I have been repairing & building things for 53 years. I started my business in 1978 in the Washington Metro area, and after I moved here to Charlotte in 2008. I specialize in the small repairs and maintenance required to own a home. We offer painting services, minor electrical, minor plumbing, molding & tile installation, bead board, & completing home inspection lists when you are selling your home. In addition, we offer pressure washing, deck refinishing and repair, rotted wood & siding replacement. When your honey has a long list for you husbands to do around your house, we can do it for you. «If anyone can, the handyman can»

Established in 1978.

Started: 1978 as Real Estate Maintenance Co. Later changed to J. M. Lilly Fire & Water Restoration

Sold: 1999. Started buying, repairing and flipping houses. Moved to North Carolina in 2003

2008: Started handyman Etc.

I got a summer job as a go’fer for a 40 year old carpenter at age 10 in 1960. My job was to help carry wood, get tools, hold this, hold that, get the coffee thermos, clean up, sweep up, and reload tools and debris. My second summer he let me start painting he railings, floors and steps to porches we rebuilt. In addition, when weather interfered with outside work I would strip furniture in a garage for the man next door. I learned how important prep work was to the quality of the final product. I continued through my teens painting for my parents friends, relatives and people I got to know while working weekends in a 10 chair barbershop. The trades came naturally to me and I continued through my teens and 20’s to supplement my income painting and repairing homes. It wasn’t until 1978, a company I was working for went bankrupt that I decided to place my fate in my hands and started my business as Real Estate Maintenance Co.
