Cooper Spa at Craig Ranch

I love this place! Coming from a major city, I was hugely surprised to walk in and see such a luxurious and beautiful spa tucked in McKinney. The people at the desk were really friendly (someone in an older review said they were snooty but maybe they had a one off bad experience because these folks bent over backwards to help me). My work had an employee appreciation here recently and it was awesome. I had an excellent Swedish massage, Custom facial and gel manicure (make sure to let them know if you have to remove gels because there is a fee). McKinney continues to surprise me.

This place was amazing!!! The best massage I’ve ever had! I came here with a group of ladies I work with and we all loved the services offered, as well as the tranquility and beautiful atmosphere. Everyone was so kind! Haley took such great care of us and is absolutely adorable! I will definitely be back!

I am visiting from California and recently had a wonderful experience at the Cooper Center! My parents belong there and they were able to get me a guest pass to use during my visit. First of all the facility is enormous, containing any type of workout equipment you could desire. There was a young man working as an intern, ready to assist with any of the weight machines or answer any questions that I had.
My spa experience was wonderful as well! The ambiance of the spa is casually elegant and tranquil. I was greeted warmly by the spa personnel and shown around the spa.
When it was almost time for my deep tissue massage and body scrub, I waited for my treatments in the soothing Transition Room. It was so relaxing to lay on the leather recliner and listen to the waterfall wall, that I nearly dozed off!
I was then greeted by Charla, who gave me a wonderful Seasonal Body Scrub and then my 50 minute massage. Charla was very professional and warm and made me feel at ease. She was constantly asking for my feedback as far as how strong the pressure was and whether or not I was comfortable.
I will definitely recommend the Cooper Spa to my family and friends in the area, and wish that we lived here, so that I could use their services regularly!

I still like the ambiance of the spa and the nice amenities but the front desk ladies seem snooty when I called to book service and when I checked in. OK I get your a luxury spa so you think this makes you elite. Well it doesn’t.
I’ve had massages, facials and waxing done here and I would really just return for facials. The massage was very painful and I’m a massage junky who can take a good beating which means her technique is lacking. The waxing was fine but the esthetician didn’t knock before re– entering the room! Yikes never again.
So I would return simply for the environment but they should work on some of the service aspects.

I love the ambiance of this spa. Yesterday was my first time here (I found this place on Unilocal). I had a 80 minute Swedish massage, Green Tea Bath, and the Vintage Lavender Pedicure. When you check in, be sure to give yourself 15 minutes, as you are required to fill out a health form. Afterwards, the front desk personnel shows you around the locker room and transition room (waiting room). If you have 2+ services, you are able to use their amenities such as the gym, steam room, hot tub and sauna before and after your services.
Locker Room: very clean and quiet. The vanity area is stocked with items that you may have forgotten to bring.
Transition Room: very tranquil and relaxing. It has a wall with a nice «waterfall», couches, magazines, and water. This is where you wait until you’re ready for your next service.
Vintage Lavender Pedicure: amazing. My technician was Marsha, and she was just the sweetest. She did an amazing job. With the vintage pedicure, i was expecting something more vintage? Whatever that means. It was just a typical spa chair with lavender salts… I’m assuming. Nothing too different from your typical pedicure, but none the less, still pleasurable. You also get the wax dip for your feet. Amazing! Pedicure experience– 5 out of 5.
After my pedicure, I was told there was a «little break» until my next service and to wait in the transition room. I wish the front desk personnel who escorted me back to the transition room would have told me how long the break would be, otherwise I would have hung out in the steam room as I waited. I was in the transition room for over 30 minutes, of awkward sitting and waiting. I had to peep my head out to find assistance to ask when I would be seen next.
Green Tea Bath: next time, I will do without this. You can get the same relaxing feel as you would in the hot tub, except, there was a sachet of green tea. The bath experience was about 25 – 30 min. The personnel advised to feel free and shower after the bath, and before my next service, however, there wasn’t soap to shower with in the room. Bath experience– 3 out of 5.
Swedish Massage: it was ok. I’ve had better. It was hard for me to relax and focus as my «transition» period was kind of awkward. On my health form, they ask what areas would you like he most concentration on. I specified upper back and my feet. When the masseuse greeted me, she asked me the same and I specified upper back and feet. She spent most of the time on my back, which wasn’t horrible, but I wasn’t able to fully relax because I was so concerned if the rest of my body was going to get any attention. After all, it is a FULL body massage. There were moments it was a little painful, and I wish she would have asked me how the pressure was. Because of this, it wasn’t as relaxing. I didn’t want to be rude and tell her how to do her job, to lighten up and to not forget the rest of my body, specifically my feet. I would have also preferred the massage room to be more tranquil. Massage experience– 3 out of 5.
Afterwards, I was able to use the hot tub and steam room which was great.
Will I return? Yes. The staff is nice and hospitable, next time I will be sure to know how long breaks will be (if any) so I can use better management with my relaxation time. There were a little things here and there could have been done differently to make the overall experience a little smoother.

