History

Established in 1955.

My family has been Designing and building beautiful flowering gardens, walkways, patios and walls since 1955. www​.design​bylee​up​state​.com 2^nd generation family owned and operated, big enough to handle any size job yet small enough to provide personal service. At least 1 Lee is on every job we are fully insured up to 2 MILLION dollars for you protection and provide a full 1 year warranty. Our contract price does not change unless the client changes the scope of the work. We do not bill extras at the end of the job. I have personally been designing and building gardens for 35 years and have 8 years of Horticulture education, the last 2 being at Clemson University. Business Owner

At age 5 in the summer I remember being with my dad at landscape jobs. I felt tremendous honor to sweep the driveway. There were no leaf blowers then and I would have to start over when I finished, but I loved being outdoors. I truly learned the business from the ground up. We also had a nursery in our back yard or the «farm» as we lovingly called it, for as long as I can remember. So building landscapes is actually what I have done all my life. I was fortunate enough to attend a high school with a strong Agriculture program in which I received many ‘A’ grades. After HS I attended a local community college where agriculture and its Opportunities expanded for me and began learning the «whys» about plants. I graduated with High Honors and an AAS degree in Agriculture Business and then took and passed the Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional Exam for our state, and held the CNLP status for 18 years while I lived in New Jersey.
