Established in 1974.

Founded in Brookline 1974, by Ely Kaplansky, the agency has grown to include branches in Cambridge, Concord, Fairhaven, Marlboro, Maynard, Milford, Needham, Truro, and Weymouth.

Business Owner

Ely Kaplansky founded Kaplansky Insurance in Brookline, Mass. in 1974. A current board member for both the Massachusetts Association of Independent Agents and the Brookline Chamber of Commerce, Ely attained his Property/​Casualty license in 1973. In 1984, he acquired his Life and Health Insurance license and became a Certified Insurance Councilor. He earned his Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation and became a Licensed Massachusetts Property and Casualty Insurance Advisor in 1985. Ely is a former director of the Massachusetts Young Agents Council and a former chairperson for Fitchburg Mutual Agents Advisory Council. A life member of the Mensa Society, Ely also serves as a director of the American University Parents Executive Council.
