History

Established in 2000.

Dr. Phillip Smith began training Jiu-​Jitsu in 1996. Smith quickly excelled at the sport and propagated himself as one of the most technical student and a great competitor participating in extensive important competitions. In Dec. 2007, after many years of training, Phillip Smith was promoted to the coveted Black Belt rank in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu. Dr. Phillip Smith is very happy to be able to share his Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu passion with you.

Dr. Phillip starting teaching in his garage 2009. After a few months, he needed more space so he opened Smith BJJ at Jodeco Rd on February 1, 2010. In 2015, Smith BJJ relocated to the current location at 1461 Hwy 20 W Mcdonough GA 30 253.

Dr. Phillip Smith has been training in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu since 1996. He currently holds the rank of 2^nd Degree Black Belt by the IBJJF (Dec.2013). Smith enjoys working as a teacher at Luella High School in Locust Grove GA. Smith resides in McDonough, GA with his wife and two children.
