History
Established in 2007.
The Vein Clinic of Texas was opened in 2007 by board certified cardiologist, Dr. M. Akram Khan. Dr. Khan has been practicing cardiology in the McKinney and Allen area since 1997. Dr. Khan served as the first Chief of Cardiology at the McKinney Medical Center and was instrumental in developing a separate cardiology section there in 1999. Dr. Khan was also the Chief of Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Allen in 2003. Currently, Dr. Khan serves as the Preventive Medicine Medical Director at The Medical Center of Plano as well as Medical Director of Cardiac Center of Texas and Vein Clinic of Texas.

Dr. Khan has been practicing cardiology in McKinney and Allen Texas area since 1997. He completed his cardiology fellowship as well as interventional cardiology fellowship at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Dr. Khan is also certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
Since 1997, Dr. Khan has been practicing both noninvasive as well as interventional cardiology. On the interventional cardiology front, he has brought new technology, techniques, and new devices to his practice to enhance service to his patients. Of note, he was the first cardiologist in Collin County to deploy a drug-eluting stent in 2003. He is well-equipped and skilled in all kinds of coronary and peripheral intervention.
