The Carpet Yard

We just had carpet installed by Carpet Yard in our master bedroom and adjacent office. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Charlotte measured accurately, quoted us a very competitve price and the 3 installers who came today were true professionals. They worked neatly, installed the carpet without any issues and moved the furniture around as carefully as if it was theirs. We’ve lived in our house for 35 years and have had many experiences with carpet installation, but this one was the absolute best, without any question! I highly recommend them!

Very poor experience. DO NOT expect any customer care or support from them. As a previous reviewer stated they are very defensive and will blame everyone and anyone rather than take responsibility. We had an expensive runner which was poorly fitted. They blamed the manufacturer. Very poor — avoid.

I own a store in Falls Church Called New To You. I had a hardwood laminate installed in my shop a few years ago and have been delighted with the results. I receive a lot of traffic, as well as, wet shoes and boots, etc whenever it rains or snows and my flooring still looks brilliant after all this time. I am often asked where I got the flooring and who did the install and am pleased to recomend The Carpet Yard to my customers.

I initially had an excellent experience with this company– and then things went wrong. In 2009, I bought a carpet for our playroom. My only complaint with it was that the padding wasn’t very thick, but that was easily fixed. Then in the summer of 2011 I purchased a basement carpet and a runner for the stairs. Within a year the runner started to pull apart. Strands of the rug were coming up all over the place. I called the store for help and they immediately got defensive. They said there was no problem with the install so they had no interest in helping. I asked for pricing information to see how much it would cost to replace the destroyed carpet and they still haven’t gotten back to me. It has been two weeks. They refuse to call back and are being generally incredibly unhelpful. I was genuinely surprised that an established business would treat a repeat customer in such a rude and dismissive way. The runner I had there before lasted 10 years, so I was surprised that this fell apart in under a year, but even more surprised that the store was so unwilling to help. They had some problems with a rogue employee who was stealing from the company– they are clearly passing their losses on to the customers. I would never shop at this store again since they have very little integrity and do very little to help if you run into any sort of product problem down the line. Its luck of the draw here– you MIGHT get a decent carpet, or you might pay a lot of money for a cheaply made one. If you have a problem, don’t expect any help at all from the company. What an extremely disappointing experience. I STRONGLY encourage you to shop elsewhere.
