Snug On The Square

This was our first time here and I was very pleased! What a cute and quaint little place. I love the small town country feel if this restaurant. There are two sides, the coffee shop side which is very intimate and relaxing and the restaurant side. The service was great even though the food took a long time to come out. The omelet is large enough to share. I didn’t see breakfast potatoes or French toast on the menu which was a negative for me. Once the food arrived the presentation was very nice and the taste was delicious. I ordered the build your own omelet, side of green salsa with fruit. My husband ordered build your own omelet with half a waffle. When I’m in the area again, I will certainly return!

I love this place. It’s so cozy and has such a homey feel. Great coffee, lattes, pastries, etc. The service is very friendly too. I love supporting local businesses and I try to come here as often as I can

We have been coming here for years but it’s getting to a point where, even though we LOVE the food, we are going to have to stop coming. 45 – 1 hour for food each time, and we have two small children. It’s not even that crowded, there are open tables. We keep giving another chance and another chance, but sad to say nothing changes and it’s just not worth it anymore. :(
Please fix this so we can start coming again!

Food was good for the price. Parking is good. Nice area to hang out. Took over 25 minutes to get out food. Maybe its just me, because, every time i come here, i have to always wait a long time to get our food.

My daughter says «Mom, let’s move here!» to Texas, from California… and all because of this little hole in the wall. My father in law says «this is the best omelette I’ve ever had in my whole life». Seriously an enormous omelette and a half Belgian waffle that tastes like it has cake batter in it, with fruit and whipped cream for under $ 10?! Unheard of here in So Cal! The breakfast sandwich must have had 10 eggs, easily split between two for under $ 6. Great atmosphere, love the artwork, wish we could pick it up and move it here by the beach in Redondo… thank you Unilocal for this great recommendation.

Best omelette I’ve ever eaten out! By far one of our new favorite breakfast hangouts! Coffee could be a little stronger but overall awesome!

First time visit and we loved it! Omelettes were huge and very tasty! Wait service was cordial &
wait time reasonable for cook as ordered. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ease in finding it on the square. We will definitely come back again!

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE this place. We went there 3 times last week, today, and already have breakfast plans for tomorrow. The value for your money is magnificent. The omelettes are made fresh to order… and are huge… and delicious! No charge for add ins. You want all the add ins? Sure get allllll the add ins. No problem. My boyfriend normally gets the omelette combo. Which is a gigantic omelet, bacon or sausage, waffle or toast, AND a coffee or fountain drink… all for drumroll…$ 8.50. For the amount of food you get, you cant beat it! You can get the waffle with fruit and whipped cream… no extra charge… only extra delicousness.
Most important… the green salsa is the bomb dot com. Yum.
Also, the kolaches are enormous too! I want to try one of their fried pies. It’s on my to do list.
Side note: It’s all made fresh to order. You may not want to place a to go order if you’re in a hurry. But don’t fret, it’s worth the wait! It also gets pretty busy. So make sure you have time to sit back and enjoy this place. You won’t regret it!

I loved that I could refill my own coffee which was very good. My hand pie took forever to come out and wasn’t warmed through but was still delicious. My strawberry salad was average but everything on it was fresh. I felt like the girl taking my order was just trying to move me forward and wasn’t listening to my dietary questions. Overall good experience.

Very cute restaurant. My friend and I ate outside it was very peaceful. I ordered the omelet. I thought it was good but nothing to brag about. My friend got the spinach salad. It looked amazing. Customer service is very good.

Visited Snug on Good Friday with my teenager. They weren’t ready for the heavy traffic the day would bring. It was only after we paid the cashier told us it would be 30 minutes before we received our food. It was 45 minutes with no apologies for the extra long wait when the food was brought to our table. During the wait the cashier and another employee played ‘chase and tickle’ out in the open with no reservations.
I ordered the pimento cheese sandwich which was supposed to come with wheat bread (because they were out of brioche according to the cashier). It arrived with brioche. I took a cursory bite and my first though was «delicious» then I swollowed and my throat was on fire immediately. I’m allergic to raw black pepper and this is what it feels like when I encounter it. I immediately went to the counter and asked for the ingredients. Raw black pepper. It wasn’t part of the listed ingredients on the menu. My money was refunded without any apologies or expressed concern by the staff.
The teen ordered the ham, egg and cheese sandwich. It was ample and his review was «it’s delicious.» This would be a safe bet for breakfast lovers.
All in all, the restaurant part of Snug was a let down, which is sad because we love the coffee shop part.

I had a groupon for breakfast or lunch for 2. When I bought it I didn’t take a note of the fact that you could only use it M-​Thurs. Got up bright and early to get there shortly after opening at 7 am. Place wasn’t crowded though there were customers scattered about. My order took about 15 mins and it felt like a long time for a spinach/​egg/​mushroom melt sandwich and the same combo ingredient omelette add ham. Cause it was a workday, did take out and everything was packaged well for taking home. But they forgot my toast. I was looking forward to tasting the specialty toast. I had the instinct to check my order before leaving but didn’t, oh well. Amazingly all of the food was still hot when I got home, nice surprise, meaning they cooked it to order. The eggs were very tasty. Be warned, the portions sizes are huge. It’s enough for several meals and on day 2 I think it tasted better.

