Went here with the wife after voting in the primary election. Nice place. Some interesting décor. Very friendly staff. I opted for the Hot Rod burger, comes with chili and chips. It was ok. The bun was good. Can’t go wrong for $ 4.59. The wife ordered two hotdogs which she said was ok. We ended our meal with ice cream, which was pretty good. They have quite a selection of food, including a whole menu page of just french fries. I liked the place, great service, ok food, great dessert. We will return.

I’ve been here a few times. The first time I went, the fries were burnt and the buns on the cheeseburger were –for lack of a better word– chewy. Ya know how beef jerky is hard to bite a piece off? You have to pull and chew until you can yank a piece off? That’s what the bun was like. The second time I went, the food was good, but the fries were still burnt and tasteless… but the rest of the food was amazing. The last time I went, the food itself was, again, pretty amazing… but the fries were still awful. So lesson learned, I will still continue to go to this place because their food really is delicious, but I refuse to order the fries again… because apparently they don’t know how to cook those.

This place is awesome– we were taking a back way from Penn State and discovered this place on Unilocal– we will definitely be back. The burgers come with homemade buns and the handouts fries are some of the best that I’ve had! I highly recommend

We used Unilocal to find a place to eat dinner during our long drive home. If you have the time to sit down for lunch or dinner, it’s way better to find an independent business to support than to go to a forgettable chain restaurant. The food here was great and the service was very friendly. It’s kind of awkward to be a lactose intolerant person in a place that specializes in ice cream and shakes but the waitress was extremely helpful by getting me a sample of their chocolate Italian ice to try. That’s what I got for dessert and I was pretty happy with it, however, I still recommend the restaurant start serving soy or coconut milk ice cream so I can have one of their decadent Sundaes!

This place was a great find in the middle of nowhere. The fried pickles were amazing with a hint of spice & ranch. The duke burger was delicious with the homemade bun. The fresh cut fries are standard to their type of style. Chocolate shake was a great treat. My family loved the house salad, cheese burger sub, fried mac n cheese & tornados ice cream. I didn’t try them so I can’t really comment on them, but if they are anything like what I did eat I am sure they are delicious. Give this place a try if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Food and Homemade Ice Cream all in a 50’s style atmosphere! If you are traveling 322 between Harrisburg and State College make a stop off the Port Royal exit for fresh, filling, and affordable American classics. The restaurant recently opened in the building at the old driving range off the exit. The new owners renovated the inside to a 50 styles malt shop décor’, The menu ranges from subs, sandwiches and fresh burgers(on homemade buns) to classic meals of chicken parm, fish n chips, and many others. The loaded fries are hand cut and piled high with toppings of your choice. In addition to the meals, the restaurant includes a malt shop for eat in or take out homemade ice cream in a variety of shakes, sundaes, parfaits, and mix-ins. There are daily specials, but on Wednesday is their 50’s flash back day, where diners can get .75 burgers, French fries, and shakes! This special is offered all day so go early because it gets busy around dinner time. The service was very friendly, quick, and helped contributed to the overall dining experience!
