A great place. After missing the train back to the city late at night we called the Mattituck Motel hoping to find a room. Kerry answered, had a room and also came to pick us up from the station. He got us quickly checked room, which was warm, clean and spacious — and even popped back with lots of bottled water. Lovely guy, lovely motel.

This place was decent, clean, cheap, and in the middle of everything. Kerry, the owner was cool and knowledgable about the wineries and had great suggestions on where to eat. He even offred to pick us up if we drank too much. I didnt need to give a credit card to make a reservation. Our room had to queen beds and was like a little apartment. We would definitely go back in Summer. The beach is down the road!!!

A very nice small motel. It is very clean, although outdated, but I think it adds to it’s charm. Kerry(I am guessing one of the owners) is extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. The room had not only the two queen beds, but a gas stove, a full sized fridge and all the neccessary silverware, glassware and the coofee/tea/sugar packets. There is a microwave and a dinner table. We will most definitely come back here whenever we visit the North Fork of LI.

For a motel(remember, this is a motel, which means it’s not an upscale hotel or resort), this place is as good as it gets. Three friends and I rented a room for a weekend and were suprised by how large the room was: 2 queen sized beds in the back, a kitchenette with a large table, and a little living room area at the entrance. We felt like we had our own little cabin. What stands out most is that the owner of the hotel, Kerry, went above and beyond to be hospitable to us and other guests. We were visting by bike(via the LIRR) and he volunteered to lug all our baggage to the train station so that we could ride around on our last day in the North Fork without being loaded down. We also saw him driving other guests around to take them to breakfast.

In a word, spartan. Hasn’t been renovated since 1970, by the looks of it. The room was large, with two double beds, plenty of space to move, and it had a kitchenette against one wall(which we didn’t need), but it seemed old and run down and somewhat grimy. Note: you need to pre-pay at the office in cash(?!) before they will give you your room key.