My review is based solely on the tiny coffee shop of snugs. First of all it is sooo cute and welcoming. The price point is excellent. The owner is so nice and genuine. Most independent coffee shops tend to be slightly stuck up.
She made my usual any time I go anywhere. Iced coffee extra cream no sugar. She brought it out and said «is this too much cream cuz if you would like I can make a new one?» But it was the perfect color in my book!
And usually I add one or two sweet n lows on my own but this coffee was sooooo smooth and rich I needed no sweetener. awesome awesome place!

Woohoo! After Snug’s expansion our experience this time was so much better! It was a beautiful weekend morning… the sun was shining and the birds were chirping and a place with a patio was calling our name! I finally convinced the hubby to give it another try since now they expanded into the spot next door.
The line inside was only 5 people deep. It moved pretty quickly. The biggest difference I saw was that it was very clean behind the counter this time. The girl that took our order was very friendly and patient with us ordering since we didn’t know the menu very well.
The hubby and I both got omelets. They were light fluffy and cooked to perfection. You also get to build your own omelet so it is made to order! I had a side of fresh fruit that included fresh strawberries, plump blueberries, sweet honeydew, and juicy grapes.
It was a great meal and as always I love to see a little mom and pop place succeed!
*note when you pay, you are given an option to tip. We always tip, but I’m not sure in this instance what you are tipping? You have to bus your own table. Yes, they bring the food to your table, but that is the only «service they perform».

Food was good, ambiance was good. Unfortunately it was just way too crowded, and their crowd control leaves a lot to be desired.
I am not sure if they were really understaffed on purpose, or if it was just a bad day where folks called in.
Customers were having to bus their own tables, and «clean» plates and cups were not actually clean.
It was a busy Sunday morning, so maybe other days things are better! I am willing to give them another try.

Food-​gasim. Seriously. I didn’t think it was going to be enough food but it’s more than we could have eaten.
Don’t let the size of the waffle fool you. It’s thick and fluffy but will fill you up in a few short delicious bites. The fruit on top, we’re surprisingly fresh and perfectly ripe.
The sandwich… omg, melt in your mouth sensation of flavors that bring you to your knees.
I also got the peach cobbler. I couldn’t eat anything until I finished the cup full of ooey gooey goodness. It’s like pringles, one bite and you can’t stop until it’s over.

We ate here coming home after a weekend campout with the Troops of Saint George — several dads and sons.
Great omelets and nice staff. We had a great family breakfast here. The location is charming.
A great value in my opinion. Fresh fruit on waffles and they don’t nickel and dime you over adding extra things to your omelet. I’ll be back.

Cute little café with great ambiance in Old Town McKinney. The décor is rustic, with a hip vibe.
I went for breakfast and got a veggie and cheese omelette and the half waffle w/​a coffee ($ 8.95). The omelette was huge, it tasted good, but they were a light on the veggies and heavy on the eggs. I love veggies, so I would’ve preferred more. The waffle was excellent! Fluffy and tasty, topped with fresh fruit. Their coffee was self serve and I enjoyed the hazelnut cinnamon.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience. It wouldn’t be a place I scramble to get to every chance I get, but I may come back in the future for coffee and a waffle.

I’ve only been here twice, but I’d welcome a hot cup of joe from here anytime I’m in the area. I’ll admit I was enviously staring at the people eating the huge omelettes and breakfast sandwiches while I waited for my latte. It smells like Sunday morning in here– warm bread, sweet waffles, and java swirling in the air.
The honey cinnamon latte is velvety and just slightly sweet. I love real cinnamon so I was sold when I heard the lady in front of me order it. It was a great value for the price.
Hopefully I can make it back to try the famous oatmeal everyone raves about.

Overall it was an underwhelming experience at Snug. We came in on a late Saturday afternoon after a day spent shopping on the Square, intending to get a couple Iced Americanos to go. The shop is small and cute, worthy of its name. It has adorable signage and comfy armchairs in addition to regular restaurant tables. We were charmed by its appearance and excited to try this coffee shop’s coffee.
It’s an order-​at-​the-​counter establishment, and at first it wasn’t clear who was in line. A gentleman who had gotten there before us started to wave us in front of him when the man behind the register sternly said «No, you were here first», and insisted the gentleman order. Oddly brusque service that rubbed us the wrong way. When it was our turn, we ordered our two Iced Americanos and I asked if they could put a little skim milk in mine. The cashier said that they could. We were given a number and told to have a seat and they would bring the coffees to our table.
We sat at a table near the door. The table had empty packets of Sweet n’ Low and crumbs on it, like it hadn’t been wiped down in a while. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, and when they did mine had no milk. The cashier explained that they actually didn’t have any milk, but he could put half-​and-​half in mine. It seems odd to me that an establishment that features oatmeal on its menu would have no milk options besides half-​and-​half.
The espresso itself was actually pretty good, even without the milk. The quality of the coffee is why Snug is getting three stars from me, that and I don’t think it’s fair to rate the place too badly until I’ve at least tried their food. Although I’m not eager to rush back, I would be interested to try their breakfast at some point.
