Impressive AutoWerk

I brought a 2003 BMW in for a front side fender repair. After a short time, I found the paint job had «ripples» in it. Also my mechanic pointed out that they had repaired the bumper and put duct tape underneath to secure part of it! Brought the car back in, upset, and they did fix it. But another bodyguy noticed that they had used «aftermarket parts» and left a main rubber gasket off. The paint is again coming off and there is even rust! Take your car somewhere else!

Came in to get fenders rolled. Simple job with patience. Guy rolled 1 fender perfectly. Rolled the other fender LAZILY AND HALF-​ASSED. paint chipped everywhere and he tried covering it up with black gunk from spray can (tried covering up his own F*** up). if he had used the heat gun for 5 more seconds this wouldnt have happened. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!

The most unprofessional business I’ve ever dealt with. They had a kid from a trade school working on my car. Over sprayed paint on the body. Inside car covered in bondo dust. Missing pieces, hardware left in my door. ‘missing’ inspection sticker. Took it back 3 times and was told «we don’t really do mechanical work». This is after they took thousands in insurance money and had the car for 5 weeks. I know some people had good experiences, I wasnt one of them. I shouldve sued them like another Unilocaler. Car will never be the same. Eventually went elsewhere. Good luck.

I used this repair shop for repairs to a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer after a collision on May 2^nd that involved a raccoon on the highway. The parts to be repaired included but not limited to: front bumper, radiator and condenser. The repair shop had given the car back May 18^th after repairs. On June 2^nd, while I was driving on the highway in the rain, the car’s engine had stalled. It became inactive and stepping on the accelerator had no response. I called roadside assistance and had the car towed to a lot until June 4^th where it was towed to Long Island City Mitsubishi who diagnosed that «water got sucked into the motor from the intake hose which caused the check engine light. Tech cleared the DTC’s and test drove the vehicle. No other DTC’s related to any other existing issues were found. This service cost me $ 108 plus tax from the Long Island City Mitsubishi dealership. I have the receipt for this and the two towing company receipts for pickup and drop-​off of the car. Why this issue had happened was a mystery to me and the dealership. On June 8^th, I noticed that the fender liner that should be in front of the front driver side tire well was missing. The engine air filter is located in this area. The repair shop had replaced the damaged front bumper from the car with a new front bumper or so they claimed, which was also repainted. The repair shop failed to put the fender liner back on the car when they replaced the bumper. This resulted in water being splashed on the air filter without a fender liner protecting it and ultimately causing the engine stalling issue. The transmission oil cooler is also located in this area. Water and debris had gotten into the transmission oil cooler in addition to the air filter. I went to the business on June 9^th and reported this. John, the head of the shop denied that the problem was caused by their worker failing to put the fender liner back on during the bumper replacement. John also refused to look at my car where the location of the problem was at least 3 times. On the new bumper, there is no indication that plastic pushpins were inserted along with the fender liner during the repair process. The holes for these pushpins are in new and unworn condition. John refused to claim any responsibility for this on his or his worker’s behalf. He refused to provide service and parts that were missing on damaged due to his original repair service. On June 11^th, I went to pick up the headlights that were part of my claim and John threatened to inflict bodily harm to me if I did not leave his shop. I stood there when he threatened me and he did nothing other than yell at me at close proximity. He did not give me the headlights that day. Due to the fender liner missing, the following parts and/​or monetary damages are claimed: Front driver side fender liner — $ 70 for 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer New air filter — $ 55 New oil transmission cooler — $ 346 Refund of $ 108 +tax paid to LIC Mitsubishi for clearing the Diagnostic Trouble Codes originating from the missing fender liner *Business has changed their name to Impressive Autowerk. They are not Impressive Auto Center anymore.
Aside from this, the company has been involved in committing insurance fraud with other customers as I have witnessed. The owner, John Bhatti even tried to urge me into assisting him in committing insurance fraud through a false vandalism claim for my car. The business has an F rating from the BBB.
The business has been reported to BBB and FTC as of now.
John is a coward and as unprofessional as they come. He puts on a show to get business from you and then turns his back on you when he or his worker (s) make a mistake or several of them on repairs to your car from which a large amount of monetary damages follow. His workers have even botched a simple fender rolling job to my car for which I had to go to them a second time to correct.
*Note: People who give him positive reviews have probably been involved in insurance fraud with John and only post reviews on his request to offset the several negative reviews he has received.
Update 9÷23÷12: The front bumper that the shop repainted is now showing signs of paint peeling off near the top of the fog light area. Further evidence that they did a horrible job painting the bumper in the first place.

