Whoo Hoo Scallywags is BACK ! Tucked between Krogers and the medical office on the South side of the building right by Lake Forrest. Yummy shaved ice and zillions of flavors to choose from.

Where did yall move to? We come to Mckinny a couple times a year and we always stopped by here when in town, the kids love it, we are here in town now, where are you? Anyone knows what happened or if they moved to a different location please respond…

We try to visit local snow cone places any time we are in the DFW area. This is a great option. We’ve been here twice during our visit. Their flavors are good(there are 64) and they take credit cards. My only qualm is that they have a menu with smoothies on it but because of some odd city ordinance, they can’t sell smoothies at that location. Personally, I think they shouldn’t have them on the menu. The three guys working over the various visits were very helpful… even the cute little teen who was only on his second day. God bless high school laborers. Learning good work ethics early. When you’re tired of overpriced, sub-par Bahama Bucks, give Scallywags a try!

Great sugar free options! The prices are very reasonable. My boys love coming to get snow cones here. Who doesn’t love getting snow cones from a piate ship?

Great place to take the dogs to. Lots of space and awesome texture. They do take credit cards now.

Best snow comes around! Great atmosphere. And the whole pirate ship is just cool for the kids. My favorite — half cherry half coconut. Awesome! The smaller size is totally enough for me and it’s about $ 2? Fun, easy treat for the hot summer days!

Arrrrrgghh! I agree with a previous review: Drive 5 minutes(or less) up Eldorado and you’ll find a better snow cone(or three). At Scallywag’s the service is super fast compared to other such places. However, the ice was so-so and the syrup was lacking in sweetness. Sounds silly, but yes, the syrup was not sweet. And the bottom 1⁄3 of the snow cone was white– no syrup. I ended up throwing it out and chalked it up to a $ 3 lesson.

Yep, it’s a snocone and not shaved ice. And yes, it’s fairly average snocones that you’re buying from a kitschy pirate ship. And sure, for the connoseuirs of snow there are probably myriad other shacks you could snobbishly drive to. But, for our family, Scallywags is one harbinger of summer, baby! Almost any night, the service is great, the flavors are tasty, and the price is right. I’m a pretty simple man and don’t think that I have to find the«ultimate snocone;» we come here because of the fact it’s across the street from us and it’s f-u-n for the kids. Not to mention how fun it is to meet so many great folks who are gathered for the exact same reason.

Average shaved ice for an average price, anyone? How about when it’s served from a pirate ship! This place is all gimmick, no substance. If you drive 5 minutes(or less), you’ll find at least a couple more places just like this that have better shaved ice for the same price. True, you don’t get to buy it from a pirate ship … but then again these kids working here should have to wear a pirate costume. I’d happily hand my money over to have some high school kid give me my shaved ice looking like Captain Hook.

Scallywags calls their product shave ice, but it is not. You can see the snowie machine they use. It’s good, but it doesn’t have that light, amazing texture of true shave ice from a block.
