I was feeling anxious and he immediately made me feel like we’ve known each other for years. He walked us through the shots, made us laugh, & shared with us personal stories. He booked us a reservation to a private beach and that is where the most amazing shot happened.
He is amazing and has definitely raised the bar for other photographers out there. The photos were received in less than a week! Amazing job, excellent charisma, unforgettable experience.

Chris is a true professional photographer. I would recommend him to everyone. It was easy and fun to work with him. We were afraid that the photho session would be exhausting, but Chris made us feel comfortable and enjoy this process. He guided us to create the perfect poses. At the end we got the shots that we were dreaming about. All photos are amazing, memorable and modern!!! We were blown away by the wonderful photos of our wedding day. Also, Chrise works very fast, we got our teaser shots within 24 hours and had all our pictures while we were still on uor honeymoon.

Effortless. That is the word that is engrained in my mind when I think of our time with Chris and his assistant Mike.
Effortless.
As a guy getting married, it’s easy to conjour up notions on what the photography portion of our wedding will be like. Words like «hassle», «inconvenience», and «pushy» come to the forefront of my mind.
Not with Chris.
To say he is an artist would be doing him a severe disservice. I am concinced that he is the best in the business. Not just in Hawaii, but in the field as a whole.
He made the entire process fun and EFFORTLESS, not just for my beautiful wife and me, but for our entire group of friends and family.
When I look over the photos that he took (which came back to us in breakneck speed btw!), I am in complete awe. He is more than just talented, he is gifted.
He laughed with us, befriended us, guided us and helped us capture our lifetime memories. I am very thankful to have had him at our wedding and would recommend him to everyone!

Chris is by far, THE best photographer we have come across (and we took 3 sets of engagement photos). The shots he captured were beautiful and artistic – that’s clear to see… but he also has the skill to capture the exact moments that you will treasure forever. His positive energy made the whole day of being in front of the camera a pleasant and fun experience.
To top it off, the turnaround to receive all the pictures is AMAZINGLY fast. Literally– a couple days to see a few highlights, and a week to get ALL the shots. We were still in Maui when we were able to enjoy the first few pictures and get excited about the rest of them. Then, a few days later, we were given a professional link to download all the pictures of the night! Since the wedding day goes by in a blink of an eye, and you wish you could slow down and enjoy every minute of it, the photos were a way to relive the day in different perspectives. I am so ecstatic at all the moments that were captured… the different details I notice in each picture each time we go through them.
I am so happy that we found Chris for our wedding day. I would not change one thing… except maybe hire him for more hours. I can not wait for future reasons to hire him again!

Here, I just want to share our experience with those people who might hire him in the future. Frankly speaking, the weeding photograph was such a disappointment to us. We were so lucky to catch up with a beautiful sunset in a cloudy day. But he was even not able to find a good view to record the beauty with his camera in the only one picture he shoot for us with a sunset background. That might show his skill. Next I’d like to share the worse thing happened to us. As a professional photographer, what he did to our weeding photographs is that he didn’t take care of those pictures came from his camera seriously. There is no professional editorial or phone finishing. He did the photo manipulations in a very very unprofessional manner.
Try to avoid this photographer, and find a guy who can treat your pictures professionally.

Chris was amazing and so unbelievably talented! Working with him was a joy. He was calm, funny and a true professional.
We did a lot of research into photographers and I knew that I wanted Chris to be our wedding photographer after seeing his work on his website. He is creative and artistic and all of his shots are done beautifully. After seeing our pictures, I am confident I made the right choice. Our pictures are phenomenal. He captured all the family and friends shots, great candids, as well as creative, artistic and romantic shots that are above and beyond.
We were both awkward when it came to posing and he was able to instruct us to create the perfect look and angle so that our pictures do not look too staged, fake or cliché. He was able to bring out the best in us. At the time, I did not realize how incredible these pictures would be, when I saw them, I was blown away. Chris has a gift for creating the perfect shot.
Chris was able to memorialize our day in beautiful images that truly captured all the love, laughter and excitement that we were feeling. His professionalism, skill and artistic ability were deeply appreciated. Everyone who has seen our pictures are in love with them. Hiring Chris will be the best decision you make in regards to your wedding.

Chris J Evans is amazing! Not only are his photographs beautiful, he knows how to capture a moment. His eye for a great photo extends beyond the lense and into the imagination. He was such a fun person to enjoy our day with and he truly made it special! We flew him to another island… so even if you aren’t on Maui you can still have a great photographer.

We found Chris via his beautiful website. His images were exactly what we we’re looking for and after a brief phone conversation we knew he would be a great fit for our wedding. Logistics were not an issue even though our wedding was in LA.
On the day of the wedding Chris and his second shooter were both fun, enthusiastic and professional. He was very easy to work with and commands his craft well. I really enjoyed working with someone who was passionate about what they were creating.
After the wedding, he worked hard to get us teaser shots ASAP, followed by the full set in an extremely timely fashion.

