We just had our wedding reception here and everything went perfectly. We had almost 200 people for a buffet dinner and lots of dancing. Everyone loved the food and the staff was very attentive. Thank you for a memorable wedding night!

I was meeting a group here for a lunch date. My friend was visiting from out of town, making a trip from Chicago to the Wausau area. She wanted to keep close to the Interstate and she picked this location in McFarland, for her pit stop. I didn’t know what to expect as I haven’t explored this side of Dane County much. The interior had a look of being refurbished. It looked nice. There was a dining area, bar, and a big party room. The bathrooms are very nicely remodeled(maybe a little dark and with a TV) but very clean and modern. The menu is extensive. We started with the cheese curds. They were a solid B+ on the cheese curd scale. You got your choice of Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing. It was a good portion for the cost. I ordered the Sloppy Joe sandwich on a pretzel bun. It was made with meat from short ribs so it was pull apart tender; which made for a great sandwich. The BBQ sauce was good and light so you could actually taste the meat. In lieu of fries, I swapped in a side salad. It was a big side salad full of green leaf lettuce, cucumbers, and other fresh ingredients. The other folks in my group ordered a burger, a reuben, and the daily special which was a open face prime rib sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy over everything. We all got quiet for a bit so I’m assuming they all were happy with their choices too. The serving staff was friendly and attentive. She even humored us by taking our group picture. So I would come here again if I found myself in this neck of Dane County.

This is a very nice sports bar with a lot of large tvs to watch sports and the staff is always very courteous and friendly. I have been here numerous times for dinner and tried different foods but my favorite is the burger on a pretzel bun. The nachos are large enough to have as a meal for one or share as an appetizer with others. The sandwiches and burgers are all around $ 10 but it is a good price for the amount of food you get. I will definitely be back again and again.

Everything was full of dill! The chowder, tarter sauce, cole slaw, everything! You need to eat your soup very fast because your meal comes after two bites! Lava cake is gluten free — found this out by taste but would have been nice to know before ordering! Best part of the entire dinner was the server, Bunny! She was awesome and had a great sense of humor! Not worth repeating for the food unless you’re a dill fan!

Checked out 5100 on a whim traveling in McFarland. I’m really happy I did and will be back again. Evidently, this place was updated recently and looks beautiful. The bar has nice wood, solid-not-your-average stools, beams, bright paint, great bathrooms. Facilities were clean. Staff provided acceptable service, small sample of beer when discussing new types, etc. The beer selection was very sufficient. I was able to use my 2 for 1 coupon from the Madcity Cocktails Book, which made me happy. Extra impulsively, I then purchased some wings as there may have been some deal going on. 5100 apparently has numerous wing flavors, which got me. I ordered one of the spiciest sauces listed(think something to do with habaneros…), however they were –without exaggeration– the least spicy, bland wings I have ever had. I would love to try one of their other flavors and give them another try, simply because the wings were cooked very well and were not breaded then deep fried. It seems to be difficult to find non-breaded and deep fried wings nowadays. I appreciated that and will try again.

Went for the fish fry. horrible, either they fried the fish for to long or they were fish sticks with 75% batter. Small small portions, overly cooked and the tarter sauce had way to much dill in it. Will never go for the fish fry again. Amazing cheese curds tho.

RUDESTBARTENDERSAROUND! Went there Christmas Day night around 10:00 or 11:00 pm with family that was in town. Heavyset male bartender clearly hates his job. Rolled his eyes every time we ordered a drink, and was extremely rude. Some of my cousins wanted to do cherry bombs, he slammed the glasses down in front of them and shoved their drinks at them. One bartender told us we could order food, but when we tried to order from the heavy set bartender he refused to make it, even though the other bartender told us about their«late night menu.» We were very disappointed in the way the heavyset bartender treated us so we left. Went next door to the other bar and had amazing service! My advice, skip this place and save yourself from the rude service! Just go next door to the friendly bar!

Have given this place severely chances and all have come up very short. Where do I start. Me and my father sat at the bar and waited 10 mins to even get greeted and asked what we wanted to drink. Chris was our bartender and was very unprofessional and felt as if we were bothering him. Bar had maybe 8 people at it at the time including us, was not busy whatsoever. Would have walked out, but I like the food. Service stunk and unfortunately that’s what makes or breaks a restaurant. I can get food anywhere; it’s the service that makes or breaks it. Don’t dine here.

My wife and I come nearly every weekend. Some of the best wings I’ve ever had with an awesome choice of sauces. Great beer selection and awesome burgers.

