This establishment formerly was Rick’s Riverside located at the north end of McGregor on Highway 18. If this was NOT formerly Rick’s Riverside then disregard the following. I cannot attest to what happens during the afternoon in the fall. Probably not too many boaters, & fall evenings too cool to sit out on whatever deck(if available). After 10PM or so, during crisp fall foliage evenings, there is only a VERY makeshift haphazard kitchen with VERY limited food items. I observed a crowd of inebriated locals with some tourists mixed in. Rick was at a counter(serving as a bar) pouring beer as fast as he could. My hamburger(served on plain white bread) was extremely greasy, and other items being served looked equally un-appetizing.

Came here while on vacation and was not disappointed. The bacon cheddar brat was excellent. The staff was very courteous. The view sitting by the river was nice and relaxing. I would come back if in the area again.

This is a river town and the sign says brats And beer. WIth that in mind you will find yourself quite pleased if you stick to that concept when ordering. There are so many specialty brats that they feature a couple every day. You can also opt for other sandwiches fried chicken or wraps. There is also iCe cream too. I had the bacon hamburger brat and sour cream and chive fries. Loved dipping the seasoned fries into a cup of sour crème. Very tasty. Asked for sauerkraut and onions over thrtee brat and was very pleased. The food came quickly and was well cooked. The draft root beer was excellent out of the tap. Great view of the river too. Four stars for being a no holds barred brat and beer garden.

Food was exactly as expected and pretty decent. Cheese curds would have pushed the review to 3.5 if I could, but not everybody is into fried cheese. Great view of the river and easy to find & park. Great place to go for a quick lunch if you are passing through or stopping to check out the shops in McGregor.