I have taken my car (BMW 335i) to John multiple times for bodywork and the job always comes out great. He takes the time to make sure you’re satisfied with the outcome, even if it goes beyond what you paid for.
I recommend his shop to everyone who needs work done on his or her vehicle.
I will eventually be going back to him for a full suspension upgrade.

John, the owner, is very personable and friendly. He provides very good customer service and goes out of the way to help you. Not a lot of shops can say that.
However, that is offset by the outcome of the work. I had bumpers repainted where I had to do the additional compounding and readjust the trims as they were not fitted right. The paint on the stock repainted bumpers too has begun to chip. (was not chipping when i had stock paint on it)
They are priced lower than most shops — but then again it’s reflected in their work as well.
It’s not a bad shop if you want to get your car in decent shape for a resale

Do not go here unless you want to get ripped off, get shoddy work done to your car, and get bullshitted to by bullshit artists. I would never ever take my car back here again. I took my car in to fix a dent on the side panel and the paint that was used wasn’t even the correct color and when i told john about it he said come back and we’ll fix it but when i came back he gave me some excuse about the sun fading and that it wasn’t his fault. Even though when i called to complain on the phone, john said he stood by his work. I would never go back here again.

I went to Impressive to have a 330ci bumper installed and to my surprise, they replaced the bumper with a bumper that is too big for my car. It’s not an original bmw bumper and it looks awful on my car. when i picked up the car john said this bumper is great and it will up the resale value of your car. when i took the car back because some of the paint chipped off t john he said he could replace it with an original bumper for and additional $ 1000. but i already paid for the wrong bumper so i was very angry. also, the paint is peeling and john said it was from another car bumping into it which is completely untrue. i would never ever ever bring another car again.

If you have E46 and newer or looking for a body shop they are a pretty okay shop.
If you have an older car avoid this shop. I paid over $ 10 000 to do drivetrain swap and motor rebuild and a year later I finally resolved all the issues they caused.
They did timing wrong/​forgot to do it on passenger side of V8… (without special BMW tools, guess timed the whole engine as with the tool there is no way they could have gotten it wrong not to mention securing a broken harmonic balancer with TWO missing bolts to crank shaft.
How the hell do you miss that is beyond me. Cost me several thousands to fix the work they did after we figured out what was wrong, not even suspecting timing because… again. who messes it up when rebuilding engine?

By far the best experience I’ve had at any shop. No one could find what was wrong with my car and John knew right as I told him the symptoms. Popped the hood and sure enough showed me where the hidden damage was. They fixed it all on the spot and even threw on a movie as I waited. Great customer service and the staff is very knowledgeable. My car is running better than ever thanks to these guys, highly recommend them.

So I brought my car back, and they had the front bumper repainted, door repainted, and roof repainted. I’ve put on maybe 2500 miles since the repaint and the front bumper is starting to show white spots from chips, and now my fender flares are starting to show white marks too. The door’s paint definitely isn’t as good quality as stock.
I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my car, and after I detailed the car, you can tell the difference between the paint on the front door compared to my rear door (the one that was repainted). It doesn’t shine/​gloss as much. You can usually tell when the sun is shining on it from a fresh detail job, and you can tell the difference between the 2 doors. To the naked eye or anyone that isn’t a perfectionist with their car, you probably can’t tell too much, but I like to wax my car every so often and always try to keep it clean, and I can notice every little thing.
There was also a lot of over spray. When I went out to wash my car the next day, there was so much specs around the rear quarter and fender flare. I’m assuming it’s from painting the roof again. It took me a good 3 – 4 hours to clay off the over spray, re-​polish, and was again. It seemed like such a rush job because they just wanted to get it out of there. I had to clean the interior because i had huge foots steps on my door sills from them stepping on it to do the roof I suppose.
John is a nice guy and told me that if I’m not satisfied, to bring it back. He’ll repaint it as many times as it’ll take, until I am happy. How can you say that to a customer? I want it done only once and perfect the first time. I shouldn’t have to bring it back over and over again. I dont want all those layers of paint on my car. It should be done only once and it should last. If it started chipping away maybe 6 months to a year later, then i can understand, but only a month or 2? You decide for yourself what type of paint or prep work is used then.

