Located in the Charlotte area, directly across from the Matthews Downtown Post Office, Your Local Game Store is a family friendly game store specializing in board games and tabletop games for all ages and interests.

History

Established in 2012.

The idea for Your Local Game Store began when my wife and I were living in Japan. We had decided to move back to the states, and asked ourselves what the best job we could imagine would be. Once we realized that running a game store was what we wanted to do, it was just a matter of figuring out the best location in the country. Matthews, NC is that location for us!

Meet the Business Owner

Timothy B.

Business Owner

Timothy grew up in a military family, living in five different states and two different countries before the age of 18. He primarily claims upstate New York as ‘home’ for his childhood, though he is quite happy living in Matthews, NC now. Timothy graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with a B.S. in Computer Science. After teaching different languages (including Java and English) for a few years, he decided to follow his dream and open Your Local Game Store.