I went to 5100 Bar and Grill last night for a late dinner with my boyfriend. We ordered dry rub Louisiana Cajun wings and they were great! Super crispy just how I like them. We both ordered the Stroganoff burger. It had zero flavor and neither of us enjoyed it. The pretzel bun was the only thing good about it. I’ve tried the pizza here prior and was not impressed. I suggest sticking to beer and wings.

I recently visited Madison from Columbia, SC. to visit family and they wanted to go here for dinner. They go frequently and said the chicken wings were great. It was a Wednesday night and we arrived around 6:30PM. It wasn’t crowded at all and we ordered the wings. I ordered an appetizer of the fried cheese curds and they were excellent. Actually they were the highlight of the meal. My daughter and I both ordered the ranch dry rubbed wings. My granddaughter ordered chicken tenders and my son-in-law ordered the bourbon sauced wings. The waitress was friendly and she checked back frequently on our drinks. She forgot to put in our order for the appetizer curds and it took quite a while to get them. Actually, all the food took quite long to get to our table which makes me think she may not have put any of our order in right away. I’ never had a dry rubbed ranch wing before and that’s exactly what it was. Looked like they had sprinkled a dry ranch dressing on them after they were done cooking. I ordered blue cheese dressing for mine and the it was about the worst blue cheese dressing I’d ever had. Very runny with virtually no blue cheese chunks or consistency. You could see the specs of blue cheese in the dressing but it sure lacked in taste. I’d recommend the ranch dressing even though I didn’t try it. My son-in-law liked his bourbon glazed wings. I tasted the bourbon sauce but didn’t try the wing. It wasn’t too bad. They had a good selection of beers and I might possibly go back one more time if the opportunity comes, but I find Wild Wings much better as far as the wings go.

This is my 9 year olds review. I always get the Hamburger but there are lots of great things there. My mom loves the chicken bacon ranch pizza. My dad gets the blackened catfish He gets it triple blackened but I don’t know what that means but he says its super awesome. They also seem to like kids here.

I would not recommend anyone to go to this place. The service is poor, the food is bad, and the owner is a complete jerk who doesn’t care a thing about his customers. My wife and I went here for New Years Eve dinner. Should have known there would be problems when the place was not busy on such a big night. My wife ordered the $ 25 steak and shrimp special. The waitress struggled getting the order correct on her iPad. We asked for rolls with our salad and the waitress brought one roll, a little strange but no big deal. My wife’s steak and shrimp came and it was clearly pre-made and sitting under a heat lamp. The mashed potatoes were clearly scooped with a ice cream scooper and were cold, the veggies were cold and rubbery, the shrimp had a thick mushy batter even though my wife told the waitress the one thing she didn’t want was thick batter. After the disappointing special, my wife called the waitress over and said the dinner was not good and she didn’t want it, she hadn’t eaten one thing. she then ordered a chicken sandwich instead, the waitress was nice and asked if we wanted to speak to the owner, I normally wouldn’t even complain but decided to have the owner stop over so I could nicely explain the experience we had so he could improve future customers experience. The owner came over and I told him about the roll, the bad mashed potatoes, veggies, and shrimp. He paused and unbelievably said you clearly do this a lot, implying that we purposely wanted a free dinner. We were shocked. We have never been treated like this. We no longer felt welcome at this establishment and left as soon as we could get out of there. The owner was standing near the door so I told him how shocked we were and he kept the same attitude and repeated that all we wanted was a free dinner and basically escorted us out the door. Stay far away from this place.

I really appreciated that I got 4 pc of fried cod with the Friday night fish fry special but I’m disappointed to say you are definitely getting quantity over quality. Our server was very prompt and friendly to our group of 8 on a busy night. We all ordered off of their special Friday menu. For the fried cod, it was $ 10.99 and served with a roll, coleslaw, and choice of side. Their sides are extensive. I went with the sweet potato with chorizo hash, which was a bit of a let down. Couldn’t make the chorizo, only brown shavings of what tastes slightly resembles the namesake. The cod was greasy, and had more batter attached to it than fish. The coleslaw tasted like it was expired, but I think a vignette was what it was going for. We all got the double vodka lemonade special for $ 5 which helped wash down what turned out to be a let down of a meal.

