Roll, BBQ Tempura Chicken Roll, and BBQ Eel Roll. All were great, with a couple standing out from the rest. We didn’t try the hibachi dinner this time around since we were on a budget, but watching the chef from afar was fun. The prices were extremely reasonable(especially the all you can eat special… absolutely amazing), and I have a feeling this place is going to give Kenzo Sushi in Yuba City a run for their money. Definitely check this place out and get the word out there. I think this place used to be in Santa Rosa, either that or they’re just opening a new location in Marysville. Either way, I’m glad it’s here!
