The Garden of Eden Arboretum Is a 30 acre botanical garden featuring nearly 2 miles of Hawaii’s finest walking trails. Many choose our shorter drive through option but we highly recommend walking at least a portion of our trails. We have over 700 plants, flowers and tree’s botanically labeled. Many with stories of their origins and folklore. We feature stunning ocean and costal views, waterfall vista’s and countless photo opportunities. We are a rain forest environment and have rain shelters place strategically throughout the park. We now offer a newly completed restroom facility and independently operated gift shop of all local art and crafts and a food concession area.

History

Established in 1991.

In the beginning… The land was purchased in 1991. The land at the time had no improvements, not even a driveway, and was jungle too dense to walk through. After 5 yrs of clearing, planting and establishing infrastructure, the park was opened to the public. The Garden is now one of the most visited botanical parks in Hawaii. Enjoy

In 1991 Alan became Maui’s first ISA certified Arborist. Alan had always been captivated by the beauty of trees. Especially here in Hawaii where the variety of fruit, nut and hardwood trees is nearly limitless.

It just seemed fitting to establish an arboretum on Maui’s north shore which closely resembles the native environment of the South Pacific, the Amazon and Southeast Asian eco systems. Alan has developed parks and recreational areas both private and municipal world wide. Alan is also a professional guitarist and session player and owns one of the worlds finest eco/​sustainable professional recording studio’s in the world, located near Telluride, Colorado.
