Moore Performance and Race Parts

These guys are amazing — both to deal with in person and their knowledge of Subarus. Their labor is fair and of very high quality and quick. I cannot imagine taking my car anywhere else.
Now — more details. MY ’04 FXT has 150k on it and has been in the rust belt its whole life. I maintain it fairly well, but there is just not much you can do about salt and corrosion. When I took my car in to have them replace the catalytic converter that was riddled with holes, they offered me about 3 different solutions. 1) was OEM replacement, 2) was that they might have a used stock piece lying around and they could maybe use it (MAJOR cost savings over a new OEM or even aftermarket piece) and one was that they happened to have an Invidia cat that someone had ordered but never came to get. The Invidia option ended up being cheapest plus it was full stainless! When they got the original cat off, the down pipe basically just fell off where it connects to the turbo (the flex pipe had disintegrated and was only being held in place by the binding forces between the cat pipe and turbo). Again they came back with options 1) OEM replacement (~$ 400), 2) they had a Moore designed piece for about $ 450 or 3) they could just throw on an ugly/​used HKS DP that was just lying around the shop at no cost for the part because they just wanted to put it to good use. WHAT! A garage that is in business to make money (aka fuel/​fund their car addiction) is going to just kick me down a part that will not only get my car past inspection, but will also allow me to use a more powerful Accessport map… needless to say I want with the HKS piece (I wanted to pull the trigger on the Moore piece, but $ is tight!!!). So that is my Moore story — if there is ANYTHING you need done to your Subie and you don’t have the time/​desire/​experience to do it yourself, Moore is your answer. They are damn good guys, nice guys, experts when it comes to Subies and I will never take my FXT anywhere else again. They have performed other work for me too since this experience in August 2015.

I’m originally from LA but recently started attending CMU. I brought out my STI with me to Pittsburgh and at first I was disappointed at the lack of places to take my car for service. I found Moore Performance and decided to give them a try and they were amazing! You can tell right away that Subaru enthusiasts trusts these guys just by the number of Subarus parked around their building. They do all the service and maintenance you can get done at the dealerships, and they even do detailing. I plan to take my car there for a full detail once the bad weather passes. I’m glad I found these guys and plan to get all my car needs done here as long as I’m in Pittsburgh.
