History
Established in 1975.
The Country Place, a serene and rustic resort was built in 1951 as Fiddler’s Green. After a few years as a fishing lodge, the resort was sold to a family who used it as a private home. In 1975 it opened as The Country Place.
The Country Place is situated in the heart of Oregon’s natural vacation land, 50 miles east of Eugene via Highway 126, with 500 plus feet of McKenzie river frontage. The McKenzie is one of the West’s finest fishing streams, and was a favorite of Herbert Hoover, who would return each year to enjoy the fabulous fishing and refresh his soul. The area is a land of forested hills and mountains, lakes and streams, offering an endless variety of activities for sportsmen and vacationers.
