I came by with my parents. Their table salsas were the bomb, and their tortillas were homemade. They also had live music(a man played Mexican songs, like«Por Mujeres Como Tu» by Pepe Aguilar, on a keyboard piano and Mariachis were entering as we were leaving). We got a an order of cabrito and steak for 2, with an extra order of rice, and it was enough for all 3 of us. My mother also ordered a salad. It was my first time eating cabrito. I wasn’t a fan, but it’s not their fault – I don’t really like gamey meat. My parents really liked the cabrito, though. Still, it seemed kind of expensive to me. I was left wondering if their Reynosa locations have the same prices. My mom thought their lemonade was too sweet. They also seemed to have aguas frescas(possibly horchata and jamaica – judging from the colors) and a full bar.

First Time I tried Cabrito and I must say it was excellent. I was also impressed with the courteous waitstaff. A little pricey but we’ll worth it.

The food is great but they allow mariachis on site and charge 20 dollar by song(btw they sing horrible) This restaurant should not allow this cain of situations . The piano man sign a lot better and he didn’t charge nothing !

We came by for a birthday dinner. We all ordered the house specialty Cabrito. The food was well cooked and the service was good. The mariachi music was very appropriate for the atmosphere.

This place has never disappointed us! We travel to McAllen every three months and Cabritos Nuevo León is ALWAYS on our places to eat list! The cabrito has always been flavorful and tender. The charro beans are great and the fideo is also very good! We will definitely visit every chance we get!

I was going to dine in but after a couple of minutes of my cranky, tired kiddos I decided to take my order to go. The staff was really friendly and took care to change my order to take home. They even helped me get everything in the car. The food was outstanding! The meat was tender and the portions were generous. I ordered the plate for two people but it could easily serve three.

Delicious authentic Mexican food just like you’d eat across the border. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. We didn’t have to wait for a seat but there was a big party in the other room and it seemed that our waiter was more focused on attending the bigger party along with many of the other employees. On the bright side there was one employee that would tend to us. The first waiter would take forever to bring us a drink or even a napkin but the other waiter his name was Luis he was nice and always brought us what we wanted in a prompt fashion. The price was a bit high but the food was authentic and delicious.

We had a craving to eat a kid so we came here. My wife had told me stories of times when they would go to Monterrey and eat cabrito(which is a baby goat aka kid, this isn’t Hansel and Gretal you nasty’s). The server and ambiance was good. We were in during lunch(late lunch) and it was pretty sparse inside but you could see those delicious looking and smelling cabrito’s leaning against the fire. I don’t know what cut my wife ended up ordering however it was a combo since it came out with a steak, which was delish! It has been man years since I had cabrito in Mexico but it has a taste that brought me back real quick. I also need to mention that my wife ordered some bean soup for the kids and I had some. Let’s just say that my youngest didn’t eat any because there was none left hahahaha They were THAT good.

Really good food! From the outside it doesn’t look appealing at all but nice in the inside. The cabrito is very delicious. I had the cabrito tacos. The grilled chicken plate is also very good and the chicken was very juicy.

Great cabrito. Actually incredible. I was very disappointed in the margaritas. They don’t make fresh Rita’s which is a huge sin in my book. They used Nast sweet and sour pre mix.

Great Cabrito. I ordered takeout. Got the Paleta, very good. Skin was crispy and meat was tender. I think I’ll order the Rininada tomorrow or later on in the week!!!

This place came highly recommended from my husband’s family who live in McAllen. So we came here to try Cabrito(slow roasted kid goat) for my first time. Meat was very flavorful and tender with a crisp skin, not gamey tasting at all. Delicious eaten alone and better with fresh warm tortillas and salsa. Red salsa was my favorite, had a nice spiciness which complemented the meat very well. We also ordered Machitos(goat innards wrapped in small intestine). It was disappointing because the meat came out dry and over cooked, however it did have a good flavor. Good meal, a bit pricey for Mexican food. Cabrito running about $ 25 and Machitos $ 17

My wife and I just had dinner at Cabritos Nuevo Leon and we loved it. The meat was fall off the bone tender, smoky and delicious. The selection of Mexican beer was very good and cold. The tortillas were hand made and fresh and the salsas were all hot and delicious. They serve a tomato based chile casero which you can tell was prepared by hand, and a tomatillo based chile de arbol salsa which was great. Only my wife makes better chile casero, and she is from the interior of Mexico. They have a nice layout but not a huge place, it is clean and the staff is attentive and courteous. They have live piano music playing the Mexican classic boleros and such and around 7:00 they have a Mariachi band come in. We preferred the more laid back piano, but I could see staying late with a few beers and listening to Marichi. The restaurant is a part of a restaurant chain based out of Reynosa and it shows. They pay particular attention to detail and their food is just as good as their main restaurant in Reynosa, which I know well. One word of caution to those of you used to eating cabrito in Mexico, be prepared to pay twice as much as what you would pay in Reynosa. But when you figure you have to travel across the border, pay tolls, gasoline, traffic and perhaps be involved in the violence over there, it is worth the price. Excellent food, we both give it two big thumbs up!

Five Stars +++ Had dinner there yesterday and it was excellent! The menu is entirely in Spanish. Everything we had was top notch — fresh ingredients prepared in exquisite fashion. The atmosphere is by no means fancy, but the food is truly authentic, as well as delicious. The service was perfect — attentive, but not intrusive. Last, but not least, prices were reasonable.

I know. I know. TL;DR. Every weekend we go have breakfast/brunch. We try to search for new places. We’re fans of Rafa’s on Ware. But we want to keep support coming to other small business owners. Today we went to this place. And oh my. The coffee was weak and cold. Strike one. Thuboffered a buffet, a companion went for it. The variety was unimpressive. The quality sub par. I ordered eggs. Over medium. As I take a first bite of the diced potatoes, well, they’re not even warm. Not even tepid. I try another companion’s. His are ice cold as well. My first egg is kinda runny. Not too much. But def not over medium. My second egg, as I have forced myself to eat the cold potatoes, since the beans tast like they were fried in lard. Second egg is runnier than the NYC marathon. I tell the waiter twice that the eggs are undercooked. He ignores me. We drink a lot of coffee. She basically implores for more since they haven’t refilled her cup since the first serving. I’m still being ignored by the wait staff. FINALLY, Broseph comes over and asks if he can take the plate. I’ve worked 12 years in the industry. We know to ask if everything was ok when they tell you to take a plate that’s only been picked at. He says nothing. I volunteer that the eggs were ‘under-easy’. He makes a face and begrudgingly asks if I’d like them redone. At this point of an epic failed breakfast, I say«I’m afraid you’ll fuck them up again». I know. I know. Language. But still. So I paid 8 dollars for cold potatoes, latest beans, no coffee and under cooked eggs, which only about a third of two were eaten. Def not a place I will return to. For any service.