Went back to this place because some friends wanted to go for fish fry. Got to say – they do a nice fish fry. The cod was excellent, the hashbrowns were solid, and the roll was your standard hard dinner roll, but it was nice. The coleslaw was weird, though. It was very sweet; not my favorite sort of slaw. The price was good, the beer specials were nice, and the waitress was very good. All in all, I can’t complain. I do need to speak about their fried cheese curds, though. I have no idea what sort of cheese comprised them. It wasn’t a standard cheddar. They were waxy and weird, sort of like a cross between a processed cheese and cheddar. They coated them in a thick batter that was overly spicy, probably to compensate for the weird curd taste. All in all – some of the worst curds I’ve had around this fair state of ours. I’d go back for the fish, but skip the curds.

Really wanted to like this place, but they’re in over their head. They were clearly understaffed, which always causes slow service and unhappy servers. We went in looking for a specific game and the hostess indicated they would be able to show it, but after asking several times and providing the channel info, they never put the game on(the entire reason for going to a sports bar that advertises 50TVS and 20 feeds). On the positive side, the beer selection is good and the manager recognized we had been waiting a while and comp’d our first round(we had not complained). They also had two banquet rooms which appeared to be having a good time for their private parties. Unfortunately they have some work to do on the sports bar side of their business.

The food is awesome. I always try something new and have yet to be disappointed. The service can be spotty much like their wifi connection, but the food never fails. Plus the owner talked about adding outside seating next year, which would make that place really popular.

Went out with friends. They didn’t get my dinner order.. The ipad didn’t work. My food came when my friends were done eating and the shrimp was spoiled. Then they up charged hubby for celery to go with wings. Very unpleasant.

We came in for lunch. It was not busy but it still took us 40 minutes from the time we walked in to get our food. Which was just eggs and easy stuff that’s quick. Then she completely forgot to bring my toast. Because it took so long to get our food we had to rush and couldn’t even attempt to enjoy the mediocre food.

We’ve been going back to 5100 since the day they opened. Friendly bartenders and waitstaff. The food is always good and it’s a great place for watching sports with all the TV’s. My one suggestion for improvement would be to not have the smokers hang out by the main entrance. I think there is a smoking room on the backside. Other than that we are loyal patrons and will be back again soon!

I’ve been back to 5100 at least 5 – 6 times since the initial review — it remains consistently good. + Friendly servers + Nice, open bar area with plenty of seating + Tons of televisions + Decent tap selection — No tap menu at tables? Have to look at iPad from server? Hmm. + Food is consistently good + The cheese curds are delicious — easily a top-3 contender + Everything tastes and looks fresh/house made + Prices are reasonable — Smokers congregate near entry way; wish the biz would encourage them to move to a more secluded area — The parking lot has some *massive* potholes — like **massive**

Went to watch some basketball and eat lunch on Saturday. We’ve been there a few times now and the good has always been good. Nothing special but always quick, hot and tasty. There are tons of TVs for sports and the service has always been good. It’s a nice atmosphere and a good game day choice, especially if you want to watch more than one game at a time. We’ll be back

Hubby and I, with a bad case of cabin fever, ventured out for a good old Wisconsin fish fry to warm our spirits. Thought we’d try out the 5100 Bar & Grill. New spot for us but recommended by a friend. Arrived about 6:00, expecting to wait. To our surprise, were taken to a seat right away. Unfortunately, it was in the bar which was crowded and VERY loud and noisy. NOT what we were looking for. Asked for another table and we were immediately taken to the banquet area. Got our menus right away, but waited over 10 minutes for waitress to come to our table. 3 other large table’s orders were taken during this time and they were seated AFTER us! We were about ready to leave since they didn’t seem too interested in us. The waitress suddenly realized we weren’t being helped and came to our table, very apologetic. We decided to stay put and place our order. Ordered the fish fry, baked and fried, and my husband asked for 1 piece of smelt to try. Smelt can be very good or very bad and wanted to check theirs out. We were told that wasn’t possible since all the portions were premeasured in the kitchen and she’d have to charge us $ 12.99 instead of $ 9.99 to sample one piece. Pass on that! Good news was that food arrived. The breading on the fried cod was very thick and crunchy. Inside the fish was shiny and not cooked thru properly. The potatoes were a handful of shreds called hashbrowns which were pretty greasy. The cole slaw was tasteless. Best part was the hot dinner roll. Too bad the butter was melted and had to be poured on the bread! The baked cod was stone cold, but didn’t melt the butter! We should have called for the manager and thought about sending it all back but decided to cut our losses and get out of there. The place was crowded and people seemed to be enjoying their food. Did we just get seriously unlucky? Good news — They take reservations, even for 2 people! Bad news — Won’t give them another chance. VERYDISAPPOINTING.
