History

Established in 2003.

A second location of Salon Dolce Vita opened on Thursday October 8th 2015. Located in Tysons Galleria Mall in the former location of Salon Bleu including many of the same talented staff members!

Dolce Vita Salon & Spa opened it’s doors for the first time on Tuesday May 13th 2003, since than the Salon has been remodeled once and the Spa twice. We will be remodeling the Salon again in Jan of 2010. Our new design concept is going to be much more modern, sharp and unique.

We’ve been recognized by many fine publications and institutions such as The Washingtonian, New Beauty Magazine, The Who’s Who Institute, Two Mundos Magazine, Z 104 radio and we’ve made it to the Professional Beauty Association’s Best Practice Club list.

Anne Landry is amazing !!! Not only is she a great and knowledgeable stylist but she’s also so much fun to talk to throughout the entire process. have extremely-​processed hair that’s recently been dyed a dark brunette from a very light blonde. Needless to say, my hairs been through a lot. With summer slowly approaching, I decided that I wanted to go back to the light side. Anne did an amazing job with my locks and despite going through the bleaching process, it still feels soft and healthy. Thanks Anne !
Ps. If you’re looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend the staff at Dolce Vita. Everyone is amazing and is a true expert in their field.

My search for the best stylist in the area ended about a year and a half ago when I first heard about Sara Kim. At the recommendation of a friend, I first went to her with an awful color that was completely the wrong tone for my skin color and a terrible cut for my naturally curly hair. Sara spent so much time making sure that my color was perfect and that I was happy with the color and cut. I had never met a stylist who consistently made sure that I was happy with my cut and color. It was such a relief to know that my hair was in such great hands.
Several months later, I decided to get a keratin treatment. I had been talking to Sara about it, and she convinced me that she could get a great result with my hair. After seeing hit or miss results on some of my friends, I was initially nervous because my hair is naturally very curly, frizzy and difficult to manage. The results were amazing. For three months, I had soft, straight and manageable hair. But I wasn’t happy about the chemicals I was putting in my hair.
That’s when Sara told me about Magic Sleek. It’s a formaldehyde free way of getting my hair straight for months. Although it costs a bit more and takes more time to apply, the results are beyond anything I could have imagined. My hair is straight, frizz free, soft and shiny! As my fellow curly-​haired girls understand, I’ve never had shiny hair in my life. And the best part — I had my Magic Sleek treatment about 3 months ago, and my hair is still straight, even if I let it air dry!
With Sara, I know that my hair is always going to look amazing. I trust her recommendations because she is so knowledgable and would never lead me astray.

I got the best color done in my life from Jenny! I couldn’t get an appointment at my regular salon so made a same-​day appointment here and this will now be my go-​to place. Jenny asked me to show her pictures of the kind of blonde color I was looking for and really took the time to figure out what I wanted (right tone for skin, etc). She really took her time with the highlights and you can tell by how nicely blended everything looks. I am obsessed! Thank you, Jenny!

I’ve been going to Anne L for my color and highlights for seven years, and she is excellent. I have very dark hair naturally, and she is able to color it any color I request. Right now I have a very light shade of blonde, which is very hard to do.
I know, because I tried multiple salons in the area in the past, and none were able to get it quite right. At other salons I would always be terribly nervous when I walked in, and leave with brassy hair, streaky highlights, dull hair, or the completely wrong tone for my skin.
Even when I lived four hours away, I would make the drive to McLean to see Anne, because she is that talented. Having perfectly colored hair makes such a difference! I am often stopped by other women requesting who colors my hair.
One summer I was working in Boston and couldn’t come home to get my hair done. I spent days looking up the best colorists for blondes in Boston and I found the most highly recommended colorist. My hair color ended up costing twice as much and looking fake and over-​processed. After I go to Anne my hair always look shiny, natural, and healthy.
With Anne L, I know my hair is going to look perfect every time, which is such a relief! I don’t know how she does it, but every time she colors my hair, I swear I look like a whole new person, and it’s the best it has ever looked.

Dolce Vita Salon is a great salon in Tysons Galleria. The staff is professional and friendly, and I look forward to my visits. Heather has been styling my hair for close to 10 years. She’s creative and incredibly talented. I can tell her anything I want to do with my hair, and she listens to me and sees my vision; she cuts and styles my hair so beautifully. I’m consistently happy with the results. Six years ago, I moved from Maryland to Texas. I couldn’t find anyone in Texas that could style my hair like Heather, and after a full year of looking for someone in Texas, I gave up. Now, I just fly home to DC four times a year and have Heather cut and style my hair. And as a bonus, it’s fun to catch up with her. I receive so many compliments on the hairstyles Heather gives me. My hair happiness is worth the airfare! She’s awesome!

