I’m a redneck, but this is a redneck joint I won’t go in. Not a honkey tonk. Just. Kinda scary for new folks.

I don’t see what the obsession is here.
Just a small town place with obviously a dedicated crowd. Every one I talk to in Mebane seems to think that this is the place to go but I am not sold on it yet.
The bartender was not helpful and acted like ordering tonic water WITH lime was such a huge request. The DJ played songs that were in style when I was in elementary school and didn’t know how to work a crowd because NO ONE was even showing interest in the dance floor and it was almost midnight. Single bathroom.
I can see how people would like this place but I need a little more friendly bartenders and adept DJs before I fall for it.
Only plus was no cover but then again there wasn’t a cover at any of the places I tried that night so it must be a thing around here.

I went here to see an old friend that tends bar here frequently, and with that disclaimer out of the way…
I like this place, it is a pretty basic little bar set up, about twelve bar stools long, with a couple of tables along the wall. There are a couple of televisions at the bar. A few pool tables in a connected room where there is also a stage for live music. There was a band playing the night we went, but we left to relieve the sitter as they were getting started.
There were three or four beers on tap, mostly domestic. There is liquor as well and I know that Johnny can make just about anything you could think of asking for.
I worked in bars for years, a lot of them with Johnny, and IMHO a bar is really about the bartenders.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better little bar in Alamance county.

I dig the Pig. Good crowd of regulars, rotating crew of sassy bartenders, generally good shows on the weekends (be prepared to pay a cover for those, usually $ 5). Only 3 draft beers — PBR and Busch Light or something like that ($ 1.50 for a 16-​oz. plastic cup), and Buckshot I think ($ 3 for same). Busch Light 12-​oz. drafts are 50 cents on Wed. The quintessential Mebane bar, and «stumblin’» is definitely an apt description some nights.
