History

Established in 1980.

Autobodies by Lucas has been in the Mechanicsburg community at the same location for over 75 years. Lee and Steve Cadwallader have owned and operated the business since 1980 and have recently renovated the facility to increase the footprint to over 8000 square feet. The new addition houses state of the art Down draft spray booth with energy efficient air supply and electrical conversion equipment. It even boasts a rainwater collection system that stores rain water runoff for washing vehicles. With over 75 years in the Mechanicsburg community Autobodies by Lucas is here to serve and now help protect the Mechanicsburg public.

Jeremy C. has been with the Select Collision group for over 8 years and has risen through the ranks from the wash bay to the front office with a love for cars and people. Jeremy brings his ability to meet any challenge to the repair process and prides himself in a team that can get the job done with a smile. Jeremy’s attention to detail and his love of serving peoples automotive needs makes for a team that will make your visit a pleasant and painless one.

This place is just top of the line. They deal with all the paperwork with insurance and/​or work with you if you are paying out of pocket. The office is nicer than most homes with all kinds of great amenities, down to dog treats!!! The work is 100% and your car will come back cleaner then it went in, for sure. They don’t talk down to women, which is a plus to me when dealing with anything car related. Will ALWAYS go to one of the select auto group body shops from now on.

We had chosen this shop based on recommendations and their peoples choice 2013 designation. They area a state farm select shop so i figured that the combination would be great. Communication wasn’t bad but the work was subpar. We were told the vehicle was done and we picked it up a couple days later.
When we went to pick it up, the paint wasn’t even close and the bumper was crooked. The trim was short and it really was one of the worst jobs that i had ever seen. It stayed there until we were called again. When i went to pick it up, the color was still off and the bumper was lined up better but it wasn’t representative of what the rest of the car looked like.
They are very nice to deal with but don’t seem to pay attention to detail.

The people were nice, but don’t trust their first estimate. After they had my car for two days they called me and said they found more damage they missed on the first estimate and the new estimate had more than doubled. Instead of having my car back in two days they kept if for a week.

This business is awesome! I’ve had the unfortunate experience of having two vehicles being hit and damaged. One by a school bus and the other a snow removal truck. In both instances I took the vehicle to «Autobodies by Lucas» for repair. They perform exceptional work, and are extremely professional. If you live in Central PA and need auto body work I would highly recommend. They go the extra mile!