So I moved from Washington state and I was terrified to find a new stylist in this area. Luckily on my first attempt, I found Elly! I am a pinup model and require a very certain cut and style to my hair. She does it exactly how I need and want it. She is extremely versatile and can do just about any and everything to your hair… and not to mention, her coloring skills are absolutely amazing. I have never felt more comfortable with a new stylist in my life. She will be my permanent stylist as long as I live in the DC area.

Claudia is a somewhat of a legend in Tysons. 2 of my friends have been going to her for years and I’ve also heard about her through acquaintances. I love their styles/​color and wanted to see what she could do for me, as I was in a bit of a hairstyle-​slump.
She is a consummate professional, spent time with me trying to understand my vision, and the results were beyond my expectations. LOVE LOVE LOVE my new style. super sexy and chic.

Huda at Dolce Vita is amazing! I was looking for a new colorist and I stumbled across Huda through a friend’s referral. I’m so happy I found her! She understood right away what I was looking for and let me know that it would take a couple of session to get the color change I wanted. I had very dark hair and was looking to transition to something much lighter. After my first appointment, the difference she was able to achieve was fantastic! I never post pictures but the color was just so good that I can’t help it.
Huda is professional and personable, and does an amazing job. She’s the best colorist around.

I swear my stylist Ruth is a magician because every time I see her, I am instantly transformed into a newer and better version of myself! She has years of experience, very professional and just sooo good at what she does. It took me years to find her and as we know, finding a stylist that is consistent and up-​to-​date that you can trust is hard to find. She is also very honest and will not set you up. I can be irrational at times and am not afraid to make daring decisions with my hair but, Ruth is quick to send me back down to earth and help me find a happy medium to my latest ideas. I’ve always had a great experience with Ruth and will continue to see her!
For color, I go to the color Queen (I like to call her) — Jenny aka Dede! I’ve always been afraid of color because of the maintenance that it required so when I was finally ready, Ruth recommended Jenny and she’s been taking care of me ever since. She was able to give a beautiful color that complimented my features and complexion but, at the same time is low maintenance enough for me that I am able to keep up with it. She is also very consistent and I am always so pleased after my appointments.
Because of Ruth and Jenny, I may never move out of the DC area.

I’ve been going to Anne for at least 14 years now. I get a fabulous cut and gorgeous color every time. I’m regularly stopped in restaurants, airports, grocery stores by women who want to know who does my hair.
I’m over 40 (a bit) and my job requires me to have a polished and professional appearance. She keeps me looking current and stylish. On the other hand, she satisfies my 20-​something daughter who wants an edgier look. Anne knows what we want and keeps us looking good. She’s the best!

Anne Landry is fantastic. She is my go-​to person for hair cuts, highlights, and color. She is so sweet, extremely attentive, and engaged. The service she provides is always consistent and on-​point.
Most recently, I was contemplating whether to cut my long hair that I had for over 15 years and Anne guided me through a tough transition of cutting it to a short bob.

I have been going to Sara Kim here for the last 4 and a half years. She is really a gifted hair stylist and does the best color around, she really knows her stuff (people ask about my hair color constantly).
I started going to Sara when i was frantically researching for «the best hair colorists in Virginia» online and found this salon — when i asked the girl on the phone to get me an emergency appointment with the best colorist they had, I was given an appointment the next day with Sara.
Sara fixed a horrid color job from another salon and made it look great. After that, I’ll never let anyone else do my color.
Sara’s cuts are also amazing. She listens to what I want, but steers me in the right direction if something may not work with my hair type (which is thick and sometimes difficult).
I used to get keratin treatments from her too (which she does especially well — results on these can vary by stylist, and hers come out so good). But recently, I’ve switched to the Magic Sleek treatment for straightening. Don’t let the cheesy name fool you, this treatment is amazing, and i think Dolce Vita is one of the only salons around that offer this. Its more expensive and takes a lot longer than a keratin treatment, but it gets the hair much straighter and frizz free, plus my hair has never been so shiny — like ever. Sooo worth the extra cost.
*one word of caution for the magic sleek treatment though — if you have a bright hair color (like red), plan to get the color done 1 – 2 days after the treatment, it strips a lot of the color out, more so than a keratin. This is just the nature of the treatment, but the end result is worth it.
So in summary, Sara Kim is about as top tier as you can get in the metro area. This salon is pricey, but if you want the highest standard of hair color/​cut, this is where you should go. Period.

Had an AMAZING cut/​color/​highlight with Anne… she took the time to explain different options and how to maintain the style over time. Even though my current color is SHADES lighter than my natural dark brown/​black, it looks so healthy and still blown-​out after a week of washes! It’s so hard to find a great stylist in the DC area, and from now on I won’t be going to anyone but Anne.
