THIS IS THE WORST ESTABLISHMENT FOR MINORS! WHY WOULD YOU LET OVER 100+ PEOPLE INSIDE OF YOUR ESTABLISHMENT WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION? THEY DON’T ASK FOR PHONE NUMBERS OR NAMES! SO LET ME LET EVERYBODY KNOW MY EXPERIENCE HERE AT THE McCook Athletic & Exposition Center. I went to play basketball one day and instead of a nice day at the gym, I paid to be harassed. Somebody had went into my backpack while I was playing and took my wallet with $ 600 + inside of it. When I realized which mind you was not long after it had happened, I knew the culprit was still in the building because there was a small amount of people at this time. I asked security to check the cameras, and guess what? THEY CAN’T ACCESS THE CAMERAS. GO AHEAD AND ASK NEXT TIME THAT YOU GO. They won’t allow anyone to see footage, «we can’t go through our footage.» Even once I explained that enough money had gone missing for the case to be a felony they still refused to help me at all whatsoever. WHAT A BUNCH OF USELESS, I REPEAT USELESS SECURITY OFFICERS. So once I decided to take manners into my own hands and confronted who I thought had stole from me, I got ripped from behind by throat in a headlock and pummeled to the ground by the same security officers that laughed in my face when me the victim had asked for help! THE WORSE ESTABLISHMENT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO I WILL NEVER RETURN AND WILL CONTINUE TO TELL OTHERS OF MY EXPERIENCE SO IT NEVER HAPPENS TO THEM. BTW my wallet was eventually found inside of the gym and given to me by McCook County Police without any money in it and even the police told me the establishment was corrupt and they had gotten a lot of complaints over the years about them.

I’ve been here twice, both times for the Brew Moon Festival hosted by Palmer Place. This is hands down my favorite venue for a beer fest, most notably because of INDOOR plumbing! They offer two bathrooms for the fest, which were large and stayed clean. Major bonus points for people who are drinking for 3 hours!
The whole place was so spacious. They were able to even fit a food truck, a camper, and a van, plus tables for 150 beer vendors, and a band. Also tables to sit and take a break/​eat. It was a busy fest, but did not feel overcrowded because of all the space.
Workers here were friendly and helpful, and were able to make check in successful. I think if the venue had stunk, I would choose one of the 100s of other beer fests around to go to, but because of this site, I will remain a loyal customer.
I’d consider coming back to try out their new pub too!

This complex is pretty massive and accommodates most sports — football, soccer, baseball, and special events. Living in Chicago, you find this place is quite critical with our unfavorable and unreliable weather. I also appreciate the free parking/​large parking lot.
We visited this for some indoor football practice and appreciated the space (albeit a tad bit pricey). People were mostly friendly. There is a place where you can wait until your space opens up. The bathrooms are few and dated, but clean. I’d come back if I needed some more off-​season practice.

Played our first volleyball tournament there today (11 years old, played with Lions Jr Volleyball club) and this place is a class-​act. Gym is huge, courts are very well layed out and spacious, lots to choose from (concessions, clean bathrooms, seating, vendors, etc) and over all it’s just a great place to host a big tournament such as Lions Jr. /​1^st Alliance did. Great job to them and of course to the Max for putting on a nice event.

Astro turf… that’s what it smelled like and there was a whole bunch of it too. I really don’t know what I was expecting for an MMA fight. Maybe a UFC crowd and atmosphere?
It was a fun time but I think they could have done much better. Specially with putting up more screens for those that couldn’t see the fights or maybe a clock, or something that said who the fighters were, what match it was, etc. I guess I was expecting it to be more organized.
But it wasn’t, just like life, you don’t always get what you want. Lol yes, dramatic I know.

Good place for the taekwondo tournament, needs more bathrooms, though!

Great facility. The soccer program seems very adept. The instructors are friendly and treat the kids well. There is a huge parking lot and area available for kids parties etc. Thumbs up!

We visit this facility once a year for Fall Regional for our Taekwondo Tournament (American Taekwondo Association). The place is HUGE! It’s the first full-​sized outdoor field positioned under a clear-​span forty foot roof in Chicago’s South Suburbs.
At 125,000 square feet, the «MAX» incorporates 79,000 square feet of turf, two full-​sized basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a baseball/​softball academy. The entire building is climate controlled — both heat and air-​conditioning — to allow for comfortable year-​round usage. The field house accommodate private and public sports (clubs) like soccer, lacrosse, football, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, kickball, and dodge ball.
They also have a spectator mezzanine which allows for terrific sight-​lines from all locations and a relaxed, roomy environment for the players, coaches and spectators. During our day long event we had lunch at the concession stand but a vending area is also available.
One of the cool thing I learned about the MAX was it can be rented for birthday parties. You book the party, pay the rental fee, get a party coordinator, bring a cake, pick a concession package and let the kids run themselves to sleep.