Worst massage I have ever had! I scheduled a Swedish massage with moderate pressure. The massage therapist never once asked me how the pressure was, I had to ask her to lighten up on the pressure as she was hurting me! I know now that I had what was more like a deep tissue massage but worse — sore to the touch days later and bruises to show for it. My therapist was very noisy, every time she rolled her stool on wheels around the table and as she constantly stood up and sat back down on the stool I could hear the air deflate as she sat back down. Yeah — what a relaxing peaceful massage that was. To make matters worse, my hubby had a wax service scheduled right after our massages and the aesthetician was running late as her previous client ran late. Ok, so let’s not reschedule the late client and make the clients who were waiting and on time wait for their services as a result. That makes a lot of sense. We decided to leave after waiting 15 mins plus for our late waxing appt and the manager offered us 20% off coupons on our next visit when we asked them to make our terrible experiences right. I said we would not be returning — ever. The manager told me my therapist was new — I guess in their mind this should justify the terrible massage, my bruises and need to take Anti inflammatory medications to even lay down after my massage? After my husband explained we are members of Cooper Fitness and this was our first and last visit to the spa and their treatments, how they ran their business was unacceptable and asked for a discount we got a whooping 20% off. I’ve been to MANY spas all over the world and have received a lot of massages, this is bar none the WORST spa I have ever visited. This is so disappointing as the gym is great — no complaints there. The spa clearly needs new employees who care to do a good job and a management overhaul as well. Please don’t waste your money here.

This spa is very clean and quiet. It is far from the heart of Dallas, but worth the drive if you are seeking peace and relaxation.
The price is expensive.
I only used the nail salon, but I walked through the spa. The decoration is warm and clean with wood and soft colors. The spa also has a relaxing aroma. The bathroom uses some of their signature products so even if though I didn’t buy something from the front product shelves, I got to sample and smell the soap and lotions.
The nail salon was also clean, and the service was good. There enough colors to choose from like Metallica and nudes instead of just bright pinks and reds. A pedicure comes in a massaging chair and with a leg massage.

Ahhh-​mazing. I went for a massage here with a gift certificate I received from an old boss. WOW. My massage was beyond words. The area is completely relaxing and no one talks here — just whispers. My massage therapist, Delia, escorted me back to a relaxing tranquil room where I was to have my massage. Everything was way too perfect, so my expectations were really low thinking that since the atmosphere was exquisite and almost like a dream.
WRONG.
The massage was by far the best I’ve ever had. So, this experience was one of the best I’ve had.

I love spas and normally get a massage at every opportunity. I received an email for a discount this weekend only for a facial at this location. So, what the heck, I booked one. Coming in felt a little weird at the reception desk. The attendant acted like I had been there before so I made a point of stating that I had not. She asked if I «wanted» a robe and slippers… Yeeessss I do. We went back and she showed me where the tranquility room was then the locker room. That was all. No tour of the rest of the womens area. I was about 45 minutes early but no offer or instruction on the sauna, steam room, or jacuzzi… hmmmm.
She did bring me a cup of hot tea and I waited in the tranquility room… My therapist came for me and off we went… for one of the best facials ever.
Jennifer Howard was my aesthitician and I have already booked my next appointment. She was very attentive to my sensitive skin and nothing bothered or was uncomfortable at all. I’m sure I snored a few times during my hour. Jennifer brought me a cup of hot lemon tea which was really really good… wish I had remembered to find out the brand.
After my facial I did go to the jacuzzi for a bit. The facility is very nice, very quiet. I will be back.

The facility is top notch!!!
Once you arrive, you are sized for slippers and then directed to the locker room to get cozy in a robe. There was a nice hot tub and showers available for our use. Had we not had so much planned on our bestie weekend, we would have taken the time for both.
We then sat in the tranquility room for 10 – 15 minutes. It was great. There were nice comfy relciners and a waterfall wall that was so relaxing. Just as we were falling asleep, our therapist come in.
The only awkward part of the day was somehow they booked us for a couples massage. Neither of us realized this until they brought us both in the same room and we were suppose to disrobe and get in bed. Luckily, we have been best friends since high school and we just were comfortable. Otherwise, it would have been really awkward.
The massage was just ok. I am not sure my therapist was familiar with hot stones and how to use the simultaneously to give a massage.
Otherwise, the atmosphere and facility was great. I did receive a coupon in the mail for 20% off my next vist. I think that is good enough of a reason to return. We will know to ask for separate rooms next time and to set time aside for a soak in the hot tub, maybe before the massage.

I’ve been to spas all over the US and haven’t found one better than this one. The tranquility room is a great touch and I look forward to it every time. It helps keep me on time (early even) for spa appointments. Great customer service and only the top of the line aestheticians and masseuses. Fair prices for the luxury they offer. Well separated from the other parts of the clinic and gym so you can even relax in the parking lot (i.e. you won’t have to fight for a space or worry that there is none).

I’m very picky when it comes to spas… they either have «it», or they don’t. I’ve been going to the Cooper Spa pretty consistently since I became a member of the Cooper Aerobic Center and have always felt that the customer is the number-​one priority.
The staff is always super-​friendly, and the customer service is exceptional. One time my service was rung up incorrectly and my card was charged the incorrect amount (yeah, I didn’t check the receipt), and I received a phone call explaining what had happened and that 20% would be taken off for the inconvenience. Another time I requested a specific provider for a massage, and sadly she wasn’t working there anymore. Ta-​da! 20% discount for trying out someone new.
Cooper gets four stars because it’s amenities can’t be beat. There’s a full locker room (spa, sauna, whirlpool — everything the facility members use), a «Relaxation Room» with refreshments, and a wonderful retail area.
For waxing and facials, I exclusively see Jennifer Raymond. She’s so friendly and super-​patient with waxing newbies (i.e., ME). I hope she sticks around, because if she didn’t…well, I suppose I’d have to follow her wherever she goes.
The Cooper Spa also has great hours — evenings and weekends, and it also runs great seasonal specials with seasonally-​themed spa services. Chocolate peppermint pedicure? Sure, why not?