I used to take my 3-​series BMW to the dealership whenever I had any issues, however after being quoted $ 2,000 to replace my cooling system (water pump, hoses, and some other parts) I knew I had to take my business elsewhere.
Several of my friends told me about their good experiences with Impressive Auto Center in Queens. However being a Brooklyn guy, I was a bit hesitant to go to Queens to get my car repaired. After getting a price quote which was a FRACTION of the dealers price, I knew I had to bring my car to Impressive.
After bringing my car in, I can see the guys that work there are real car-​enthusiasts. They were extremely knowledgeable and did a great job on my car. The 25 minute drive back home was well worth it, as I had a HUGE grin on my face because my car felt brand new!
In conclusion, I would HIGHLY recommend Impressive Auto Center to anyone that wants extremely great service and does not want to pay the dealerships exorbitant prices. I will certainly be back for all my future repair needs.

I brought my car in to check for a leak on holiday weekend. John helped me with checking out the car to see where the leak was coming from. He was very friendly, easy to talk to and straight forward. He ordered me the piece I needed and gave me the contact info for the friend who fixes glass because that is where he thinks the leak is coming from.
Went back several time and actually got to speak with Leo. Both are very nice people who specalizes in BMW. I had some doubts originally, but prices for other jobs were quoted for me and seem fair and reasonable. In our current economy, everyone must bust a sweat to make a living so prices won’t be cheap.
I am definitely going back to them for routine inspection and all other work. They are very knowledgeable and don’t seem the type to rip you off a few bucks instead to have a satisfied customer.

Based on the reviews on Unilocal,I called them to have my bumper replaced. The owner was friendly and courteous. I was expecting to go in to order the bumper, but he took my order over the phone instead of having me come into the shop. I went to the shop 2 days later, and my new bumper was painted (perfect match) and ready for installation. The price was exactly as he quoted over the phone, no hidden charges. I would absolutely use them again.

I went there to change the fuel system in my car, told me they would be much cheaper than the dealer. which was a load of BS as I soon found out.
I checked with the dealer and the price for the replacement and whole job would be 300, (parts, labor, and tax) I should of asked what Leo was going to charge, but didn’t. I was just told it would be much cheaper than dealership. I ended up paying over 400 for the job. They charged me close to 200 dollars just on labor.
Another great thing, the job took 2 days to do. I went on a Friday told them what I need and the wrong parts and incomplete tubing comes in. Has to come back on Monday to finish the job.

I had a pretty beat-​up and vandalized 04 g35 that I took to these guys to get fixed. Other places quoted me $ 3000 (2 Westchester body shops) to 5500 (Gabriel’s sports cars) to just fix the 4 panels that needed the most work, nothing above and beyond. I was even told the paint might not match.
These guys quoted me under all those prices for an entire repaint of the car, essentially, to make it look 100% brand new. Obviously I had my doubts about how it’d look versus more established shops. But I just got my car yesterday and let’s just say it looks perfectly brand new, not a spot, not a dent, not a single flaw. It doesn’t even look like the same car. They also interior and exterior detailed my car as part of the price.
Leo and his guys are trustworthy and know their stuff. I will definitely come back for any body work I need. I can’t recommend these guys higher.

I just had my coilovers installed onto my BMW. All the guys there are awesome and do great work. I had the opportunity to look through their past works, rebuild, whatnot, and it’s nothing short of amazing. Also, the guys are very hospitable and informative. Definitely recommend the shop to those who need any work from suspension to bodywork, vinyling, etc. They do just about everything.