Chris was amazing. We knew we wanted him for our wedding from the moment we saw his work on his website. Other photographers we looked online seemed to showcase work that was «nice», but was lacking something. Chris captures the emotion, and the soul of the day.
Planning a destination wedding was stressful enough, we didn’t want the worry about it we had the right photographer. We had a couple of video chats with Chris, and exchanged countless emails. When we arrived on Maui, Chris met with us for a coffee to talk about the big day, and put any concerns we had at ease.
On the day, he was a true professional. He kept the balance of allowing us to enjoy our time with friends and family, with doing what he needed to get the shots that we will be looking at for the rest of our lives.

Chris Evans is the man. We recently hired him to shoot our wedding in Makena this Jan, and he absolutely killed it! Chris made us feel super comfortable, and has a very unique and artsy style. The weather was pretty stormy on our wedding day, and the shots came out really cool.
We really appreciated Chris’ communication style and prompt responses to the months leading up to our ceremony. My wife met with Chris for coffee a couple of times, and was able to articulate to him exactly what we wanted for photography. He def didn’t disappoint.
I would highly recommend using Chris for the entire evening as the long exposure dance floor photos turned out really cool. I would also recommend having Chris produce a custom photo album for you. We love ours.

Chris J. Evans is a true professional! We hired him for our Wedding at the Sugarman Estate in October 2014. Not only was his professional demeanor completely amazing, but his photographs are beyond compare. I’ve had numerous people tell me that our wedding photos look like they came right out of Vogue or Vanity Fair and that they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. He truly takes the time to get the best shot in the most unique and stunning way.
These are not your boring, standing side by side, run of the mill wedding shots. If you are a fashion forward and modern bride who wants memorable photos he is your guy! We really wanted something that captured the magic of Maui and he went beyond expectations. AND on top of it we got married during a hurricane, so he was able to really capture the environment and do some really spectacular scenes with the clouds. His talent with lighting is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. In addition, he’s just an all around great guy. Super easy to work with, great with communication (I actually lagged on my emails!) and FAST delivery! We had ALL our photos in less than two weeks, along with a few teaser shots within 48 hours while we were still on our honeymoon, which in wedding photography is unheard of. He also has a package where he will assemble a photo/​coffee table book, which is just amazing for me because I am SO BUSY and I was totally dreading the time to pull that together. It of course came out perfect. Really beautiful!
He’s incredibly considerate as well. While we were taking photos, he would say ok let’s take a break, grab a drink. He completely understands that taking tons of wedding shots can be exhausting. Further, he went out of his way to calm me down before we hopped on our plane, reassuring me that no matter what, hurricane or not, he will get great photos. AND he did just that. Whether you have an intimate wedding or a huge gala affair or just want some incredible photos for another event, Chris will be the best choice for you! You will not be disappointed!!!

We hired Chris to photograph our private wedding on Makena Beach in January of 2015. He was prompt with his response after emailing and we discussed our options and costs within one day. He was very professional, super easy going and very fun to work with! My guy usually hates being photographed and Chris even put him at ease and made him feel comfortable with the process.
Also, his photographs are SPECTACULAR! He really showcased the beauty of the beach, the waves and the moon in all of our shots, which just made them even more special.

We hired Chris for our Maui wedding, and we’re so happy we did! Gotta agree with the other Unilocalers here: Chris is an amazing photographer – check out his website and Facebook page. His work really speaks for itself! I really love that his photos have a magazine-​type feel to them. I looked at a lot of Maui photogs before deciding on one, but I felt that the quality of Chris’s photos really set him apart. There are other photographers in Maui who are higher-​priced, but I prefer Chris’s photography style – there’s something special about his photos – I don’t know any photography lingo, but I know that Chris’s photos are just DIFFERENT from the ones taken by other Maui photogs.
On our wedding day, Chris knew exactly what shots to get, keeping in mind the sunlight at various points during the day, at sunset, and setting up appropriate lighting at night. He’s also just a pleasure to work with-​he made us feel really comfortable and relaxed. To top it all off, he had quite a few «teaser» pics ready for us within TWO DAYS of the wedding! And our gallery was done before our honeymoon was over. Doesn’t get more timely than that! I’m so truly pleased with Chris’s work.

Chris is an amazing photographer, very professional and precise about details, yet very easy to deal with.
My husband and I used his services for our wedding in July and it was very easy to communicate with him via email from mainland, we told him what we had in mind and he suggested few shooting locations that were literally spectacular!
He gave us suggestions on preferable outfit colors for each location and had his own props that we played around with for the photo shoot.
For me the most amazing thing about him was: 1) How comfortable I felt during the photo shoot and 2) The turn-​around time is ridiculously fast. I think we got all of our pictures no later than 10 days after the wedding. 3) He accommodated all of our requests to Photoshop or retouch some of the pictures. 4) He was not very anal about the duration of the photo shoot, he gave us some extra time during each of our two photo shoots at no additional cost.
I definitely recommend his services!

We were lucky enough to have Chris capture the most important day of our life. From day one he made us feel so comfortable. We had a long list of requests and he met every single one of them. Our wedding day was magical and thanks to Chris we have the pictures to prove it. He sent us teaser pictures within days of the wedding. He sent us our entire gallery within weeks. We had the pleasure of working with Chris to capture us with our 1 month old baby. We were very impressed!
