The best BBQ ribs in town. They have daily specials and haven’t had a bad meal there ever. Sports Bar atmosphere.

We went as a family and out of all of us only my son’s wrap was good. My chicken was dry and the sauce too sweet. My husbands fish was rubbery and fries burnt. Everyone else’s food was just blah. Never be back.

Went for the Friday night fish special. It was barely warm and rubbery. Very rubbery. I know this happens when fish is prebattered and let set until it’s cooked. That practice makes fish come out rubbery. I won’t return for fish again.

Always a fun time. Great food, great liquor and beer selection. Lovely owners who work hard to please their customers. Gotta have a piece of gooey cake for dessert.

All the sides taste like they came out of a 5 gallon bucket from a distributor, not homemade. Did not like the barbecue. Wait staff was friendly.

Have been here plenty of times and have not been disappointed yet. They have a lot of great deals on food and drinks depending on the day. It’s a great place to have a large get-​together or just a small dinner. They have breakfast everyday at 6 (although I have never been) and I have yet to taste a dish I haven’t liked.
Offers pizza, wings, walleye, cowboy caviar (just ask!), and kid friendly dishes as well.

Just carried out one of their brisket sandwiches. Worst brisket I’ve ever had. I had to spit half of it in the trash because I couldn’t chew it. Most of the sandwich was gristle. The part that was meat was all curled up and dry. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things said about the establishment. Too bad that wasn’t my experience.

I clicked my heels 3 times in the ladies room when none of the stalls had TP. I opened my eyes and I was still there! UGH
I only went here because I had no idea where I was and it was for a party. I ordered what I thought read as a Black and Bleu burger w/​fries on the menu but what I got was a over cooked boot leather pattie with some weird white ooze on the top that did not resemble nor did it taste anything like Bleu cheese and the spice mentioned on the menu was some weird poof of something orange sliding off the side of the burger with the mystery sauce.
The fries were on the boarder between horrible and not edible. I covered them with ketchup in hopes to make them at least go down a little nicer. WRONG!
I would have sent it back but the service was almost as awful as the food. OH let me say that everyone at my table received equally awful food. The father of the Bride received his food 20 mins after we had all been served and he was one of the first to order! BAD BAD!
I ordered a vodka and water with lemon. Not complicated right? Or so I thought! What I received was a gin and tonic with lime! YUCK!
So I gave my drink to my BF who had ordered a beer 15 mins prior and it never came!
All in all this was a bad experience. I guess if I had known better I would not have gone!
The Taco Bell down the road had better service, I know because we all went there after and got «food» because of the awful things we got at Joe’s.
Sorry «Joe» but this was not a good experience. This Detroit gal has been to a lot of places and gone to plenty of off the beaten path bars but yuck! BAD FOOD and BAD SERVICE!!!

This is the first bar I’ve been to in Mattoon and it was just surprised at how cheap the beers are. I could spend all night here. You get your regular bar grub as well. They also have a large area towards the back of the bar for private parties.

So this place use to be called Gunner Bucks, but the owner changed and it was renamed. I am not a big bar person, but this bar was pretty nice. I loved that they had a menu of the beers and drinks, so I did not have to guess what they had. I was here for my 10 year reunion and the staff were very nice. The prices of the beers and drinks were cheap (of course I’m comparing them to Chicago prices). They also serve food. I did not eat anything, so I can not rate it on the food. You can enjoy bags and pool at Joe’s. I would suggest checking it out either by yourself or with a group.
